[Q] how to clone apps - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

I play Rage of Bahamut and have activated another account on my iPad. I know with a jail broken iPad you can make duplicate apps so you can switch between accounts without logging out. However, I want to do this on the go with my phone; is there anyway to do this on android? So I could have 2 rage of bahamut apps each logged into a separate account?

Take a look at this.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fahrbot.apps.switchme&hl=en

Too clunky its only for 1 app so haha I'd rather log out and log back in.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app

Ok that's the best I got then sorry.

Rage of Bahamut
I too play RoB and would really appreciate any devs willing to look into this. Will gladly donate a gratuity for anyone that can come up with a simple solid solution. Thanks

cloning apps on android
You can clone apps with apk editor which makes the the apk then download/use the apks I provided to optimize clone and resign the apk so you can use the same app mmultiple times with different log ins hope this helps

I think it doesn't work in android 5.0. I recently updated to android 5.0 and now it shows the folder "sdcard" And it's empty, hitting the back button then goes to a completely empty screen.

any idea how to clone an app without any appeditor ? just with text editor? or any other solution,?
because I need to clone viber

Try App Cloner. It's in the Play store. Very easy to use, no editing manifests, no root - you really just press a button. Doesn't work for all apps (no Whatsapp, no Facebook Messenger) but Facebook, Instagram and Twitter can be cloned. And there's lots of tuning options... On ART runtime it can inject custom code into the app...you can block tracking or ad hosts!

It's not compatible with CM. I like how it works with stock lollipop but doesn't like CM13 for some reason. Are there any CM(13) compatible app cloners?

This new app NoxApp+ is also a powerful one. Totally free with no ads.

How to copy the premium feature in a cloned application
Hello,
I bought the premium version of APP CLONER, working well and I cloned most of the pro applications like premium live wallpapers like Duck 3D LIVE WALLPAPER, with its premium features also in the cloned version to be used in the same phone with different setting. But some applications like RAINPAPER and Season 3D live wallpaper failed to clone the premium features I bought from play store. Anybody knows how to copy the premium features also to the cloned versions, kindly help me
Thanking You

Must have apps?

This is my first android, and was wondering what apps are a must like memory cleaners and task killers to just great apps
Thanks!

Hi this is my first android as well (got mine yesterday)
I must admit i havn't really installed that many apps yet.. but i can recommend the "google goggles" and "asphalt 5"
-TB-
I would also like to know.
Performance increasing apps?
Useful (swiss army knife) apps?
Amazing recreational must haves?
Thanks.
AutoKiller - memory managment
Barcode Sanner - for getting links to apps from the internet
If using mytracks:
Linda file manager - to import tracks
My track editor
A nice widget is smooth calendar if you have a lot of appointments.

Shazam is awsome

I love the SMS popup program
Australian phone - Found some of the best ones were ES Task Manager, Handcent for SMS/MMS and the ability to change tones via, Camera 360 for an app which enhances everything you can do with the camera, SMS backup to backup to Gmail account and Wheres my Droid which allows you to send a message to the phone when it is on silent which takes the silencer off and triggers the ringtone, enabling you to find it if you have misplaced it. Also another handy one is 3G watchdog which keeps an eye on your data usage.
I like:
AutoKiller (needs root)
Launcherpro
Homeswitcher
Appremover
Appsinstaller
MyBackup Pro
Fancywidget
Extended Controls
LeshaK's update.zip found here
I'm going to have to second launcherpro, really great app.
I can't find fancywidget in the market, is it under a new name maybe?
Also, while shazam is really nice and very accurate for commercial radio, is there another app that's aimed at more obscure/australian music music (I listen to Triple J if that helps)?
Finally can someone recommend a good news widget for australia.

I have also noticed this, although some songs arent registered in the shazam database

Dimmer is useful if you like to keep display brightness down (more than you can adjust in system settings) and save battery.

[APP] Multi-User App Share

I have created an app that will help share apps across users on google's new 4.2 multi user feature.
Thanks to mentose457 and unwired for giving me the idea.
see this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1994169)
It works by removing package elements from user's package-restriction.xml file to add the app and adding the package element back to remove the app. (located at \data\system\users\10\package-restrictions.xml where 10 is the user's id)
This is quickly thrown together and will likely have a ton of bugs, but I wanted to go ahead and get it out there for testing.
- This is BETA
-You must have ROOT
- This changes system data on non documented files it could screw something up.
- I'm not responsible for any problems this causes or lost data or bricked or broken devices
- please use cation
- it is currently built to run on main user to enable or disable apps on secondary users (once root is fully working on secondary users I will see about making it run correctly on secondary user's account)
- not tested thoroughly with paid apps*
- does not currently support system apps**
- due to the way I pull the app list from the package manager some installed apps may not show as available to add/remove
- apps installed first on a secondary user's profile will probably not show in the list to add/remove
*paid apps seemed to work but I did not have internet access during testing. My theory is that any paid apps that use Google's license verification will not work or not work for long. So adding your Google Account to the secondary user's play store is probably still the best way to share paid apps.
**The entries in the xml for system apps is different. Therefore I will have to research them more before getting it to work or deciding not to mess with those apps. Currently some will show not installed on other users even though they are and removing/adding them will not work correctly.
------> DOWNLOAD HERE https://play.google.com/store/apps/...tm_medium=forum&utm_campaign=app_announcement
I'd love to get feedback to what is working and what is not. Also if anybody figures out anything more about the package-restriction.xml file I'd love to hear it. Especially when it comes to system apps.
Thanks mate added my sons Google account and it is all running perfectly. Seperate saves and account details for apps and allowing me to share my paid ones with him
First review on play store is up.
Will have a mess around with apps and report back but it appears to be running sweet at the moment
Cheers danny...

It wasn't meant as a negative comment, as I think this app is very useful.
I tried this with ten games and all worked fine (free and paid) except Retro Racing. It works with primary user but crashes with secondary user.

Should work on any tablet running 4.2 (or phone if your custom rom enables the multiple user profiles)

Currently I only have it available in the market to tablets to avoid confusion for people wondering why it doesn't work with their phone. Maybe I will change that since only nexus devices or phones with custom roms are running 4.2. Those users tend to be a little smarter and know if their phone has multiple user profiles or not.
Here is a link to the apk for anybody that can't see it in the market.

The shared folder idea is interesting but beyond the scope of this app. Probably could do it with symlinks or something (not very knowledgeable in linux). Maybe I will look into it and either make another app or find a way to make it fit in with this app.
Yes. Symlinking the photos/music folders outside /data/ should work. But I don't have a 4.2 device(nor willing to set up an emulator) so I'm unsure.
Looking forward to trying on my p5113 CM 10.1

network access is for connecting to internet for ads and also for ACRA (Application Crash Report for Android) it basically sends error reports to me to help fix errors. It can be disabled under settings if you do not want it reporting errors.

Have you downloaded a free app from the Play Store lately?
A lot of apps do this to make money. Usually it installs some kind of search app.
Uninstall some recently installed apps and see if they go away.
Are you rooted? If not, its not possible for an app to install other apps in the background without user confirmation, or so I've picked up on from my reading.
Sent from my PG06100 using xda premium
Sort your apps by installation date, and post the last dozen here.
I don't know if it's worth installing an anti-malware app at this point, but you can try Addons Detector. That might be able to find the offending app.
And odds are that what you see as apps for the Hobbit and whatever are only shortcuts placed on your homescreen by a bad developer. Either way, I'd be concerned and upset. I hope you will find the cause of this and go back to the Play Store to comment/rate as needed (unless you sideloaded it..)
Both are being advertised on Facebook this week sounds like you clicked on it from there.

You can remove anything that has, to do with AT&T. Navigator, AT&T hot spot etc.
Not sure if your rooted or not. But if you are, and your going into the phone system deleting stuff. Just make sure not to delete anything that has to do with Google!
Another thing you can do without rooting. Is you can disable any app you choose to. And it will not show up in the app drawer!

I would hope on Sprint phone, there isn't anything with AT&T on it, LOL
I don't think there is a list. As the above eluded to, if you're rooted, which I assume is the case, make a backup of everything with Titanium Backup. So if you delete something you shouldn't have, you can restore without having to do a Nandroid restore; I would confirm your Nandroid backup actually works too. You may not realize till later that you delete something you shouldn't have. I've Google Play bork all of sudden days later when I tried going into it, and after removing several other items.
I haven't had issues with:
Gmail
Goolge Plus
Samsung Media Hub
Kies
Yahoo News
Yahoo Finance
VPN Client (this is waste since Android has it build in)
Voicemail
Trim
Google Talk
Sprint Zone
SNS (has a facebook icon, but don't know what it does)
Samsung Apps
Popup Browser
MyFiles
MusicFX
Music Player
Music Hub
HTML Viewer
Game Hub
Favorite Contacts
Dropbox
Allshare
any and all wallpapers
You can remove Youtube too. You'll just need to use a web browser install to access it.
Some of the apps I removed were because I use a different app to do the same function such as K9 email, Google Music and ES File Explorer. I usually remove Downloads, but keep the download manager. I believe downloads is just a shortcurt to the download directory, which can be accessed easily with the file explorer app.
I'm just usually weary of the TB listing that start with "com.". I think those are more system applications.
Beyond that, it's trial and error.
If you're unsure about something, but want to test it, you can always try freezing it in Titanium Backup as well. It'll still be there, but the will inaccessible for use on the phone till unfrozen.
Mod moved me to the sprint forum from at&t haha. Thanks for the help ive been slowly debloating this phone.

Get rid of freakin GOOGLE PLAY SERVICES

Let me make this clear, this thread is not about getting rid of Google services but google play services....
Being a GNEX user we have cherished so many updates from 4.0.1 to 4.4.4, courtesy of some gr8 devs and teams. Every update gave us the courage to give a sarcastic look at some of the flagships still lagging behing, but deep down inside every power GNEX user knew that those updates aren't making the phone better simply bcoz its not designed for it.It all started with the arrival of brutal "Google Play Services".
TBH we all got scroogled however we are not ashamed of it coz if a service is good then there is no point in not using it, but the experience we get across different devices creates a different opinion about the entire service and thats what happened with play services..
Taking google play services out of ur phone gives u hell a lot of advantage but the right alternatives. I decided to take it out of my GNEX and now i am one of the Happiest men on the planet who uses open source apps wherever possible.
I am about to list the alternatives i used and the experience i got....
I am a LiquidSmooth or Vanir user combined with the dirtyness of DirtyV kernel, F2FS, ART, xlouder patch...
Market : Since i dont flash Gapps no Play Store but FDROID is gr8, clean and simple. For apps unavailable at FDROID i use APKLEECHER
Browser : Of course Firefox and Lightning browser both available in FDROID. I use firefox for some impt. stuffs like mobile banking, etc and lightning browser for daily browsing that includes social networks fb, g+.
Music Player : Ur choice but i am a huge lover of Noozy.
Video Player :VLC available at FDROID :highfive:
Office Apps : Office Mobile, Microsoft does a gr8 job there.
Email Client : AOSP or K-9 mail available at FDROID
Proxy : Obviously Orbot by Guardian Projects available at FDROID
IM Clients : It was easy for me since most of my friends dont use Hangouts but whatsapp...pls for the sweet love of god please try Telegram available at FDROID. It got encryption too and open source. I am working on migrating my friends to Telegram. Also i do use ChatSecure available at FDROID for my gtalk and facebook accounts chat... :fingers-crossed:
Now comes the most impt part,
Cloud,Contacts and Cal Syncs : This is the hardest part u can come across, i had my solution OWNCLOUD
i have a raspberry pi and i turned it to an OWNCLOUD server, easiest way is to Check out ARKOS if u have a rpi or beaglebone black. With that OWNCLOUD i can instantly upload photos, videos just like g+ and also using an app DAVDROID at FDROID u can sync ur calender and contacts to ur Mobile. :good:
Maps : I use OsmAnd which is an ON/Offline maps app where u can download data to ur phone. Its pretty decent for finding directions but dont expect the sophistications of GMAPS, btw i m happy with OSMAND but at some situations i do use maps.google.com at firefox. :victory:
Youtube : Viral Lite downloaded with apkleecher.com...much better than Youtube. :cyclops:
Search : DuckDuckGo available at FDROID. Google Now will be one huge feature u got to sacrifice
Any free apps can be downloaded from apkleecher.com.
Btw regarding the updates : FDROID apps can be updated easily but others, yeah i know thats pain in the ass but thats a sacrifice you got to make to get rid of play services.
After these things i got a fluid phone with extra 45mins of SOT on maguro..
THE DRAWBACKS : In the recently concluded GOOGLE I/O, google nailed the fragmentation issue by announcing that from now on all security patches will reach via Google play services which enables to secure even 2.3 devices.
However those updates will definitely added to the AOSP branch which our beloved DEVS will make use of
please comment if u have any ques and try getting rid of play services and have fun......
Thanks for sharing this info. I'm going to follow your instructions. I'd like to see a "new system" by replacing all the pieces

There are lot of 3rd party stores like appbrain, 1mibile market as u mentioned, I tried it recently it's gud but there are few security issues when u use them. As I mentioned security patches are about to be sent through GPS, without them I won't trust any 3rd party app store except FDROID....BTW we r free to choose and I got to admit that 1mobile is pretty but I felt the laginess after few days, during app installs phone lagged heavily just like in play store..

@pvkiniyan95 Buddy, I've been wanting to do this for so so long. Read a lot about it, but read that some games and apps need google services to work. I got a lot of games on my device, for my son. Did you encounter any app that wouldnt work?
Also, I've got a couple dedicated servers to my disposal. Can they be used to create my owncloud service?
I really am all geared up to do this.

honestly i dont play games at all in my gnex besides afaik Games dont depend upon google play services completely, they are just optional to store scores on cloud, i think games might work. Regarding owncloud, yes u could if u have a domain to, head over to owncloud.org and they have a good guide over there....:fingers-crossed:
Thanks for this!
Telegram is really fast and has no delay since it doesn't depend on Google cloud server. But on 1mobile there's a newer version of it. I guess that one drains more battery that the old one at fdroid. I really love it I think I'll tell my friends to migrate. But which version of it is better. It's kind of conflicting having fdroid and 1mobile at the same time

I don't trust 1mobile, I'll suggest to go with fdroid one

In terms of security overall? So updating one by one checking on apkleecher would be the only option? Because fdroid only detects some of the apps. My battery has improved though, so I think I might not go back to Google services maybe until I get a new phone with larger battery. And even then I'll give it a second thought

I am mostly trying to move to open source apps, also u can use the apps without updating as long as we want coz they will be stable and work well...nowadays most of the apps notify u when there is an update, spend a few mins in the weekend to update them...technically I felt 1mobile is just another Google play service coz they all work with Google analytics ads etc etc etc....choice is urs

I didn't know there were that many people who didn't like running gapps. I don't really have any issue using gapps and google play, but it's nice to know there are other options out there. Thanks for sharing this.
Is not that we don't like them. Is what they do to our battery what we don't like.
