From today we can update gMaps Pro to new version 1.24 but not for all. If we want be a beta tester, for update we have to go to page:
http://drmtm.us/getbeta
and send email to developer with our live id. In two days we get email with link to market place and now we can download and install new version.

Ok. Tonight I got email with link to the beta version in the Market place. Street View working incredibly smoothly. Look nice.
Street view looks nice!
I´ll give it a try

Hi, being a betatester for this great app would be nice.
... but on the other hand being able to actually use it since I paid for it before it was pulled from the Marketplace to be later returned as a "different" app to force users to pay again would be even nicer
Wait, Is this an official google maps app, Doesnt sound like it, If it is, They should have used "Google Maps" instead of "gMaps"..
i cannot explore streets in street view, the app show me only the picture of my position but i cannot "walk" through the streets... is this a limit of the app?

I have been using 1.24 for some time without problem but now when I tap on friends list it says I have no friends setup and to add friends via Google Latitude on a desktop pc.
When I sign into Latitude on my pc all my friends are visible, I have uninstalled and re-installed but its still the same.
Is anyone else having problems?

Yes. It gargled yet again. Thank G00gle.
And the worse thing is, there is nothing else in the marketplace to show you where your latitude friends are

Anyone has tried google earth on htc desire??
Its available for desire or not..
It is you can download it for free from the Market. It takes some memory though...
Try Google Sky Map its simply awesome for Desire - just point it up towards the sky and it tells you about all the stars, planets and constellations... simply great!
yes it does work, but as said, it does use some memory.
+1 for skymap though, awesome program!
Yeah it works fine, as does skymap as mentioned above
I can't find it in the market... i search for Google earth... and it comes up with google earth blog gps2google earth, etc... but not the real one... how do i find it?
this should do it....

Found it on droid-life.com, bit odd that its still not in the market, maybe something to do with Google only signing off on the ROM recently but dont think so.
Here's the blog post and download links:

This thread confuses me,
Why not just use google maps and turn on the satellite view?
Fon22
the issue here is that apps that should be available aren't. and there is no explanation from google or htc. that is not good enough.
are there any sites that have all apps? if they are free apps then there will be no problem in downloading them. anyone put a link up?

Im happy that until they have undergone google testing so that they dont delete stuff I need on my phone, I cant use them.
Yes!
Would you rather that they hadn't sold you the phone, until you could download everything..?
If so, go get a refund and wait..
If not, be happy using the phone for what it does now (which is Shyte loads!)

You're completely missing the point. 'Test apps' are not missing from the phone. Protected apps are.
So; established programs such as Paypal, Google Earth, Rockon, etc... are all missing.
It's because of the Build Fingerprint in the build.prop file. Google haven't registered the build on their market system yet. Until that's done, we'll not see protected apps.
If we had root & write access, we could simply change the fingerprint.
In the last couple of days all my iPhone-toting friends have been showing off their Places app which logs their location to their Facebook profile, along with a map link. Apparently it never worked before, but now it does.
It's a total load of cr*p, but in the interests of showing them that Android can do anything the iPhone can (usually better), and also to shut them up, I'd like to know if there's some way I can have that functionality on my Desire. Just so I can do it the once and say "It's a waste of time which is why no-one on Android uses it"
Any ideas?
Android user can also use this feature if you go to the facebook mobile site with your browser. However I have no doubt this feature will pop up in the next facebook app update.

I think the places thing could be a security risk. Even if you don't put your location, a friend can tag you as being in a location. The only way out of this is through changing privacy settings to opt out.

Pretty sure its location specific. I was in the states a couple of weeks ago when they were trialling it there. Came back an it wasn't available in the UK until recently. Still in a testing phase I believe. Will no doubt have a bigger roll out with the next update to the Facebook app.
At present it's only available in the US and the UK, the rest of Europe will receive it soon.
As above it'll probably be in the next Facebook app update, whenever that comes along...
i just made a page for us who seem to get left till last by facebook .. its on facebook.com/pages/Equal-Applications

Google Maps is good for navigation, that's it.
Tom tom (if its the same as the stand alone versions) will have the REAL TIME traffic which is a must to anyone who travels a lot, my tom tom has saved me loads of hours being stuck in traffic by turning off before the jams occur and using alternative routes.
Better news for me would be that IGO has make a apk for the "big guys" devices

Google Maps expands with offline offerings
...
Going offline
Another feature that the Google Maps team said users have been begging for is the ability to use Google Maps in offline mode.
Now, that they've come through with this technology, it turns out it's only for Android users.
But, once Android phone owners enable their GPS and download the maps in offline mode, they can throw away their old paper map, and view their desired location without an Internet connection.
Rita Chen, a Google Maps product manager, said during the demo that users can expect this feature to be available in the "next few weeks."

I'm looking for an application where my wife and I can synchronize our schedules on a Google calendar but with two different user accounts. For example she is working on a Saturday 7 am – 2 PM. She puts it into a calendar and then I will have it synced to my calendar is that even possible?
Never mind. I added her Gmail account to my phone and then I clicked sync calendar
Worked great

Yes, what you've done is going too far and complete overkill. As stated above, just go to the Google Calendar Website, on your pc or Mac, and go to Settings and share your calendar with her. Then go into her Google account and have her share her calendar with you. It will then be visible in your calendar list on your phones to sync.
You are eating unnecessary resources on your phone by doing it the way you are now.

Just noticed today that the Google Fit - Fit Activity App run tracker works on standalone gps on the sw3!
Seemed to work pretty well for me. Ghostracer has not been working so well for me last week or two so it came at a good time.
It does work very well indeed. The fit challenge is now in the fit activity app, but they should really combine all the functions in one app.
I think it's brilliant, saves having a whole load of other fitness trackers to sort through - finally all in one place with one app.
Just one fault/question - it is supposed to be able to track your heart rate if you have it on a Smartwatch, which the SW3 doesn't have. Instead I have the Jabra Pulse Sport for heart rate tracking, which has smart Bluetooth, but I can't for the life of me get it to connect to Google Fit.
Does it map your run for you on a map? Or just calculating distance, etc.

It maps it for you.
I found this out recently as well and have since uninstalled other run tracking apps
I use now endomondo, because of gps... however it doesn't pre-plot a route for you to follow, only plots where you've been. gtdRR, so you're saying fit does provide a plotted route? Wow, then I will install fit and try it.
update: The app was already on the watch, tried it but I never saw a map? Endomondo lets you see a map

you just start a Fit activity and it connects to gps automatically even when not connected to the phone.
I just find it strange the it always shows me a slower pace than ghostracer
How does it sync the GPS data after the run? In my case it seems to stay in the watch forever unlike Ghostracer, which syncs very nicely.
You are right, a 5km run can take more than 1 hour to be visible on the phone.
During this time, the run disappear from the watch, and you won't have any idea if the data is lost or not.
The experience is horrible.
But at the end, that's fine, after the frustration
Yeah have the same experience, has anyone find a easy way to export from google fit to endomondo as I have a challenge going on there? right now im using takeout.google.com but that takes for ever.
My Endomondo smartwatch app keeps uninstalling (non english setup). so I use google fit.
And lost a workout do to Endomondos faling sync.
