Would you give your Galaxy Nexus away for a Galaxy S 3 if you had the chance to?
I want some honest opinions..
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
No.
Probably not, mainly because the European S3 won't get 3G on T-Mobile.

Nope!
Love my Pure Google Nexus...and the "possibility" of getting updates quicker than phones with carrier crap on them, I'll keep my Nexus; Thank You Very Much! LoL
Also, with the available ports of all the SGS3 apps...can't get any better than this!
Not a chance. Updates straight from Google and no capacitive / physical buttons are too good to pass up. Also, Paranoid Android isn't on the GSIII

Yes if:
-Its the version that's compatible with AWS band
-AOKP becomes available for it

It isn't the AWS version unless whomever wants to trade with OP got one three weeks early.

If I do get it.. It would be with Vodafone Australia GSM no 4G. Although I love my Galaxy Nexus (too much) its starting to get outdated, spec wise.
Also, if I do get it.. I'll give the Nexus to my dad, so I can get it back whenever.. And I'd be able to upgrade in December just in time for the next Nexus.
I'm currently running the latest MIUI on my rooted Galaxy Nexus, so I'm not really into high levels of customization, And although I'm not a fan of the Galaxy S 3 design, I think they did a pretty good job software wise. And the fact that it's already been rooted before release gives it a bright start in the development field.
What do you guys think now?

No. I would for a CDMA/LTE Galaxy Note though. Go figure ...

Of course! I'd sell the S3, make profit, and buy a newer Nexus
Seriously, GNX is very fast, SUPER easy to flash/manage (My 9100G SGS2 is a nightmare), and STABLE!! Why switch???
I have the urge to try new phones.. In the past 6 months I've changed 5 phones.. But I loved the Galaxy Nexus the most...
I'm definitely going to get the next Nexus.. So why not try out the GS3 now?

the Nexus is still a great phone, and it will probably be getting Jellybean in 2 days. however it is not as good compared to the EVO 4G in terms of specs. its really upto you. try out the nexus and see what it is like for you and for the day to day activities you do with your phones.
Just seems like the Nexus has more dev support too

People can tell you all you want. But in the end it is ultimately your decision.
Conclude if you want it or not. No one is going to beg you to trade it or not to trade it.
Let's be honest.
You post this thread on Galaxy Nexus forums
- You get responses to trade it.. "get the galaxy nexus" (I myself included)
You post on this thread on EVO LTE forums.
- Tells you to keep it.... let me guess they told you not to... because of "specs"
Conclude for your own.... both phones are great.
Want the newest and latest in terms of software? Get the Galaxy Nexus. It'll always have the latest (unsure about its LTE variants because its controlled by carriers, but GSM version is free of that). Jelly Bean is around the corner, HTC will take awhile to update their phones.
Sure you can get custom ROMs but it's just not the same. Especially when it comes to open source drivers etc etc etc etc [read this on your own, not here to lecture about OTAs]

They do. They just have to be verified by the carrier. I'm not sure about Sprint but I know that the Verizon Nexus has to be approved.

Agreed. Personally I don't like sense but yes the Evo has better specs. My last phone was the epic with touchwiz which was OK but after running cm9 on that I'm very happy coming to the gnex. Really what's more important to you. But if someone tried to trade me for the evo I would definitely say no.

Just verify if the screen is perfect , tint , scratch...
This is the only problem on this phone i got (returned 2 times) , first i got a problem with a line of dead pixels, and i got a problem with a magenta tint.
I got some problem with AOKP if u want to root: gps signal fail, 3G, H just crash every time.
This is a great phone, but HTC one X is better

The AOKP failure is probably due to user error, not the phones.

Please don't flame me. Honest opinions from people who has used the Droid RAZR xt910 (gsm). Should I trade my Nexus for one? It is a white version with box and 16gb SD card. I'm using straight talk at&t so hopefully it'll work flawlessly. Any advice? I loved my Atrix 2 when I had it and I love my gnex. :/ But the RAZR is like a thin Atrix 2. Help!!!! Lol

Um I had it before and it is pretty good phone, but it is really slow compared to Gnex... also you get pretty lame updates compared to Gnex. Gnex just brings more to the table if you ask me

I'm not too worried about updates. It'll at least see jellybean. But the speed worries me. I've seen Antutu bench scores in the mid 6000s. Thats on stock ICS. I know numbers don't matter but the gnex is around the same in numbers. Does the droid just have more menue lag or something?

I personally doubt that it's gonna get a jelly bean update... also razr is just had more "android lag" even with ics update... I just don't think you will get a lot from the trade, that is all. Of course, choice is yours

Motoblur is definitely going to be the factor. It's going to take Motorola ages to push out Jelly Bean for it and that's if they even decide to at all.
Well it took Samsung and Motorola similar times to push ICS to the gs2 and the RAZR. But Motorola gets worse rep than Samsung. :/ why's that?

Let's share our knowledge.
lol biggest regret ever stick to google for android or gt iphone
most apps and game dnt makke full use of quadcore
samsung offer little support

I think it's safe to assume most people that have moved from a Nexus to an S3 wouldn't continue to lurk in the Nexus forums. Probably best to ask in the S3 forums :good:
I love my Nexus and will always stay Nexus for the stock Android experience and abundance of ROMs. That said though I did try a S3 4g/LTE model today and was MIGHTY impressed with how snappy it was with Jellybean.
I've been tempted several times. Its the physical buttones that are holding me back.
I recently had the chance to get it myself. But I couldn't do it. I was looking at the aosp development, and from what I'm used to it was weak. I could live with touchwiz but I just don't like it. The physical keys where also a downer. Just something I wouldn't like to give up. And since i already have a quad core tablet there really was nothing besides a better camera and even then the gnex camera is pretty good I don't listen to what others say I know what I've seen it do.

I have both as well (SGS2 being my daily phone) and for me (my own personal preference) both the GNex and SGS3 has their own perks in their respective right. With that being said, if i had to choose, my GNex will come out on top each time. But my SGS3 is a damn good device.

The latest Touchwiz is pretty bad. I had TW ICS on my tab2 and just recently we got TW JB on the tab2. I don't know if the SGS3 will get something similar but this latest version of TW JB on my Tab 2 is slow, the browser force closes and the interface has been changed for the worst. The ICS version of TW was better than this newest version they have released.

I have both and most of the time use my s3 for the battery life. If I want to try something new or interesting I'll usually do it on the nexus. As far as bad aosp goes I'm not sure what you're smoking, we get nightly cm10 builds consistently. I'm currently running the m2 release and it's perfectly suitable for every day use. Prior to this I was running paranoid and it was great. M2 just has better battery life. Also while they do get worse battery life than touch wiz it's still better than my nexus.

lolno.
Well a lot of people I know have the s3. A lot.
Anyway...I've had a lot of opportunities to play with it. It is very very very fast first and foremost!
I've mostly played with the ICS versions. So smooth and a real joy to use. The nature UX is also very nice. Its one of the best android skin I've used from any OEM I think. They finally moved away from trying to mimic the IOS look and feel with the UI which is good.
I've tried the jellybean version of the s3 just once and to be honest I could not tell a big difference. That's because the s3 is awesome with speed and responsiveness even with ICS.
The screen is excellent also, and the feel and look of the handset in the hand is nice. It looks a lot like the galaxy nexus with buttons.
I would not move to the s3 as a full time replacement for the galaxy nexus however. Simple reason being that I had the galaxy note and waiting for ICS and Jellybean was not my thing.
I'm too comfortable with quick stock updates from my nexus s days. Plus the main reason also...the galaxy nexus is insanely fast and smooth already!
