I trien flashing a ROM on my xperia play, after flashing an apropiate kernel. it now keeps getting stuck on the doomlord kernel booting screen or on the sony logo/ (i have tried flashing different kernels) i have an unlocked bootoader, xperia play r800i uk firmware or whatever .62, i tried flashing an ics rom:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1729250
and i've tried the stock ics kernel, the adanced ics kernel (doomlord) and the overclocking ics kernel beta 0.3 (doomlord)
my phone WAS already on a custom rom with an ics theme and the ics xperia play launcher from ics, but i was on gigerbread 2.3.4
now my phone is stuck on the sony bootscreen, please help

Use flashtool and flash a stock rom

Fixed it
i used flashtool to flash the .58 enhanced firmware, which also flashed a new kernel and pretty much fixed my phone. i also now have 160mb internal storage, although i have many games installed

[Q] Forgot to flash the kernel before installing ICS beta rom with xperia arc

Hi all,
My phone is rooted and has an unlocked bootloader, but I tried to install this rom today:
MooDeD ICS ROM v.4.0 / xUltimate v7.0 Engine [ROM]
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1526717
But I forgot to flash the new boot.img (new kernel), wich I had to install using flashtool. Now I can't normally boot my Arc (I can understand why), but I also can't get into CWM recovery! So do I know have to flash the new kernel wich I had to do before.. or can I get Android 2.3.4 somehow back on my Arc? And if I flash the new kernel for ICS can I flash it back to the kernel for Gingerbread afterwarts? The new kernel is based on ICS beta btw.
I hope you can help me
Everything is working very well since I flashed the ICS kernel I am now running Mooded ICS rom v30.5 without any problems (few bugs in the rom, but overcomable)

I figured that flashing ICS kernel and install the rom again worked when I had flashed the kernel I could get back into recovery again Thanks for your reply
does the DoomLord Kernel work on a ICS rom? Or does it has to be the ICS kernell by DoomLord?! on other words on ICS Roms the kernel has also to be based on ICS?
That's correct as far as I know has to be ics

I don't recommend doomlord because it's a bit buggy, but there are plenty of usefull kernells. To make ICS work you will need ICS kernell

if u update to .62, your kernel change to sony stock kernel..
bootloader unlock - KA12 Ice Cream Sony Rom - doomkernel ICS v2 - v6 supercharger
But if i updated to .62 and flash this custom kernel again.... the backup is working?

my phone hangs on doomkernel screen.

my phone hangs on doomkernel screen after installing doomkernel ,baseband -36 and Arconium-8.2.
i still get into cwm recovery by doomlord.

dude.. u r using ICS kernel on Gingernbread ROM..WTH...you should install GB kernel on GB ROM...got it?
Yup, that seems to be the problem. You can't use an ICS kernel for GB and vice-versa.
Flash a GB kernel and your phone should respond.

[Q] How to update Xperia Play Kernel for installing custom Kernel??

Hi
Noob here.
I have a bootloader unlocked rooted AT&T xperia play at 2.3.3(kernel 2.6.32.9-perf)(build number 3.0.1.B.0.270).
I want to install the Doomkernel v14.but the installation notes says that I have to be on stock SE 4.0.2.A.0.42/.58/.62 FW.Also the older releases of Doomkernel does not match with my firmware.
So how do I install the Doomkernel??I tried updating FW via PC companion but it says 5 hours remaining to download the file.(though my Internet is fast enough).
Also Can i have the stock Sony Ericsson Rom over custom kernel(preferably Doomkernel v14)??
Thanks
Please help me on this.
[FIRMWARE][FTF] Collection of Xperia Play R800a/i/at/x firmware

[ROM][Xperia SL] 6.2.B.1.96 World Generic (Zipaligned, Rooted, Deodexed + Busybox)

Well, as said in the title, here you have it (It does not contain any Kernel and it doesn't wipe data):
I deleted branded apps (customization) from the system, its as clean as the World generic and it wont show the roaming R.
Original FTF: (Thanks to @ska67) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2423025
ROM: http://dfiles.eu/files/wo3rkrtji
- Flash Doomlords .96 stock kernel
- Flash the ROM with CMW
- (Wipe data if coming from AOSP based ROM)
(use google to find how to download fast and free from depositfiles)
Try it and say me if it works (it should)

SL = SL and S = S. How about looking on the second page? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2417655
Anyway, I bet you could put this on XS without issues (it doesn't contain a kernel) but why bother, the XS version is almost identical and has been available longer.
Im on a Locked Bootloader
I have .96 Stock Firmware And Kernel Already. rooted, Installed busybox , installed CWM.
If I install this via CWM recovery. Will I lose CWM? Will I need to Flash .96 Stock Kernel Again?
I can't flash kernel Using flashtool cuz i Have my USB connectivity not working. or damaged trim area
Yup you will lose your cwm but can reinstall that's wat happened to me and now all good
