ok so i managed to change my prl via this thead
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1733276
and this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1660740
but i cant get my s3 to actually roam like it did with previous devices
ive read this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1673196
that says about changing your cellar band to get it roaming.
the problem is that the *#*# code does not work for our phone.
my question is does anyone know of a working code to change the cell band for our device, and has anyone successfully get their s3 roaming??
thanks guys
I want to know this as well. Does the radio for SGS3 has the same problem as the SGS2?
Does it only roam on 800Mhz?

i was able to use roam control on the gs2 but not the gs3.
when i do ##3282# -edit-others-HDR/1x Sleection and change that to evdo only it does connect to roaming BUT it messes alot of calls and sms is unusable.
so i know it can roam on another network, there is just some added setting that i must be missing..
Well I can't roam with GS2. Im from Puerto Rico and apparently almost all towers are 1900
so i think i got it to work my speed is much faster ...but here is the thing i dont know and maybe someone can help me .... when i check on netmonitor it says carrier sprint but when i check the prl it says the prl i wrote (111115)
so if anybody has any ideas le me know
thanks
update: speeds are back down ..never mind... it would b nice if somebody got it to work =(

Hello,
I am trying to get a hold of the US Cellular .prl file 15106. I am on VZW and want to manually flash 15106 so I can roam on USCC 3G. I do not have VZW 3G in my area and am stuck on 1X all the time.
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance.

Have you done this?
Menu>Settings>Wireless & Networks > Mobile Networks > Check Data Roaming
also make sure system select is on Automatic and not Home only
Yup, I do roam on their towers but I can't get 3G. I know they have it, it is just not in my prl to use 3g.
Can anyone tell me how to pull the file from a friends phone with a mac?
Bump - anyone????
It was just brought to my attention that I don't have to have that specific prl I just need one at least that new.
If you still need a current US Cellular PRL, I can upload it somewhere for you. This thread is kind of old though...
USCC prl
I would like the USCC prl for 3g. I am on Sprint, but the signal where I'm at isn't that great.

I'm on Verizon as well and I am having problems with getting data or voice in parts of my area. I could use the latest prl from USCC if possible... Thanks.

My Sprint network services suck, and I still have my old metropcs account active.. so I was wondering.. would it be possible to activate metropcs data on my 4g touch activated for sprint?
Anyone? Not trying to steal service as my metropcs account is still active. I can use the modem mac from my old phone if needed,

I already know I wont get 4G, but working 3G sure would be nice. I want to try and set it up for testing. I am currently using forced roaming with the hacked verizon prl, but if I keep this up I will eventually be kicked from Sprint.
Yes, you can flash metro pcs onto your Sprint ET4G. I have mine flashed. However, I can't get mms to work. So, 3g works, text, talk...no mms. I had someone from Craigslist flashed it for $40...

Hey, I have been at this for some time. I'm very confused about some things. I currently have the Samsung Epic 4g Touch (Galaxy S2). To my knowledge my SPC is now set to 000000, and most the QPST settings (OR CDMA settings if you prefer) are set and correct.
I was wondering if there's anyway you can shoot me a response or PM with how to get everything working. I don't even have data at all. I can't seem to figure it out.
Doesn't Metro use Sprint towers?
If so, I doubt you will notice a difference in speed/signal strength!
I have also unlocked my phone and have set my setitgs correctly via QDMA and as far as I know MetroPCS has stopped updating ESN numbers unless its a Metro phone. any news on this?

I am using ParanoidAndroid 4.3 on my Galaxy Note 2, I've notice with 4.2.2 and 4.3 that I can not access *#197328640#.
I need to access this in order to get LTE only, unless someone else knows otherwise. Please help. I didn't want to go back down to 4.1.2 Cleanrom.
Hopefully someone has a workaround, or if this issue has already been addressed, can you post link.
Thk you

No problem bro. I never heard anyone trying only use LTE. I have heard alot of people trying to turn Lte off to save battery..lol... if you could lock it on LTE only than whenever you are away from an LTE area than you will have No data till you pick up LTE again.
Dont forget to hit thanks if Someone helps you
Unless AT&T has implemented Voice over LTE (VoLTE), setting your phone to LTE only would leave you unable to use your Note II as a phone. Maybe you were looking at disabling GSM and EDGE instead, leaving you with WCDMA and LTE?
I only use my phone for Skype and google voice sms and calls & internet. I don't have phone service. I have an IPad 4g lte sim in my phone. I am able to do Lte only on 4.1.2. Not anything higher.
Would really like to use aosp or aokp ROM. But without that Lte only driving and talking going to H+ or H is Hell over Voice. Chicago has gr8 lte coverage.
Will probably have to stay with touchwiz.

For those of you have LTE connection issues when in the past LTE worked fine I want to share what I did and it worked. I am not in a Spark area and after getting the update from Sprint I lost LTE connection at work. I previously had LTE a 100% of the time at work. I noticed that a lot of folks on the Sprint forums were having the very same issue. After researching with Sprint to solve my problem (They were no help at all), and the combination of things I read here on xda (I can't find the forum So I take not credit for this) I want to share the solution that worked for me.
1. Call Sprint and obtain your MSL code
2. In the phone dialer enter ##3282#
3. press LTE and enter edit, Enter MSL code
4. Click on LTE, then bands 26 and 41 and disable both of them
5. Phone should reboot and LTE should work as it did before
If someone would be so kind if I can't find the threads on here I would like to link them and give credit were it is due.
I just wanted to share what worked for me.

Then this mod doesn't really pertain to you. It just turns off those connections for Sprints Spark system.

Just a note if you get a profile or prl update that you did not initiate you will have to turn off bands 26 and 41 again following the steps above.
Disabling bands 26 (800mhz) and 41 (2500mhz) seems counterproductive to the gains that Sprint Spark is supposed to bring. I'm guessing it's probably region specific to those having LTE issues where disabling these bands "fixes" whatever issues you're having (maybe Spark is not fully deployed, etc). I'm not having these LTE issues by the way, and LTE coverage here in NYC has improved to the point that i even get LTE in some underground subway stations.

That's the exact problem, the roll out is far from nation wide. So if you are in a non spark area, the phone constantly seems to search for it. My battery life significantly decreased on ZVC. Once I shut off those bands, my LTE was much more stable and battery life improved greatly.

I have the straight talk galaxy s3 that runs on Verizon towers...I have my contract 4G sim in the phone running a Verizon rom and everything does work but it roams everywhere I go and I don't get any 4G (disabled by straight talk). I was wondering if flashing a sprint rom would help at all? I seen the sticky saying not to flashing any rom from another carrier but I've flashed dozens of different roms and all has been good except the roaming. Anyways, just wanted to see if I could get some help here. Thanks in advance
What would it take to enable the 4G on this phone?

You might have to configure your APNs, or, if you haven't for a long time, you might need to update your modem, since you don't get that sort of update with custom ROMs. On my Virgin Mobile phone, I have to flash an APN fix on every new ROM, otherwise I just have 3G.

The straight talk version I have runs off Verizon towers and they have 4G disabled but the phone is suppose to be 4G enabled. The apn fixes didn't help. I'm wondering if this would need something like cdma workshop.
Ah, I see. Yeah, if the 4g is blocked on multiple ROMs, you'll need an app to fiddle with the sim card. Hopefully it's not hard blocked (a physical switch or the card is incapable of it even though the phone is)! I'd try to contact Straight Talk and/or see if it works on stock. If you're trying to get 4g without straight talk knowing, well, I don't know much about that, but CDMA workshop or something similar might be worth a shot.
I was thinking cdma workshop would be the answer but I don't know where they have it turned off. It sucks being confined to 3G when the phone is 4G compatible and straight talk will allow 4G on there Verizon network now.
