Just wanna know if txting canada has an extra charge fee or something. Not sure if plans matter or what but I'm hoping there's a simple "no" answer to this before I go and check my account to see if I can find it

I read a very confusing thread on sprint about thisss. I'm still not sure but can anyone confirm this:
If I have the unlimited data place and unlimited texting, I can text canada with no extra charges. And if I don't have them (which I do) then I have to pay the 20 cents per txt?

They can't charge you for where your text goes. There is no export fee on text. Now the person getting the text might have a import fee.....just kidding although the other person might be charged not due to being in Canada but because their plan sucks. Just my 2 cents

But they can charge for international texts, which is what I want to know, is canada considered international or domestic?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda app-developers app
Depends on the plan, but if you have an Epic, then you should have unlimited domestic text and data, which means SMS to Canada is free.

Unless you play an additional $10 per month for international text messaging and only have a wireless plan with unlimited domestic messaging, each text message send from anywhere in The States, as quite a few Canadians aka Our friends from the Great North refer to us, each text message is $0.20 to send and free to receive. BTW, the blue Skullies are righteous dude in sound!

To get unlimited SMS/MMS to Canada, you have to add an additional $10 for Unlimited International Messaging so you can send SMS/MMS from the US to anyone with a Canadian wireless phone # even if that person were to be standing next to you in PA. LOL! Otherwise, it'll cost you $0.20/message sent and free for receiving.

Canada is not domestic; that's why you have to show your passport when you go there. And I pay 20 cents per text. I don't recall if its only incoming, or both in and out. But it definately is not free unless you pay the upgrade.

You should have called through Google Voice if you wanted free voice calls to Canada. If you have Google Voice-Sprint integration, ask for a reimbursement.
As far as SMS is concerned, Canada is considered domestic.

I have been chatting with this girl on Craig list who wants to get rid of her sgs3 to help pay for an iphone later this week....
I know all the sprint / tmobile phones on Craig list eventually are blocked for non payment / reported stolen...
To my understanding att doesn't care about this stuff... At least last year the un didn't..
Is that still the case? Don't want to get this good deal on a phone just to have to unlock and sell it again..
Want to buy it for my sister

What if somebody opens an att account.. Sells their phone on Craig list and stops payments to it.. Will att block the phone they got with the contract?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
Just meet up at the store make the purchase there. If the seller is unwilling to go there then tell them to screw off. They will have security cameras all over the place so there is evidence that this person is selling you the phone; and you will also have a witness that this is taking place so if later they claim that they never sold it to you and it was in fact stolen then you have some evidence in your corner. Legally speaking nothing is concrete but you have to think as litigious as possible because scum is everywhere.
And if you want to get really ridiculous you could type up a document stating that they will in fact pay in full the remainder of the contract and/or pay any fees necessary to keep "the specific ImeI" from being blocked from att service. You would have to have them sign it in front of a witness and a notary. If I were spending more than 400 bucks I would get this ridiculous. Then if you have to take them to small claims court this contract will be as good as any other contract and any judge worth a damn will force them to pay the damages.

They should make em suffer with wimax.
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda app-developers app
They're shifting everyone to LTE - I think - to try and start taking down WiMax in some of these markets. I'll be interested to see if any new devices will be able to use the Clear band anytime soon.
All in all will be an interesting year for Sprint. If the deals go their way they may be in nice shape for the rest of the CY.
Only devices using wimax now are the multi band hotspots and clears routers/hotspots. No new wimax phones are being produced, but older stock maybe rebranded a la the epic touch on boost and vm
I like to break stuff!
I used to work for boost.. To this day customer service sucks... Virgin is the worst though
Even my service provider cricket wireless is becoming 4G. And it started with the wackest phones 4 years ago while sprint. Was claiming they had it . And had better smartphones. Now cricket has the s3. And is going 4G LTE this year. Not even sprint is that Fast

Then again, I had Cricket not too long ago (switched from Cricket to Sprint when I got the Note 2 on opening day) with my EVO 3D and they make you pay for each GB of data per month.
I had 2GB and was paying 60 a month. It sucked when the data speeds slowed.
Think it was an extra ten for another GB.
In actuality, their data is not unlimited.
I called and complained to them stating I thought everything was unlimited and they said, "well, not that."
Lol.

Yes I am authorized for 10 plus lines on my "account". But the limit per "plan" is supposed to be only 5 lines. So you can have 2 plans with 5 lines each, but not 10 on one plan. Unless you open a business plan.
