Doubt it. There has been talk of axing Google Wallet. Perhaps Sprint is preparing for the removal of the service.

Go into build.prop and change these values:
ro.product.model=
ro.product.device=
to both equal this: GT-I9300
This makes your phone look like the Sprint galaxy nexus.
Reboot your phone and try to open wallet!
You may have to clear google wallet settings, I had to uninstall wallet and reinstall it after the build.prop change.
Hit the thanks button if this helped!

The reason I tried this is because I heard Google temporarily blocked the HTC EVO 4G LTE from accessing Google Wallet. I don't know the exact reason why, but this seems to work at least for now.

I did what you suggested and it activated, and my $100.21 was still in the prepaid card no problem. Here's EXACTLY what I did to keep out of the unsupported device also:
EDIT: REQUIRES ROOT ACCESS (but not HTC UNLOCK, which I do not have)
-Enable SuperSU
-Use ES File Explorer for root explorer (Settings->Root Explorer, give Superuser permission when asked) -> Mount File System (writable)
-Edit build.prop in /system folder as described above (make a backup also so you can revert after activation!)
-Disable root explorer in ES File Explorer
-Disable SuperSU in SuperSU settings
-Clear data for Wallet in Settings->Apps
-Reboot
-Open Wallet, log in
-Add prepaid card
-Close Wallet
-Go to Android Settings->Apps->Downloaded->Wallet and force stop (hoping to keep it from knowing about the next step which is enable SuperSU to revert build.prop and keep away unsupported device message.)
-Enable SuperSU
-ES File Explorer -> Root Explorer -> Mount System
-In /system folder replace build.prop with the backup I made (or just undo the changes manually if you like.)
-Disable Root Explorer
-Disable SuperSU
-Reboot
-Open Wallet and verify operation
-Profit!
Sorry if this is jumbled, have to get to work but excited that it is fixed and hopefully by reverting build.prop no strange behavior will result!
Thanks again jkt97401!

In adb it would be
adb remount
adb shell
# rm -r /system/app/whateverthenameoftheapkis.apk
# rm -r /system/app/whateverthenameoftheapkis.odex
You could also use Root Explorer (or Android Mate, or SU File Manager), and go to /System/App, or use Titanium Backup, and delete that way. Be aware though, deleting the wrong things could seriously bork your install, causing you to need to relash.
Different ROMs have different methods. For example, is your ROM de-odexed? Are all apps stored in /system/app? I'm working on a script that can remove bloatware. Just trying to iron out the kinks.

I can't order from the Market any paid apps because I don't remember credit card info, when will they support paypal or add to your bill?
None of these apps are under system/app
Titanium Backup doesn't even work... I say Force Delete and then it says it will restart my phone twice and then it restarts it and it will sit at that screen where like your getting a update for 10 minutes then I click the power button and it says E: can't find signature or somethin' like that, so I select restart and I'm back to square one...
I am running the stock ROM.

I have the verizon galaxy nexus and i somehow accidentally uninstalled nfc.. Last month i tried installing one of the hacked google wallet ports for the nexus. I installed it through the clockwork recovery, and made sure to make a backup before doing this. That version of google wallet didnt work right, so i just deleted it with root explorer. When i found out that google wallet can now be installed from the market, i immediately downloaded it to try it out, but every time i tried to open it, it would get an error. So i went to my backup and attempted to copy the old nfc files back to the system folder (i/e: NfcGoogle.apk and com.android.nfc_extras.jar), but that failed to work.
So any ideas on how to fix this and get nfc working again?
Im kinda new to android as a whole, this phone is my first smartphone. Im hoping this is a simple fix and i dont have to to a factory restore or anything. My phone is rooted too if that helps, and I still have the google wallet files i intalled too.
The attachment is a screenshot of what my wireless and networks menu looks like.
Any help is appreciated

You shouldn't have installed any hacked Google Wallet in CWM.

Finally just killed it on my phone. Was hoping to skate by on the whole Galaxy II thing but nope. uninstalling/installing an app is easier and less time consuming than manually changing your build.prop and restarting. also, changing your build.prop doesn't fix the problem, it patches the problem. the problem is with the app not your phone, so dont fix your phone -- fix the app.

Working with the new apk, the one draw back is it seems I get more functionality from Vlingo itself than this app. IE car mode and opening of apps.
When I say play a certain song no go, fc. Using Vlingo it works flawless.
patching the app worked for me. Someone on this board posted a pre-patched svoice-patched.apk which worked very well to fix my "network errors". Works fine now, FCs notwithstanding. Not super impressed by the app, feels like a gussied-up vlingo. Ain't no siri.

i didn't say it wouldn't give you your desired outcome, but it didn't fix the problem because the problem isn't the phone -- the problem is the app. by changing your build.prop, you may have introduced other problems that you haven't triggered yet or aren't aware of (such as apps on the market that wont install on gs3 devices).
The Google Plus app updated yesterday. While the update is phenomenal, one thing I've noticed: I am no longer able to make video chats via cellular data. 3. use Root Explorer to browse to /data/data/com.google.android.gsf/databases/gservices.db and click on it
4. then click on “main”

I noticed there's a new version of the wallet app, and from the looks of it, the app itself loads on more devices now because Google is using it for more than just tap and pay. The new T-Mobile SIM cards with the chips in them are only for ISIS. As far as making a "mobile" payment? No. We can only send payment via email with the app. I'm sure they have plans for more integration with other services and other payment methods in the future. It seems to me that if you can send money via email, you should be able to use NFC just like PayPal does, but I guess that's up to Google.

Tmobile atnt and verizon are backing isis, an upcoming competitor to google wallet. So they have not allowed it on our phones..
To clarify, with the new app you no longer need a patched apk or xposed mod. You do need the libs in the flashable zip. You also need to do the app setup while your build.prop is the nexus or sprint values. So some of you have to redo the setup with a modified build.prop (clear data or reinstall to redo the setup)

This worked for me as well. It didn't give me an option to "tap and pay," using the Sprint build.prop. I had cleared Wallet data and reboot but nothing. When I switched to the Galaxy Nexus build.prop, once I reset Wallet and rebooted, I was able to get wallet going, my pin was already attached to my email, which Wallet gave me an option to choose from.
From there, I was able to set-up tap and pay and pick my default payment of choice.
I also noticed a much more lenient "lock" time for Wallet: immediate, 15 minutes, 1 day. I guess if you're running a custom ROM, be sure you don't select "screen on, locked" option for NFC.
I haven't had a chance to use it, as I'm already home for the night, so I'll be testing tomorrow and reporting back.
Has any of you Wallet users been having problems before this new update? Mine suddenly stopped working at CVS and McDonalds, but I can still read and write NFC tags.
I too was missing the tap to pay section after the latest update.
To get it back I uninstalled the latest update then rebooted. Upon reboot the original Google Wallet wouldn't activate.
I then changed the build.prop to the settings in the thread on how to initially install it.

I rebooted and Google Wallet activated. I then went into the play store and let Google Wallet update itself. I ran it to verify that I could see the tap to pay section then modified the build.prop back to the defaults for the Tmobile SG4. and rebooted.

After this reboot I can still see the tap to pay in the latest version from the app store. I will test it at a 7-11 where I have used Google Wallet previously tomorrow but am hopeful it will work properly.
Hope this helps someone else.

1.Do the old Google method mod.
2. Clear data and cache for the app.
3. Update wallet through play store.
4. Let it setup
5. Works like a charm
