[9001][THEME][XXKPS deodexed] Ice Cream Sandwich v1.7 [updated @ 22.12.2011]

Here is my "kind-of-"ics-theme, which is my first theme in general
You need a deodexed XXKPS to get it working.
Installation instructions
Just download the wanted file/s and install it/them via FeaMod Recovery.
There are 2 files available: one with and one without the aosp-lockscreen & extended power menu.
I decided to add only themed versions of Phone.apk & Contacts.apk to the normal theme-download. If you want additional features, like big caller photo, non increasing ringtone and flip-to-mute, then you have to download the modded version of the additional Phone- & Contacts-App-Pack.

Just do a nandroid backup trough CWM-Recovery or save the following files with adb/rootExplorer:
/system/app/SystemUI.apk
/system/framework/twframework-res.apk
/system/framework/framework-res.apk
/system/framework/android.policy.jar

You have two options:
1st: make a FeaMod Recovery, if you don't like the theme, just restore /system via advanced restore @ FeaMod Recovery.
2nd: backup following files (via root explorer or something like this):
from /system/framework: framework-res.apk, twframework-res.apk, android.policy.jar
from /system/app: SystemUI.apk
EDIT: backup like crybert wrote some seconds ago

Btw, there is a small graphical glitch in the search boxes, the top outline is missing

[THEME/MOD] Boeffla-Mod 2.2 XWJW1 stock+blue (ODEX/DEODEX) [19-03-2012]

Hi all,
as I make my own Theme after every ROM Samsung releases, I wanted to share this with you as I know some people find it useful.
You can choose between the known "greenish" stock theme and a blue themed mod (my personal favourite).
If you are coming from a previous version of Boeffla-Mod, please flash the rollback package first to make sure you are back to a clean basis. Then flash the packages you want (you can flash all in a row), but it is advised you flash them in the numeric order to avoid side effects, i.e. flash from 1 to 5 and not in random sequence.
Latest news: Addon6 is available, created by ZaneZam.

New Addon6: Add CRT-ON effect + BLN for stock SMS app
New Addon5 (Deluxe add-in): Adds full flavoured JKays Deluxe Themes with 5 lock & customizable power menu to Boeffla-Mode (thanks to ZaneZam for his work). Note: This addon work on both odexed and deodexed roms!
Addon5 uses an intelligent way of detecting whether you are using an odexed or deodexed rom, and applies the right mod automatically (subject to be potentially done for all other Boeffla-Mod parts as well based on experiences)

Screenshots are attached (thanks to ZaneZam, Soyuz 3 and Rebel2k for providing them as I am currently on ICS)
If you want to undo, just flash the rollback file in CWM and you are back to XWJW1 stock.
As always: Flash on our own risk! Make sure you flash the correct version depending on whether you have a odexed or deodexed firmware!!! Make sure you have some space on /system left before you flash. I can and will not take any responsibility for bricked phones.
And on a very special request, I want you to know I used partially apktool (1.4.3) to do my mod. Also I used smali/baksmali 1.3.2. These tools have bugs as any other software of course, so it might come to unexpected side effects
On top of that:
I understand, many people would like to have slight deviations of this mod, different battery icons, different overscroll glow colours etc. However, I honestly do not have enough time to fulfill all your special requests.
I build this mod only for my personal use basically, so it is like it is.

If you want to still have different Battery Icons etc, I recommend you to use the UOT kitchen (http://http://uot.dakra.lt/kitchen) with which you can do a lot of additional tweaking yourself.
Just extract the framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk files out of the Boeffla-Mod zip and load it into kitchen. As soon as the new files are built by kitchen, flash the zip file after Boeffla-Mod and you are there.

huh, yes you are right. I did a re-upload yesterday after rebuilding the mod with a later apktool version.
No functionality change involved at all.
But: Version 1.4.3. is supposed to be ready soon. It will contain the AOSP lockscreen and some transparency effect in the pulldown menu.
So no need for you to update if everything runs fine on your side.
I just wanted somebody else to test it before I post it here (you know, two opinions are always better). It runs already fine on my side since today morning.
But - very well noticed

I would not dare to try it.
Although I never tried it I would assume you will end up in a boot loop. The files are not identical between JW1 and JVT, so vice versa it is already confirmed there is a bootloop.
If you are very brave: Do a nandroid backup, try it, and if it does not work restore the backup.
Sorry, i do not have JVT to test.

Hi,
I am afraid to say, no I am not gonna implement this.
Please refer to first post, my time is too limited for another modification. There will be no big functional changes anymore, maybe some graphical finetuning as it does not require big work. But nothing more.
Secondly, I want to be as close to stock as possible to not break any functionality or cause instability.
And also to be honest: I am not using the multi-toggle thingy personally, as I do not like it.

Hello AndIp,
thank you for the theme, the transparency in particular is great!
However i think there's a small defect (yes i'm very picky, i know...).
In the JVT stock lockscreen i had, the sliders were entirely gray semi-transparent (see screenshot 1).
In your version, when you begin to slide you will see that the first part of the slider is dark gray (like the JVT one) but the remaining part is white (see screenshot 2).
Is it possible to patch this?

Anyway, I am working on a complete rebuilt version which is looking completely different (I am blue addict, so I make anything a bit more blueish, not yet sure if I keep the more stock like one I do currently).

Hi Matthias,
the battery icons are located in framework-res.apk under /res/drawable-hdpi.
So you can use 7zip to first get the framework-res.apk out of the zip file. Then use 7zip again to open the apk and replace the icons with the ones you like (just drag and drop into the folder in 7zip). And then everything vice versa. Voila.

Sorry for the late reply, I attach the jvt mod I used.
I looked into framework-res.apk and found the rounded-end images, but I was not be able to find the image used for the "body" of the sliders. (maybe a .9 file).
If you help me I can make and post here a patched version for the people which prefer a "stock-looking" mod.

Thanks, I will have a quick look. I plan to release two new versions today (see post above). If I find time I will fix it, if not I will anyway release and fix in the next version.

Hi,
that is the easiest way as long as you can live with what the OUT kitchen provides (and this is quite a lot).
I used kitchen in former times as well, works really nicely.

* Important notes to provide issues from the beginning:
In order to run the miui unlock screen properly,the upper right tab / right handle (MIUI) has to be set using the new 'Lockscreen menu' in settings.You can set it to launch anything (folder shortcut or any application ), I personally set it to messaging ( SMS application).
If you dont associate the tab with something it will soft reboot the phone when you use the tab.Also the same for the 4 tab lockscreen.
If you are experiencing bootloops after flashing the theme or if you lost some apps after flashing the theme,please, try to reflash the theme.also clear the cache and dalvik.
to hide/unhide the clock,date,etc or change their colors etc., please open the lockscreen menu in settings.there is a point saying custom menu.click on it and a menu opens where you can change everything.

Q: When unlocking on miui lockscreen/pressing the right tab on miui lockscreen,the phone reboots.Also the same for the 4 tab lockscreen.
A: The upper right tab / right handle (MIUI) has to be set using the new 'Lockscreen menu' in settings.You can set it to launch anything (folder shortcut or any application ), I personally set it to messaging ( SMS application).
If you dont associate the tab with something it will soft reboot the phone when you use the tab.Both lockscreens will use the same 'custom setting'.
Q: Some music controls don't work on my chosen lockscreen.
A: For the AOSP, ROTARY, MIUI, R2D2 and 4 TAB lockscreens: Music controls will work with ANY music player except the stock samsung one

A: To hide/unhide the clock,date,etc or change their colors etc., please open the custom menu in settings.there is a point saying statusbar settings.click on it and a menu opens where you can change everything.

A: For configuring the extended powermenu please go to settings > custom menu > power menu & jkay.
Q: The battery icon isn't shown on the status bar.

When you are receving a call, you could simply MUTE the call Ringtone by flipping the phone with the screen facing the table surface.

The dev is making it clear that the development is at the consent/ he is a partner of 'pele78' who is the Lord of B.A.T and not some unofficial port.. since ppl start flaming the thread instead of actually using it if things aren't made clear..

hi guys...im getting a force close on phone.apk, when i make a phone call. I reflashed the JW1 base rom and then theme again. Still force close. If i use a non themed phone.apk it seems to work fine. Even if i use the JVT phone fix it works but its not longer themed black and white.
I have just extracted the phone.apk from the JVT BAT and that is working fine. Can you please fix the JW1 phone.apk?

1. XPERIA S Launcher supports adw icon packs. Choose your pack from launcher preferences
2. Wallpaper Wizardriii is a cool app that lets you crop walls portrait or landscape way. Tweak it's setting for optimal performace
3. You can also install QuickPic and use it as your default image viewer and use Wallpaper Wizardriii for croping portrait walls
4. To mount USB after applying layouts, you need to press image on screen... there's no button

-- If too many notices on status bar then will overlap centered clock
-- Even though Sansation font was created for multi-language support and complex writting, you may experience some weird characters
-- Sometimes when pressing search in Play Store or address bar on browser, app dissapears and only keyboard shows. If you start typing app will appear again
-- Low screen backlight when booting phone but brightness gets back to normal level after a few secs. It's a FireKernel issue and maybe this was done to save battery

i think there's some learning to be done, JIT was added in android 2.2 and provided a good performance boost to android in general, theres almost absolutely no good reason at all to disable it, if a ROM doesn't work with it enabled i'd consider it broken... typo maybe? is it REALLY disabled?

On this rom, there's a bug with BT headset not working correctly with phone audio, only with multimedia audio, does it still exist here?

Is it possible to revert the color of the clock widget back to white? The dark blue that comes with your theme didn't look too good on other different wallpapers, but I like the color scheme for everything else though
