Hey all,
I'm thinking I will get this phone now that it has hit Virgin Mobile USA, I see that it has a 4Gb ROM. Does it really have that much for apps? if so then I most likely will get this phone!
Thanks in advance,
mugglecrew
Only 1GB is usable, my friend.
It says it has 4GB Storage, but only 1GB is usable for the user... You'll definitely need a MicroSD card for installing loads of apps... Also, as the default bluetooth directory in One V is in it's internal storage, you might want to keep it empty.

Friend of mines got a WildfireS but keep running out of space on it, theres not many apps installed and the 8Gb card is virtually empty.
I've moved the apps than can be to the SDCard but other than that I'm not really "up" with the phone.
Any ROM's or anything else I can do to improve the situation, its getting to the point where she wants to go back to her old Nokia

A data2sd rom would be an option or link2sd. Look at the Index thread, there is a link2sd tutorial at the general guide section.
Will see if I can get the phone off her for a few days and give it a tweaking..
Moved the apps that would let me to the SDCard, its out of space again though, something wrong here surely, I know its a cheap device but really, this sucks balls..
Did you "get" more space?
Hi Trig0r,
I have that phone and the problem is that they took too much of the RAM for system files and other junk apps. Its supposed to have 500MB of ram, but we are only allowed about 120MB to install apss.. I rooted my phone and got about 40MB more of memory. Good luck getting space for your friend's phone.

best bet is to root and install link2sd if possible. i've done this on VM USA, and after removing the crap apps that came on the phone, i have almost 60 apps installed and have 43.08mb free on internal.
Back on this phone again, its running
2.3.3
2.1
1.33.206.5
Gonna see if I can have it for a few days.
Got it now, ota'd to 2.3.5 still sucks balls, gonna drop a custom on it if I can get an unlocked bootloader..

ROM, not RAM...
I have the exact same problem on stock...can you please tell me the most stable sense rom with link2sd built in?
HI, im really sorry if this has been posted already but i did look and all i found was for other phones and not mine.
So my phone has had the low memory icon since December 31st, 2011 and has only gone away a few times. I clear the cache, took off photos, even cleared out my music and did a factory reset...all the while took off all the apps and put them back on one by one. Now my phone has decided to deny me access to my photo's, music and text messages. yesterday my internal phone memory was 10.93 and this morning it is 8.88. My sd card is 8 gigs and has 4.77 available space. I went to the telus store and the representative told me just to force stop applications running which I do that all the time and even go to the manage applications and stop the large ones. and I spoke to multiple representatives and all they would do if I sent it away would be update the software and do a factory reset. my phone wont even update any application....
please help me!!! I'm ready to throw my phone against a brick wall.
THANK YOU
MELISSA
I think that this hasn't been asked yet. Furthermore, in no case there are a billion of custom ROMS whose primary task was to circumvent this issue.

Have a look in the development section of this forum. There are custom roms (phone software) that allow apps to run from your memory card rather than the very limited phone memory. This will give you 5 times or more amount of space

Unfortunately you have to start a root and install a modded rom.
The Htc desire has this big problem. You can install apps only in the internal memory (about 520mb).
The modded roms allow you to install apps also in the SD card with (virtual) unlimited space.

Hello there!
I'm very exited to get my new HTC One X, but I've just read the the onboard storage is partitioned, so that there's only 2gb left for apps. Can you change that?
Thanks!
Do you really need more than 2,11GB of internal storage???
I have around 260 apps in mine HOX and there is still 1GB of free space left.
Some of really big apps can you move to *sd-card* partition where is 25 GB of place...
Well, I don't know yet, since I haven't got my phone yet. But suppose I run out of space - completely. Is it possible to extend the app storage at the cost of some sd storage?

You can still use the built in "move to SD" thats been around since froyo. I dont think app storage will be a problem on this phone.

The phones has two kinds of internal storage. The typical internal storage, and the 'sdcard' storage which isn't an SD card at all — or if it is, it's an internal one you can't get at. But the phone treats it as one.
So, you can freely move apps between them just like if there were an actual SD card in there.

It is possible on other HTC devices so I presume it will be on this, but it needs S-Off I think, so untill we achieve this 2GB will have to do.

Has somebody done this already, written a tutorial or something like that?
Hi people, I just bought a clone of the HTC One X *HDC One X+*
I have 3 different types of storage Internal, Phone, SD Card.
Everytime I download a big size game ex.Asphalt 7, Dungeon Hunter 3 etc..
It always download into Phone Storage which only has about 2GB space.
What I'm trying to do is making the SD Card the default storage since it has 32GB.
Whoever that can give me a hand with this, thanks in advance.

Moving the app will only go into Internal Storage or Phone Storage. I will take afew more screenshots to show you what I mean.
Here are some screenshots. Pretty much when I install asphalt 7 or big data games, i want them to go straight into sd card.
in that case it is not possible

I doubt that. Internal storage is not like cpu freq, where you can increase it and see whether it is safe or not. This is like " I want to increase my pendrive storage from 1Gb to 2Gb without purchasing new pendrive."
Can it be done? By "hardware hacking" point of view, it is possible.
Should you do it? I guess not.
