[Q] Which is the current best GB ROM do you think? - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, currently Im using ICS CUSTOM ROM~ I would like to have some suggestion and advice from you guys which GB ROM do you think is the best to use?

i'am useing (rom)arconium 8.2 and (kernel)doomkernel v22 very good and fast

Thats a highly subjective topic. What others think of another rom is probably totally different to your own experience. Just try some of the more known (for stabilities sake) roms and chose the one that fits your needs best.

+1

Xperia S Rom v7 + DooMKernel v18

Arconium 8.2 + DooMKernel
I'm using Arconium 8.2 with DooMKernl #19
The ROM is smooth and responsive
But sometimes playing Temple Run is not smooth and the accelerometer doesn't respond
Overall, Arconium 8.2 is the best choice out there:good:

TRY DOOMKERNEL V 18 FIX 1 :good:

Rooted stock GB Rom probably the best, root allows you to remove stock bloatware
If you're talking about ICS, just try flashing any to find one that suits you

How good is v18 fix 1?
I thought higher version is better...

LewaOS was nice but bugged, I wish it gets improved because is a very different cool experience, anyway, stay away from CM7 and you will be fine.

Fastest Rom for Arc?

Wich is the fastest combination of kernel+rom for arc?
Thank you!
Sent from my LT15i using XDA
I'm using cm7.2 fxp115 of FXP and it's very fast and recommended
I havent arc, but xplay is similar. I can recommend u cm7 with doomkernel for cm7 (im using one for stock and its really fast after oc to 1.21 ghz) or arconium and doomkernel for stock.
Sent using r800i with DoomKernel v11 (1.21ghz)
I'm using CM9 with FXP kernel, fastest ROM I've ever used. It's even faster with DoomKernel ICS, but the WiFi doesn't work.
Miui is the best, ics is very bug slow xd

CM7, Arconium 8 or MIUI(DiMiui or G-MIUI. They're Gingerbread roms both).
I don't recommend ICS yet because Sony hasn't released the code yet. There are some decent ICS roms though, but I'd wait.
Blend miui is better

doomkernel+arconium 8.1 is fastest for me
doomkernel+Xperia Mod 6 gives best combination of performance and battery life if you ask me.

Yup i have this setup and it is amazing
I've tested pretty much all the roms available for the arc.
Fastest ones IMO are:
GB: Acronium 8.1
ICS: JJ's Hybrid Rom V4
I'm using JJ's Hybrid Rom V4 atm and the speed and responsiveness for an ICS rom is amazing. Also it's really lite.

I agree that the battery life isn't amazing with JJ's ICS rom, but for me the battery lasts for about 36 hours (latest leaked ICS kernel and settings changed with no-frills cpu control) with moderate use (no games or streaming videos). About 12 hours less then a good GB rom but that's ok with me. As long as it can last at least a whole day without charging.
KA14 is the best!
I have waiting KA14 to update. But the link was die, can't download it.

Best rom for gaming?

I use stock version .62 with doomkernel v13 and it doesn't feel very smooth.
What's currently the best smooth, bugfree, stable, fast rom for mainly purpose of gaming and searching the web, with an acceptable battery life?
I tried myself some roms like JokaWild, True Ancestor and Darkforest I think but they all had something I didn't like
Thanks in advance
stock GB rom..

JokaWild is the fastest and has great battery life.
It's also bugfree.
if you didn't like the way it looks (I don't) try flashing a theme.
Nabeel_Nabs has a great ICS theme.
Thomassafca has a bunch of nice ones.

Don't know. I won't be able to try any new roms until my phone is fixed.

For me,it's way better than JokaWild. I'm thinking of going back to stock and use it with DoomKernel.

Seeing as we have OnLive, I really fail to see why people bother with the Play Store and Xperia Optimised games.
Then again, I guess it depends on your net connection.
More on topic, just use stock and RAM Manager set to Hard Gaming

that's because we are in canada. the country who receives everything f*ck!ng last!
I use JokaWild v2.5 with v13 Doomkernel and its very fast. No bugs. -36 Baseband. Great Battery Life. All games are smooth on it.
I tried ICS and I went back to it because my games didn't run as good, some were choppy.
I haven't tried TrueAncestor yet, I'm fine with JokaWild and am going to stick with it
Use JW 2.5 or use DiXperia monster, that's the one I like best. It's very bloat-free and fast. I have no lagged in Asphalt 6 at all with doomkernel v14 and this rom.

Nobody know that. But In the v3, battery drains fast.
dixperia monster+doomkernel should do the job..

My opinion as well !
JJ's rom is better imo
Sent from my LT18i using xda app-developers app
JJ's is a Hybrid mix with the feels of AOSP with the benefits of Sony Stock ROM (Bravia Engine, xLoud, etc...).
CM9 is a pure AOSP ROM with everything you'll get from it.
You'll decide which is best.
i'm using jj's now, and i like it! i think it has better battery life. but if you want features i think you should try cm9.

Do you have the cdma version or gsm. If you have gsm Id recommend aurora play or gin2jellybean. They are both gb and have everything working. (Ginger bread is the only version with everything working). If you have cdma then stock would be the best and just theme it using one of attacks themes. There are plenty ics and jb roms but games don't run smooth on them so id recommend you to stay on gb.

gingerbread roms: aurora play/gin2jellybean / ICS: True Ancestor / Hybrid / with the ICS true ancestor im on gsm everything is working fine games are smooth battery life is good. benchmark score of 6740
which rom are u currently running and is everything working and hows battery life
for me im using aurora as my gb rom and i use ics beta fixed as my daily rom
battry life is great and touchpad and gamepads are working perfecly
and are you sure about true ancestor benchmark
For me;
GB: dixperia 2
ICS: True ancestors/Hybrid
JB: cm10
Right now I'm on ICS True ancestor and for me, no bugs and the games run very smooth

yes im perfectly sure, i have customized this rom used it as a based applied, tweaked build prob, custom libs, and many more so far im getting 6000 on every test i run. and of course the battery life last me a long time, long enough to have a pokemon leveled up to 99 ahahahaha
still confused i dont know which ics rom has everything working dont wanna keep flashing i like games and at the same time need good battery life
I havnt tried atomic gb but i think its one of the best roms
Dixperia 2 is a little bit laggy and only the theme is customized. Its not good for gaming
gin2jellyabean is the best rom
