International s3 boot and shutdown animation

This is not my work. Mopral in the international s3 forum pulled this from his phone and told me what to do and it works.
Original forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1729184
I would back up ur original files instead of over writing them.
Boot files go to /system/media
Shutdown file goes to /system/media/video/shutdown
Make sure to set proper permission. If u don't kno them check the original files

Here is the power on sound from the international s3 and a custom power off sound that maches the power on sound all provided by chadster214. Check bottom of post.
thanks

You accidentally a few words.
Shutdown file actually goes in /system/media/video/shutdown
Also, I got the same sounds when I swapped in the international versions. Do they both have the same sound or is the sound located in a different file in a different place?
I believe they are the same sounds. Thanks for the tip I've changed the op

I would like to remove the sound from the startup and shutdown animations, but some quick googling around didn't turn up any way to edit .qmg files.
Do you happen to know how to edit them or have mute versions of the .qmg files?
what about the sounds???
I don't kno how to modify the sounds I was assisted in doing this mod.

Animation Sounds
I manage to extract the sounds off of the international SGSIII ROM. I noticed samsung only place a poweron sound so I made a poweroff sound to match with it. simply extract the files into /system/media/audio/ui.
I hope you guys like the poweroff sound .
feel free to add this on the OP.

You cannot edit .qmg files, only samsung has the program to do that.
You can however delete those files, so you dont have to listen to the sounds.
You can also replace the qmg files with other .qmg files from different devices. such as the international boot animation, instead of the sprint one.
once a kernel is developed, that has init d support, and custom boot animation support, we can add any boot animation.zip or boot animation.sanim to the system/media files, and system/media/video/shutdown for the shutdown animation, which is shutdown.zip typically.
this is the same with any samsung device.
Thanks! Boot and Shutdown animations works flawlessly on AT&T SGH-i747 Galaxy S3.
anyway this could be made into a bootanimation.zip

Unfortunately no. But if u delete the custom boot animation (boot animation.zip) then the stock will play. The international is considered stock. Anything ending .qmg is "stock".

What does the boot animation look like. is it just Samsung logo that has a blue halo? That's all I get. Even deleted the stock ones.

Bootanimation Motorola!

Can somebody make this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1900182 for our Xperia S ICS 0.51?
TX in advance
You can Install this animation with Rom Tool Box Pro BUT its not fullscreen because the XPS has another Displayresolution ;(
If someone could manage this Problem and we have an Fullscreen Animation from this it would be awesome

I manage to get the graphic going - haven't get the sound yet ! Will look into it - but this will do for now.
Motorola_Droid - bootanimation. Use Root Explorer (or similar app) replace /system/media/bootanimation.zip Set permission to rw--r-r-.

The one I posted was resized to fit...however you can just change the desc.txt to correct resolution. That way graphic is better. I couldn't figure out to get the sound...it's suppose to be bootanim.mp3, but then the graphic wont load. So I'm stuck.

If all else fails , make a fold on your SD-Card named ``Ringtones`` and copy some loud stuff there . Then when you select the ringtone it should be there
I know flasht my gio again with cm7.2 from marcin
Sound of all the notifactions R loud enough for me to here on my work now.
The only thing that does not work is the stk app.
It is there but it does nothing @ all. Maby someone know how to get it working????

4. ENJOY!
Great idea and nice work
Mine doesn't sound like a normal tone, more like a beep. Is this normal?
This is fantastic thank you! Would it be possible to edit and switch out all other water droplet effects? I find it rather annoying. As well as the lockscreen on/off tones. I'd like to completely rid those though

Hello OP. First let me thank you for your help.
Now, let me show my case:
I am on Cyanogenmod 10.1.3 and flashed this animation:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1193456
And it looks great, the animation is there, but the sound is not.
I have tried System/etc and System/Media/Audio/Ui to put the .ogg file in. To no avail.
Provided you know how to port animations, I wonder if you would know where tu put the sound file in my ROM, (Stable Cyanogenmod 10.1.3 with its original kernel). Or what to enable in my system (of course my sound is enabled, the animation even runs the lowbattery.ogg file when starting-up with less than 10%).
Thank a bunch in advance!.

Hi try changing the extension to .mp3
Hi,
Did try with Cyanogenmod 4.1.3 and now on 4.2 and it wont work no matter if I set the file in .wav, .mp3, or .ogg format. In either of those folders.
I really do not understand why it wont play the sound.
Please help me, bro.
