APK manager? - Epic 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I need some help. How exactly do I install a framework for an app when it is needed?

Framework-if
Should be a batch file with apk manager. Other wise get apktool and run apktool if framework-res.apk

I got off my computer now but I will try this in the morning thanks.

okay, so I'm confused as ever. Theres no "framework-if" wiht apk manager and i downloaded apk tool and its a .jar file? And i dont know what to do with it. I can open it up but theres no programs in it or anything.

Do you want a quick tutorial? Over team viewer?

Sprint nfl app

I know most everyone removes the sprint crap that comes on our phone but I use the sprint football app a lot and it tells me there's an update and everytime I try to update it gives a package error not signed correctly.
Does anyone have a fix or a direct DL for the update?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium
Download a stock GB ROM, open the zip file, navigate to system/app and grab the app from there. Put it on your sd card and push it to system/app with whatever file manager you have. That should work.
From there you should be able to get the update, hopefully.
I think you can find the sprint apps in the market, under the sprint section of course.

If anybody needs the updated version of the nfl app here it is... you will need to delete the one you have from system/app and then install the one I send as a regular app... no need to push to system/app... If the link doesn't work (it should) just let me know in a pm and I will be happy to shoot you the apk

[request] Galaxy SIII Calendar .apk

I was wondering if anyone has the .apk for the stock SSGSIII? If so could you post a link to download ? I give you thanks a million.:victory:

I barely used the calender for the first time since I got my gs3 on Sunday. I actually like the way it looks. Really enjoying this phone.

I think that's the stock Android calendar, not the SIII S-Calendar from Samsung. I have been wanting this too and I'm pledging towards a bounty for a stable working apk on my S2.

Not sure but I would think since it is a system app use root explorer to place in system/apps and change permissions

I'm good at flashing zips, but when it comes to this I could use some specific instructions. What permissions do I use? Do I need to uninstall the old calendar first, or run them side by side?

I would rename your current calender to .bak instead of .apk so you still have it. Then using root explorer move this apk to system/apps the long press it. Click change permissions and I believe they should be set to rw/r/r. Good luck!

It's pretty simple. However this process still did not work on my rooted SGSII. But for future reference of these types of system files here ya go.
- Use Root Explorer to place the file in the System/App folder in the directory
- If the new file is a different name then you can easily just place it in that folder ( of course you have to change Root Explorer to R/O mode instead of R/W mode ) - ( if its the same name then just rename the old file to something you can remember )
- Permissions for most apps would be RW, R, R. Just click on the file and select "Permissions". After you do that you do need to re-boot the device to save the settings.
Note: I did try this with this calendar and it did not work. We actually need a SSGSIII Calendar ported to work on an SGII. I am not smart enough to make that happen. Although I would like to be able to do such things someday. Hope this helps at least for future reference.
I'm pledging $10 towards the Dev who can get the S-Calendar ported yo the T-Mobile SGS-2. Maybe more if it is done by Monday. I know it's not a lot, but it's what I can give.

hey man, thank you very much. very helpful!!
although, I cannot install it on my nexus (i9250).
thank you anyway.
Sorry to bump an old thread, but this seemed like the most relevant place to post.
I recently put CarbonROM on my phone and, after playing around with it for a bit, realize I absolutely hate the google calendar and just want my old calendar back. I downloaded the apk provided in this thread and attempted to install it but it says I already have the app. Sure enough, if I go to Settings > Apps, it shows up as Calendar Storage, but there is no icon anywhere, such as in my app drawer, that allows me to load the program. I even tried using QuickShortcutMaker, but it can't find the calendar anywhere in the list of apps to make a shortcut. Does anybody know what I can do?
Same situation here with carbon Rom.
Anyone know how to get it working?

I am not sure, but it would seem, S Planer doesn't work on any other ROM than the Samsung Official ROM.
I don't know why... I've testing a lot of possibilities (replace the original AOKP's apk by the Samsung's apk, do a wipe Dalvik, wipe cache, modify the permissions...), a lot of apk (recovered here, recovered on an original v4.1.2 samsung's ROM, recovered on the testing v4.2.2 Samsung ROM...), and it never work on my CyanoGen Mod 10.1...
It isn't an incompatibility with an other home than TouchWiz because I've never use this home with my previous Samsung's ROM and S Planer working correctly...
I will continue to looking to do working S Planer with an other ROM, but I have little hope... :crying:

S Memo for T989

I'm using Jedi Knight V2 right now and absolutely loving it.
At first I had a few issues with it because it wasn't smooth and apps froze once in a while and I had to reboot it often. I guess that after a day of headaches it just settled down and I'm a happy man now. Thanks PTMR3 :good:
Anyway I would like to know if anyone knows where I can find and download S MEMO for my Galaxy S2. I love that app but it seems that it was only built for the S3...
Any thoughts about this?
Anyone?

Yes it's the regular one. I wanted SMemo from the Samsung Note but because of the port it doesn't work. A Dev needs to work with it and then we can all be happy.
By the way, I uninstalled this version and went back to color note

I tried just instaling it like I would a normal apk but that didn't work so I'm guessing I'm missing something.
Thanks!

Installing it by the normal 'click to install' method will not always work for a system dependent app.
You can install the app via ADB while your phone is connected the computer. Using the ADB method, just type adb push name.apk system/app.
(ADB pull will do the reverse if you'd like to transfer a file to your computer).
or you can use a root capable file manager (i.e. Root Explorer, ES File Explorer, Root Browser, etc...) and just copy and paste the .apk file from your SD card to the system/app folder.
Cheers!

Especially the ones you never really used. Its like its all come together!
Tip: long press an app in the all list to toggle multiple mode, then tap others to remove, when ready hit the slash circle upper right

u'll need s3 apk as samsung has blocked s4 S voice..and u'll also need to change device name for that..just google it for proper reference. here a quick guide
1)change u'r device name to official S3 like gt I800 or something, google this (Do this in build.prop file which is in system)
2) install apk then reboot.
3)now it will work.
4)once working change u'r phone's name to original nexus 4, apk will keep on working
I tried the S-voice and personally i can tell u its S**T. Google now is way better, understand you quicker and gives faster results. but if u still wanna try then go again. Njy
