Hey guys, I have recently unlocked my droidinc2 bootloader through the htcdev website, got root and tried to flash a rom. However, I didn't know that the htcdev unlock had many problems along with it, and so I ended up stuck on the white htc screen, not being able to boot up properly after flashing a rom. I can access recovery, but my computer cannot detect the phone so I can't use adb/fastboot commands. I know I should've done some research before doing what I did, im sorry for that :X. So far I tried factory resetting, wiping the data and dalvik cache etc but nothing seems to work. Btw, will flashing the "PG32IMG.zip" through bootloader work? I saw somewhere that it has problems with phones that unlocked through HTC. Any way I can fix this problem? Many thanks...

I have serious problems with my phone that I could really use some help with as at the moment I'm completely screwed - I've already spent hours reading forums but have yet to find advice that will help. Here's whats happened:
I have an A8181 HTC Desire, and I took an OTA update yesterday that bricked my wifi. At this point I thought it would be easiest to root my phone, and after checking that my hboot version was 0.93, I read advice that said to downgrade this to 0.83, which I duly did.
Now, my phone is stuck in a bootloader loop - I get the 3 androids on skatebooards with FASTBOOT in red, and I can choose from:
BOOTLOADER
REBOOT
REBOOT BOOTLOADER
POWER DOWN
If I select bootloader I then get:
FASTBOOT
RECOVERY
CLEAR STORAGE
SIMLOCK
I can access recovery and apply update.zip roms successfully (I've only tried official HTC 2.2 roms as the phone isnt rooted), but after doing so it just goes back to the bootloader loop.
If I select FASTBOOT then I'm just back at the first screen.
I've tried clearing cache and factory reset aswell, but I still can't get past this 2 screen loop.
It's like the bootloader just can't load whatever rom is installed.
Because the phone isn't booting up, I can't use adb or any other pc tools as the device is not detected on my pc - although it does show up in device manager on windows.
I'm close to sending this back to try a warrantly claim, although I'm worried that by trying to fix this I may have invalidated this.
I'd really appreciate any help or advice as to how I can get out of this and get my stock 2.2 back.
Cheers
If your computer using windows, have you installed hboot drivers?
If you have those installed your pc should detect the phone.

You shouldn't have had to downgrade your bootloader. If you can, go back to the newer.
The wifi issue, was widespread on desires, I had it also after a "pushed" update from HTC (european model, unlocked). I downloaded a stock 2.29 froyo. Had to make a gold card also. Took several tries, wipe cache, but eventually successful.
Then, I rooted, and went to CyanogenMod7 rom with clockwork recovery.
Hey Guys,
So I am totally stumped at the moment.
I have used the Hasoon2000 HTC all-in-one and performed the following:
Unlocked the bootloader
flashed the recovery
Installed SuperSU
My phone is rooted and all is good but now everytime i try to open an app that has something to do with i think either the gpu or sound it freexes then restarts.
What should i try?? I have tried to flash stock recovery with no success and wiped the cache and tried full factory reset. All results in the same issue. I ahve even tried to remove the SU in the system/xbin and bin folders.
Should i try flashing with a stock rom?
Any help is much appreciated

Which apps are doing it, are they stock or 3rd party??
You will find there are still a lot of apps out there that dont work or arent too clever on ICS, so if its from the market id investigate its ics compatability b4 you do anything.
It has happened to me, PROPMODDER, it loads, but as soon as you try to alter something it all goes wrong.
Failing that, try booting into recovery, wipe the cache, dalvik cache, and finally fix permissions, see if that helps any, if it is stock apps causing the problem and you dont want to use 3rd party apps you could also boot into fastboot, open a cmd prompty changing to your ADB directory were fastboot is and try FASTBOOT ERASE CACHE, this can sometimes help with issues.
Good luck with it, i hope you solve it.
Thanks for the suggestion.
I have tried clearing both caches and fixing permission (clockwork recovery) but it has made no difference. it is any app including stock that cause this issue. Seems to be anything related to the GPU or sound (pretty sure sound).
I have the srock RUU, should i lock the boot loader and install the RUU (1.28)??
as a basic test i just tried Youtube and as soon as the video begins to play it freezes for 10 seconds then restarts
Attempted to install orignial RUU but got an image error unpn installation
I checked my phone which matchs the below file, dont know why it thinks its wrong
RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.28.707.10_Radio_1.1204.103.14_release_257076_signed.exe

Did you lock your boot loader before flashing the ruu?
Also, did you read some threads around here so you could understand what you are doing to your phone? I'm asking this because the all in one tool is nice, but it's also dangerous when you don't quite understand how it works
Well no i didnt have the bootloader relocked as it wouldnt load the OS back up, it just kept booting to bootloader. Turns out that was a good thing. Ran RUU and now im back to the beggining lol thanks all for your help. I will do some more reading before I root again
Any recommendations? all i want to do is a simple root to connect a ps3 controller lol

So I was attempting to unlock the bootloader using GNex Toolkit, which I now know I never should have done. After supposingly unlocking the bootloader, the Google screen would show up for about 10, then the phone would reboot itself. I decided to let it run its course and see if it would fix itself, but after doing this for about 30 minutes, I figured it wasn't going anywhere. So that's when I (also against my now better judgement) tried to relock/OEM restore using GNex toolkit. Well it wouldn't unlock, and the boot issue still exists. So then I started digging, and found efrant's wonderful guide on restoring my apparently soft-bricked device. However, even this did not fix the issue. I have tried locking the bootloader through fast boot, and while it will say that the bootloader has been locked, upon restart it was still unlocked and still having the boot issues. I even ventured as far as doing a ODIN reboot, but still same issue. I have since tried efrant's again, but still the same issues. I have access to fastboot and ODIN, and recovery, although I have not messed around there too much as I have not been able to find any information about that. At this point, I am all out of ideas on what to do. Just some last bits of info.
I was doing this all on a very freshly installed Jelly Bean update. This particular phone has never been rooted or unlocked. I don't really care about having it rooted or unlocked at this point, I just want a working phone.
Please feel free to make any remarks toward my past actions of using toolkits, as I have now since found the light, and any additional advice would greatly be appreciated.

The difficult part now is to understand where did the toolkit fail.
If you ran through the process manually again, and it still bootloops..Have you tried erasing first, then reflashing?
Code:
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase recovery
also, while it's bootlooping, is logcat already running? That could allow some more insight on what's happening.

So out of the blue my Nexus 7 powered off. Now when I power it on it gets stuck at the google logo and will not finish booting. I am stock and have never unlocked or rooted this device. I have access to the boot loader and have tried both wiping the cache and doing a hard reset, both do not help. I am very familiar with rooting android devices, so I thought I would unlocked it and re-flash the rom. Well here is the real problem It will not unlock. It just freezes. So being that it is most likely a hardware issue what are my options? The warranty has expired.
I'm having the exact same issue, in the process of trying a forced flash of stock, of cluster flashing bootlace failed, bit it's "erasing cache" well see what happens, in using Wug's toolkit
That didn't work either, seems like I need to unlock, but it won't
Trying to unlock again
All I want/need is a way to flash stock from a locked/unrooted device, be it from fastboot or ADB, seems not possible or I fail at searching here
Same issue here, is this a new thing that just started happening to people. I cannot even wipe the cache or format the device anymore. It says it's failing to mount various things and some i/o errors.
Happened after restarting on its own one day...
It's been seen since the first devices. Something got corrupted, possibly the bootloader but not always, to where the devices can't be unlocked. Unfortunately there seems to be no solution but sending it in for repair.
So i have searched all over the internet and havent found ant help. My phone is in a bootloop and i can't get out of it, i have tried with Nexus root tool kit to factory reset but just bootloop have tried it twice. Also tried to install factory with TWRP but still bootloop. I have an unlocked bootloader, I also tried to lock it and start with a new factory image but didnät work either . So please help me if you can i'm willing to try anything can't afford a new phone right now.
BIG UPDATE
So now after some work with trying to fx this i have found the problem with it. It's that my phone dosen't install the files that i install with either adb or TWRP. I found this by putting pure nexus rom on the phone and installing it with TWRP and then remove it from the storage. That was when the storage on the phone said it was still zero even when i had choose to install a new rom on the phone. but it still bootloop with the google logo and the four dots that pulse and then reboots.
Another Update
So i tried with installing the pixel rom from the xda forum and it all went well and all with the insallation no errors what so ever but my boot animation changed to pixels but still continue to bootloop still don't know whats happening.
I'm not sure what state your device is in right now. Is the bootloader locked or unlocked? When you tried to lock it, don't try that again, did it lock or did it remain unlocked when you re-booted into the bootloader? Were you able to successfully flash the factory image?
I'd suggest you carefully read thru this and pay particular attention to how to flash a factory image, http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-5x/general/guides-how-to-guides-beginners-t3206930

Not really

Whell when i locked the bootloader it got locked but then when it bootlooped for one to two hours i opened it again and went to ask the pros at xda. I also read through the guide you linked me and did as said in the tutorial but my phone is still bootlooping right now.
Did you successfully manually flash each of the image files in the latest factory image? Bootloader, radio, system, boot, etc.
