I've been having a issue trying to open my photos lately. I keep getting a icon of a contact peg with a flash/symbol or a lightning of some sort when I attempt to open some pictures. Pictures do show on gallery as normal, but when I open them the look like it's going to show then I see that darn icon. I tried all sorts of photo app to see if its the stock app, but its not.

for some reason when i open up the Gallery app it does not find any pictures on my phone. does anyone have any tips on how i can fix this?
even if i open the camera app and take a picture nothing shows up in the gallery or in the small gallery at the top of the camera
before loading last nights nightly build this was never a problem.
If I change the source of the contact pictures and the contact is linked to a Facebook profile the picture switches back to the Facebook pic instead. It seems to stay for a couple of seconds/miuntes then swap back. Is there a way to choose which picture is used?
Edit the contact, in the editing activity touch a (rather small) arrow to the right of the picture

You can click on the picture instead of just the arrow. If I select Google instead of Facebook the picture stays as what I choose but its a low res blurry one. If I try using a picture from the gallery it switches back to the Facebook picture after a while.

I've just turned off Facebook syncing so I can choose my own pictures now.
Hey all, having a bit of trouble with my Gallery lately.
It seems that since I flashed Syndicate 1.1.0 my Gallery has stopped recognizing any additional images I put on the SD card, regardless of location. This is making it near impossible to set new wallpapers and replace my Launcher Pro dock and the like.
Apps such as HD Wallpapers save the image, but it doesn't show up in the gallery afterwards. I can confirm the file is there though in a file explorer. Even if pictures are added to the Gallery in the same folder as images it already recognizes, the Gallery does not show them.
I can't seem to figure out what is causing this problem despite searching and tinkering. My Gallery is completely unmodified. Any help would be extremely appreciated!

Try a separate gallery app
or
Go to my file app then find image then click that might work

I can't seem to find a decent gallery app in the market. Any recommendations? Gallery 3D wouldn't install because it isn't signed properly...
Like I said in my original post, I can find and view the photos in Adao File Explorer (My Files is removed by default on the Syndicated Rom), and clicking it does open it temporarily. It however does not add it to the gallery, which eliminates my ability to use images as Wallpapers or for LauncherPro.
Use sdx all remover to remove gallery then try gallery 3d

Quickpic is almost identical to Gallery. Try that.
Hello all,
Not sure if this happens to you but, when I open my gallery only a few thumbnails are shown, the rest are blank. When I scroll down and up it then starts to display them one by one. So I have to keep scrolling until they all have refreshed.
This is really frustrating does anyone have a fix besides a third party app?

Have you restarted recently? I notice the gallery app tends to check and then build/fix the thumbnail database after a restart.
The condition you describe only happens to me if I copy/move images using a 3rd party file utility like root explorer. The Samsung gallery app isn't smart enough to immediately recognize the change. A restart fixes this. So now I only move images using the gallery app, which works fine and avoids the situation.
This doesn't happen on my LG Optimus G.

I see thanks for your reply, restart helped but still an annoying issue.
Every time I want to post a picture on Facebook or Whatsapp, the default camera app opens up, I take the picture, but instead of asking me to confirm and send the picture, it just lets me keep taking more and more pictures and I can't post it. I would have to take the picture normally and then go back to the app to choose the picture from the gallery. Does anyone know a fix for this?
