But that is not so much a ROM as a program run within a ROM. And it has far fewer functions ATM.

Hmm... I cannot think of any mobile OS that allows for more functionalities than Windows Mobile at the moment.
Please define "very poor", e.g. specific aspects that you hope other mobile OS may be able to fare better?

And, with the vast number of independent developers writing software for WM, even if the core OS doesn't do something, there will be and add on that does!
pound for pound, windows mobile still has the most functions, not counting 3rd party developed applications..
Generally, WM is better pound for pound.. (IMHO of course)
Now I'm currently with Verizon Wireless. The service is exceptionally well. Now I know the HD2, or HTC Leo is rumored to debut on T-Mobile. I know there's an HTC Passion or HTC Dragon coming to Verizon Wireless, with the exact same stats of The HTC HD2 or HTC Leo. I've been a fan of Windows Mobile especially as of lately with the Windows Mobile 6.5. Android doesn't have the eye candy I'm looking for and it really turns me off they only allow you 256MB for applications on your phone. Windows Mobile allows you to install apps to your SD card, which is a major plus for me. Plus there are rumors that Windows Mobile may get access to the Android Marketplace.
With that being said, I want to get the HTC Passion, but I'd like to have Windows Mobile 6.5 installed on it, instead of the Androids 2.0. Is that possible? I know it can work the other way around, but can it work this way? Please let me know ASAP....if so, can anyone tell me how?

I would like to know this as well...
I am pretty sure I am going to convert to Android soon, but I would feel a lot more comfortable with the transition knowing that I could go back to WM if I change my mind... or at least that the possibility exists and is being worked on.

This is the most failed thread I've ever read.
where can i get windows 7 for my dopod 818pro..is it possible to install it
Ok everyone listen... There is no device on the market that will support Windows Phone 7.
Windows Phone 7 has very steep hardware requirements.
1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor
8GB Flash Storage
3.5mm Head-Phone
GPS, Compass, Accelerometer, Bluetooth, FM Radio Support
800x480 or 480x320 screen Resolution
4-Point Capacitive Display.
Only 3 Front Facing Hardware Buttons
There's only one device that even comes close and that's the HTC HD2 and it's not even getting a upgrade because of the buttons, well not officially. I believe in you XDA-Dev's

it is possible, as the hardware is better then some phones running Windows Mobile, but why would you wan it on your beloved Desire?!

With TeamViewer you can remote into a Windows desktop, but it must be running on a networked computer.

I realize that, but there is zero point to running windows on a phone. As an alternative, I suggested a remote desktop solution. Sorry you didn't like it.
