Question is, will it let you purchase PAID APPS? I had the ICS version of the market 3.2 and it would not allow me to buy apps but free apps were fine.

Thanks for sharing this! You may want to update OP w/ these steps in place of the video, saves you time to just install the apk rather than watching a 6min video, renaming the apk, copying it over to /system/app, then powering down the phone, and then powering back up the phone when you can just install it and run it !

Market
I've tried several market versions and they won't show my apps. IIpurchased I select my apps all I get is my gmail account and that search apps or games. When I flashed the new calkulins Rom it worked for two days now back to the same problem. Anyone have any solutions. Thanks in advance

If Im correct I believe calkulins new rom comes with this version in it, I never run the apk on my touch but I checked it last night and it was already up to date.

You have to manually install it because supposedly it is not "compatible" with our phones even though 2.2.16 version work fine. Anyone have a download link?

I saw that, but it didn't show up in my apps yet.

google search for the file name then throw "download" in the search box after the name... you'll find it.

What's in this version:
+1 button and annotations
'Watch later' queue
Uploading while editing video info

I searched the forum to try and find an answer, with no luck. My main question is why can't we find the youtube app in the market, or update it without manually downloading an APK. I am running stock rom, no root, and I am on version 2.1.6. Clearly there has been several updates to the app since the version I have. I am just wondering why the newer versions are "incompatible" with our phone? I mean isn't this suppose to be the latest and greatest phone that Sprint has to offer?

S-Voice From GS4

Here is the new S-Voice APK from the GS4, credit due to sammobile
[dot] com
Just install it like a normal APK, replace the existing S-Voice if prompted. May want to do a Nandroid prior to trying this. I have only tried this on JB, probably WILL NOT work on ICS!

It just installs like a normal APK. I;m not sure of all the new features, I know they optimized the UI, not sure what all they changed.

As far as I can see from playing 5 minutes with it, only the driving mode is different.
Makes sense since they mentionned on the launch of the S4 that the app was now called S Voice Drive (or something like that).

I'll rehost it for you on my own server - so we don't have to keep dancing with file sharing hosts..
I have unmetered bandwidth so we shouldn't have to worry about links dying and what not..

It's just a regular old apk file... Just install it like you would any other app!

How about group play? Did anyone port that over to s3 yet?

I pulled these from the system dump. I have a feeling that the AccuWeather app doesn't work on out phones. There was only the weather.apk and the weather deamon.apk.
Since it was a odexed ROM did that mean they had to have their odex file included and only worked on a odexed ROM ?

It's not laggy for me on any of my development devices, including my N7. Not sure why the difference, but I'm sure the next update will resolve a lot of the issues.

I kinda like the ui everything seems more fluid.

The old play store looked more modern but this one definitely fits the Google UI theme they have going.. Oh and the colors remind me of the old android market

Don't flame me on this but how the hell do I install this apk. It fails when I try through file explorer in the OS and it won't recognize it in TWRP.

Remove your old google play store via titanium backup. Reboot then install the apk via root explorer. This zip is not flashable

Should just click on the apk that you download and it will update your current play store. Did for me anyway. No uninstall needed.

I stated that he might need to uninstalled is if he flash a inverted gapp of the google store that's lock on a old version. It happened before w me. Just a clarification.
I didn't have any inverted gapps or special inverted google store so I just ran the apk as well.

i just did a clean wipe and install on my rom and gapps and the google play store automatically updated as if it were already installed. I dont think a apk is any use unless your on stock/non rooted device. =) just flash the latest GAPPS or PA-GAPPS and the new play store should be good to go. =)
