Firstly, my SGS3 is completely stock and not rooted.
I've been having issues with games not being compatible and then seeing other people playing the game that was incompatible on my phone. It started with Modern Combat 3 which refused to download the additional data because of a "connection issue". I contacted Gameloft who sent me a new APK which had the same problem. They then sent me Asphalt 6 and Gangstar Rio: City of Saints all of which had the same problem. I have since tried MIBIII and NOVA 3 which both said that they were not compatible with my handset and to request a refund.
Apart from when Gameloft sent me a game, all the games were purchased/downloaded from the Play store.
Is there something that I am doing wrong or is there a work around that I haven't been able to find? I've searched a stack of threads and haven't found an answer to hit the nail on the head.
Any help would be appreciated.

All of the games you mentioned have worked (or work) on my S3.. i dont know why you are having issues.
NOVA 3 works fine for me, but Modern Combat 3 even does not shows up in playstore on S3, and if i try through web it says it's not compatible with my handset, i've non-rooted stock ROM in my S3, i've already purchased MC3 earlier for my S2

Same, MC3 and 9MM doesn't even show up in the app store.
This is one of the reason i'm unable to ditch my iOS devices
had no problems with nova 3 on s3
i have seen a video of a person playig N.O.V.A on his s3.
one more incompatable game for s3 is fifa 12 ( i really want to play)
These games work on my rooted stock rom with chainfire3d and nvidia's drivers installed. The market fix males them visible too.

Fifa 12 showed up for me . And it wrks sort of , looks good but sounds very choppy . Same as real racing 2 bad sound

I hava a rooted 989 but I use the stock rom from T-Mobile. Wll I downloaded N64oid from slide me a few weeks ago and most games work pretty good. The problem that I'm having is that when ever I play any racing game after a few minutes whichever part of the screen that you use for the gas peddal will become unresponsive and the vehicle will slow to a stop. If I let my finger off for a few seconds it'll come back every once in a while. It only happens with the N64oid app, I also use FPSE (Playstation Emulaor) and it works great. Before I had this phone I had a Samsung Captivate and then a LG Thrill with at&t and both phones ran this app flawlessly. Every once in a while the Thrill would have this problem but that was only with a few games where the Galaxy S II does it with every single racing game. Any non racing game that I play works great. Anyone else having this problem and does anyone have a solution? So far I've tried remapping the buttons to be on different parts of the screen and downloading roms from different websites.

Sounds like theres a compatibility issue. Have you tried another version of n64oid? I haven't had that problem on mine.

I originally had the free version from Slide ME but a update became available it said the only way to update was to buy the app. Since it already wasn't working with racing games on my 989 I thought what the hell and paid the $5. But even witht he updated app racing games don't work. Can I ask what version your using?
Same issue to with Mario Kart 64. Do you mind letting us know what version your using that is free from this issue.

I just wanted to know what games work for you guys. I figured most games would be supported because of Qualcomm Adreno graphics. But I tried Mass Effect: Infiltrator which just crashes, and MC3 and Nova3 just say unsupported. So I just wanted to know, what graphically good games you all have been able to get working.

Has anyone tried Chanfire 3d on the US S3? It worked perfectly on my s2, but now when I install it it reboots the phone, after driver install, and the app is missing? I tried to re-install the app, but says 'incompaitable update'.???

Max Payne does NOT work. You can move and aim but all the other controls are missing and the touch setup is grayed out. You can even bring up the menu to quit once youre in
It's BS about all these games that are not supported for the U.S. Galaxy S3. Millions of people would buy these games and so many do not even work. I have weaker device but at least it has way more high-end games for it. Either that or I can spend more money and get way more high-end games for my iPad.

If you change your build.prop file ALL games work. You simply make apps think youre on a different device....hence the gt-i9100 signature you see below when im typing this on my i747 gsiii

I upgraded from my s2 to the sprint s3 and the following are no longer playable. Has anyone had any luck getting them to work ?
2. Dead Space (crashes when loading game)
3. Dungeon Defenders ( crashes on loading l)
4. Dark Meadow ( crashes when opening)
8. Star Blitz (unconfirmed)
9. Tiger Woods 2k12 (unconfirmed)
Keeping some added items as unconfirmed until more than 1 person reports the same issue.
If anyone has conflicting info please share !

Well it shows it is "not compatiable with my device" but when I got my phone (like day 1) no such distinction was made so I reinstalled it fresh....now that and max payne and dark meadow don't show up easily

Sure did. Didn't see that other post. All the games I play run pretty good, but then again, I don't play many games on my phone.
star blitz will not even open enough to download resource package. i think this is a resolution issue, as it worked fine on my s2, but NOT my transformer prime OR s3. i emailed them regarding it, ill post back my findings.
tiger woods 2k12 doesn't work, paid $5 for that shiz too. worked perfectly fine on my og epic, so there's no excuse. doesn't work on nexus 7 either.

9mm by Gameloft also says it's not compatible with this device . Bought it when I had Evo3d. Strange cause this device is more powerful than 3d and it was compatible with that. Guess it's software issues?

I took and transfered the apk for dead space from my s2 and other then some sound crackle from time to time it plays fine. Any of the apks I've downloaded from the net would just crash after loading like already mentioned.

ok so you downloaded the Horn game and you want to play it on your samsung galaxy s2!
now we do to i have downloaded it myself and trying to find a way to get it working with Chainfire 3D :good:

Horn supports Tegra 2, too. So, just use the NVidia plugin using Chainfire 3D. That should work. But the biggest problem is Chainfire3D doesn't yet work with Jelly Bean, which is a huge issue for me. Hope Chainfire updates the app ASAP...

Any updates on this? I know it'll take some time, but I have 4.0 4 ics and shadow gun thd and sonic ep ii run fantastically but horn just closes after a second or so. Our phones should totally be able to play this game.

u must have used Lucky patcher. Launch Lucky then exit out, then install the game. It should certainly works

ZombieWood is a good option. Others: Wild Blood, The dark knight and the best of all, Modern Combat 4.
Other new great game; but not made by Gameloft, is Bladeslinger.
I'm pleased to report that if asked nicely, Gameloft will provide a direct download of version 1.0.2 of NOVA 3.
I anticipate also getting MC4 for sure.
Got MC4 and Asphalt 7. Got to disable AdrenoBooster for Asphalt, still have some FCs. MC4 works great.

Good choice with mc4 its a great game. I got that, wildblood and i might get asphalt 7 not sure if i want to yet becsause i dont play racing games very often and i already have nfs mw. Whats better asphalt 7 or nfs mw?

Asphalt 7 - The visual is not so realistic, gameplay like arcade. Great soundtrack. Multiplayer mode
My favorite is MW, but asphalt is an great game too.

Nice i love the fifa games i had fifa 12 but uninstalled it because of low memory. What size sd card do you use to fit everything? And what rom do you use that runs high end games the smoothest?

Im using the same rom (my play is basically mostly for gaming now) but i need to buy a larger sd card my current one is a 8 gb class 4 i can only fit 4 to 5 games on there. Hopefully ill get atleast a 16 gb one soon

I haven't played NFS:MW yet. Asphalt 7 looks bad in screenshots but actually looks and feels really good while playing. I would compare it to NFS:U on the PC, except instead of drifting mode it has a big powerslide feature they call drifting But it's actually really enjoyable. I didn't enjoy the analog control much, but using the gamepad on the Play is great. If I really want to play a simulation, I can play Gran Turismo 2!
I've only played a little MW4 and Nova 3 so far. I think Nova 3 is actually the better of the two games from a technical perspective. It feels much more responsive and the graphics come across better. It's also better from the perspective of playability on small screens. In MW4 you're expected to shoot stuff that's just a couple pixels across. It has autoaim, but it can be pretty hard to even see what you need to shoot on a 4" screen. But this is just a first reaction to the game engine, really, not the game overall.
I havent tried nova 3 yet. But i heard they removed xperia play controls. Is that true?

I don't even know if it's true, but if you see above in this thread, I emailed them and asked them for version 1.0.2 which I understood to have Xperia Play controls (from another forum thread, if I find it again I will link it) and they sent me a direct download link to the right version. I can confirm that version 1.0.2 works on my Xperia Play with full gamepad support including analog controls.
Im already have nova 3 1.0.2 version, but the touch analog got problem when on vehicles. Really annoying to control it but already finish the game.
