For teh stock email app to work on our phone, you have to rename the apk to SecEmail.apk (the same as the samsung one) and remove the existing SecEmail.apk and SecEmail.odex.
You are better off using one from a custom Nexus ROM that is de-odexed.
You will have to be rooted though.

Was wondering if anyone knew of any flashable keyboard mods. I'd like black with ICS letters and outline. If you could direct me that would be stellar! Thanks in advance!
Pull the keyboard from icsourcery v2.0. Just replace the apk with the stock one in root explorer and reboot.

I prefer to stay on stock 4.2.1 sprint nexus but also want to be able to use modified apps such as modded MMS and a few others. How would I go about being able to do this? Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

you can stay on stock but it would be best to go ahead and root the phone so you can replace apk files with the modded ones you want. just use mskips toolkit to root, takes just a few minutes to do.

Thanks a lot, I checked it out but here is my main dilemma. I love stock android and love the stock messaging app but prefer a different theme on it. I get that obviously on custom roms but am not able to send out receive mms using lte/cdma on a custom rom but have no problem at all on stock. Any reason for this?

Hmmmm....not sure. I've had prob wit MMS on some ROMs but usually find a fix... Im pretty sure you'll be all good. Pm me if u have MMS issues. I'm sure its fix able.

I am always on lte here hence the reason I use lte/cdma instead of just cdma. Mms works fine on sprint stock using lte/cdma but only on cdma network on custom roms.

I've used MMS on all custom ROMs no prob on lte/CDMA...I too get lte here in chicagoland area. Send a few MMS messages a day. There are def some ROMs wit MMS issues but not all. Most of the time its being talked about on thread if its a real issue.
