You had an unlocked bootloader. You still have an unlocked bootloader. Don't see any cause for worry.

No, my bootloader is locked, a flash file that I blocked again.
I made the lock to try to upgrade to the ICS but had not tried to unlock then upgrade again and is giving error.

is my mobile bootloader already unlocked?

Hello Guys,
Today i was about to unlock my bootloader using SE Bootloader Unlocking v1.6(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1560613) but before doing so i used s1tool to identify my device. Here is the screenshot. Check my S1_EROM version it starts with "r" not "R".so it's alreay unlocked? How do i know(check) my mobile has bootloader unlocked?
I bought this mobile almost a year ago and it was brand new from stock. So not sure it's already have bootloader unlocked since i haven't unlocked the bootloader yet.I just want to know what's happening.Sorry if this question has already been asked as i am kin of noob(but have rooted and flashed ROMs using flashtool and CWM) and want to know what's the bootloader status. If anyone know how to check bootloader unlock staus it would be very kind to share as i am gonna unlock my bootloader and need to recheck if it's unlocked properly so that it won't brick my phone.

Try flashing a kernel is the obvious and simplest answer.

So if my bootloader is locked it won't let me flash custom kernel like(boot.img of cynogenmod) or it will brick my phone? You link doesn't explain anything on how to check bootloader unlock status."bootloader unlock allowed:yes" will be for those devices whose bootloader can be unlocked but it doesn't tell you if bootloader is unlocked or locked.
I simply want to unlock my bootloader. Then flash cynogenmod.I want to make sure bootloader is unlocked properly before flashing cynogenmod kernel. If flashing boot.img on bootloader locked device won't brick my phone then i am ready to go.Just need conformation on what happens if i flash custom krenel and rom in bootloader locked mobile accidentally.

When your rooting status says
"Bootloader unlock allowed: yes"
Then the bootloader is locked..
If it says
"Bootloader unlocked: yes"
Then your bootloader is unlocked..
Simply dial *#*#7378423#*#*
Then find your rooting status..
And I think you should use the official way to unlock bootloader.

HAhaaa unless that shopkeeper imported the phone, unlocked bootloader and flashed a kernel.Place where i live doesn't have authorized sony mobile distributors. So they import from somewhere.
My booloader was unlocked whole time after purchasing it.It was new when i bought but no sure now.Anyway i am satisfied with my purchase a year ago as i haven't got any problem till now except that famous house crack.
I have flashed Cynogenmod successfully.Thank you all for the help. You guys gives some courage for nervous guy like me who are tempting to do new things.

Arc S 12W22 bootloader

My phone is manufactured in 12W22, is there ANY way to unlock the bootloader? It's a carrier branded phone (got it as a gift)
It is unlockable but you need to remove the carrier branding first.

Any Arc manufactured after 12W11 will have a bootloader that cannot be unlocked. You can try wotanserver for the debranding but not sure if you can unlock your bootloader.

Mine's LT18a 12W15, perfectly unlocked and running JB so.. I'd tell him to give it a shot.
Of course, that number could be just a rumor, no harm trying it.

Hi mine is an Arc is network unlock as its an orange one and I'm using Vodafone. The numbers on it are 11W12 and I filled the thing in on Sony boot loader site and they've sent me a code.
I've rooted it already but it says in the service menu it says the bootloader can't be unlocked.
Mines an LT15i but it now says its Lt18i
What's right can it be unlocked or not?

I understand you came from Samsung... I also used Samsung myself back then and experimented with the root and everything.
Rooted a S3 back then which had the "recovery-from-boot.p" script that did not allow me to flash CWM recovery on it.

Wrong, official method still works for non-SIM locked phones. Branding has no effect at all.

As I already said, it does not matter, if phone has branded firmware or not. It has nothing to do with bootloader unlocking.
If the fastboot is disabled, then you can not do anything. This mostly occurs, when phone is SIM-locked.
If the fastboot is enabled, then you can use official method at unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com.
To see, if fastboot is enabled or disabled, just try entering it - Turn off the phone, hold down Menu button, connect USB cable. If blue LED lights up and stays on, fastboot is enabled and you can use the official method.

I can't enter fastboot, my phone is sim-locked. I think that I could get the unlock code from my carrier, would that make any difference?

Unfortunately, no. This does still not enable fastboot. Fastboot can be enabled only via test point method, but due to newer security systems, this is not possible on phones manufactured after 12W11.
So, unfortunately, you are one of the unlucky ones, who have to deal with locked bootloader. For now. Until a method is found, that can bypass the newer security standards.

you can check if it can be unlocked... it's always locked when you buy a phone... so if you didn't unlock it it will be locked...

Please don't give false information, the bootloader is always locked when you buy a new phone. You have to unlock it manually. What you're referring to is carrier lock and not every country uses phone without carrier lock.
Flashtool can be used with a locked bootloader, the only thing you cannot do is flash a custom kernel when in fastboot mode.

After unlocking bootloader on 164 I received the OTA notice for 165. I was being a bit cautious so unrooted and uninstalled Xposed before applying the OTA update. It all went fine, no problems at all. I have read other threads where people say they've applied OTA without unrooting.
I received my 165 update on Jan 25th and I used asus unlock device app to unlock the bootloader on Jan 26. It was quick.
i unlock boot loader when my firmware still V2.20.40.139 using this unlock boot loader original from Asus
http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/ZenFone/ZE551ML/UnlockApp_ze551ml_20150723.apk
if you still can not unlock boot loader, try to downgrade Zenfone firmware first and then try again to unlock boot loader, you can go back to the latest firmware again after you unlock your boot loader.
http://www.asus-zenfone.com/2015/12/how-to-downgrade-asus-zenfone-2-firmware.html
came to find out that the bootloader was not lock after all, apparently came unlock from factory...by seeing in fastboot the words (unknown bootloader) and the black screen i thought it was locked. i when ahead and install trwp using windroid, after that cyanogen 13 ..that by the way is running very good for a beta. i have multiple phones note 3,huawei note 2,idol 3 but this phone was a little tricky for me.
by the way thanks to all that responded to this thread an
try to help..
just use one click bootloader unlock tool..its superb and most easiest solution. available here. i also faced problem with adb.
# Its not the official one.
# hit THANKS if u like my solution.
