Alternative alarm app to Philips fidelio - Galaxy S III Themes and Apps

Hello Everyone,
I am the owner of a Philips AS140 and with this comes the Fidelio app. Now if any of ye out there own this speaker or have ever installed this app, I'm sure you will agree with me that this app really really sucks. Its slow, buggy, wont close properly and is heavy on battery (if not charging). In fact I setup a tasker task to kill the app when i wake up and it still doesn't end properly.
Onto my point. I was wondering if anyone knows any alarm app out there that work with the speaker? I used to use alarm clock plus but the problem is that any of the alarm app when connected to the speaker via Bluetooth play the alarm sound through the speaker and the phone. I haven't been able to find a way of getting it to play just through the speaker other than using Philips crappy app.
Anyone in the same boat as me and found a good solution?

Any ideas on this guys? All i need is an app that will play the alarm over the media bluetooth connection and not over the speaker

Not sure if it will work but try Alarmdroid

alarmdroid work perfectly

It work perfectly thanks !!!! you have just to make corect seting (use bluetooth to ring alarm) and you have the alarm on the dock philips and not both on your phone its a realy great alternative to fidelio or dockstudio from philips.... this 2 apps realy suck !!!! so if you have one dock philips for android use alarmdroid its realy realy beter !!!

yeah i have the same speaker and the app truly sucks balls. when tethering it will randomly start running.

got the same speaker, i wrote a letter to philips, but they do nothing about it, they never answer anything. what i expect when i buy them was a nice dock app or the option to launch the dock app for my htc one x, but what i know is that i need a special dock or cable to do this. really bad for a dock speakers. if anyone knows a better app for this speakers i would be glad to see it

A bit late but try the Rise Up! Radio/Alarm Clock app, works for me
Edit: I Can't Wake Up! Alarm Clock is a better option.

Best blue tooth headset.

Anyone to recommend a good Bluetooth headset, a set with music controls 3.5mm jack for your own earphones and a display that would display the id3 tags or file name. Of course be able to answer calls.
I'm using a Nokia one at the moment but its not very responsive, dunno if its because of the old Bluetooth 1.0 compatibility.

Thanks for the recommendation, so I bought a set after reading positive reviews. Connection was easy and very quick and responsive. But one fault is that the phone itself starts ringing on incoming calls the and some signals through the headset. Weird doesn't happen on my old slow unresponsive BT headset (Nokia) at least the phone didn't ring just signals through the headset bit embarrassing when your phone goes off and you answer on a BT headset.
Any settings that could fix this?
I have resetted BT pairing and the headset but still same.
Anybody use this with wildfire?

Are you using any custom roms? I remember that cyanogen rom has some options about ringing in headphones, if I am not mistaken.
Also, did you test it on another phone to see if it's behaving the same way ?

I am using Wildpuzzle 0.8. Checked media and phone audio is connected. Have tried it on a Nokia and same thing happens. Can the headset be updated or something? My way round is to mute the phone when I connect the headset but this is so inconvenient when sometimes I forget to reenable sound.

Try this: Do a nandroid back-up and flash CM7. See if the problem still persists.
If not... I`m out of ideas. Maybe try to get a refund?
I have read many threads with same complaint, now realising It's a feature of most new smartphones (dunno whether its just android or not) that phone always rings with Bluetooth headsets just in case for some reason you take out your earphones for some reason.
I'm a little reluctant to switch to cm7 waiting for it to be stable first.

I think it`s normal for a phone to ring via the speaker even with the headset connected. Maybe they just need to add an option for it.
I meant testing CM7, not switching to it completely. A 30 min job to test CM7 and restore nandroid.
Hi
Just got the MW600 as well, very pleased so far.
I have the same issue, phone is ringing as well - whereas it does not really bother me.
There are few things not working well for me, so I was hoping to find here some feedback:
- No Song titles are displayed (not so bad since it is normally clipped in a position where you can not easily check
- the call-button does not work to call somebody, only to take a call
- the play button does not automatically start playing HTC music - but worked with Winamp and Songbird
Any suggestions ?
Original Rom (l have 2.2.1 nie) have Sound quality issue over a2do. HTC support said, I must wait for next update (when they may be fix it)

I'm having an issue with my Plantronics 903+ Bluetooth Headset. They pair and play's music fine , but it cuts out quite alot if i move about. Honestly if I have to sit still I may as well get wired headphones.
I am CM nightly's (71) with the latest radio flashed.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Hello,
i use Jabra BT3030
http://www.productwiki.com/jabra-bt3030/
3 years of working, without any problem
Ok, I really start to like the SE MW600 a lot
If you get a call music stops and you can take the call with one button.
Double tapping the call button re-calls the last person you phoned - works good as well.
But I am still not having the ideal media player
Original HTC music player fails to start up automatically when you tab the music button
- but next song/pause works well
Songbird opens automatically, next song/pause/... works well but searching in a track not and it is rather heavy making the phone really slow
Winamp is probably the best, but I still think it is too heavy
Does anybody knows a good light media player with bluetooth support ?

2 questions/problems regarding car dock

1. The music widget type thing in the dock app just repeats 5 or 6 songs... I've fiddled with all these settings and it does the same thing.
2. When talking to people on the phone I hear the persons voice through my phone speaker, how do I get it to play through my car speakers? I think I might have to turn speaker phone off because that's how it worked with the tape adapter.
Never live in the past but always learn from it.
Anyone?

This probably wont help you but I'll post anyhow. I just plug in my aux jack to the phone, all the audio pumps thru there.

Does the microphone on the phone still work this way? Considering the aux cable doesn't have a mic built into it like other hands-free headsets.
Figured out why I was only hearing like 5 songs.
Apparently you're supposed to have the stock music player set to "party shuffle" and then that widget in the car dock app works great. Plays all songs.
And I'll try talking with somebody with the phone not in speaker phone, I'm pretty sure it will work so that they can hear me, and I can hear them through car speakers.
Oh and I called Moto and the lady talked sooooo slow, and verified everything I said like 4 times, just to say that she could just replace it. Didn't even know how to troubleshoot.
Is it impossible to edit the widgets that come pre-loaded in the car dock app?

Control Music while Driving

Looking for some headset type adapter that i can use and plug into my cassette adapter, like you know press once to pause, press twice to advance and three times to go back.
I have tried bluetooth/FM transmitters and they degrade the quality and have to much static, or maybe blutooth adapter that has a headphone jack.
Its a pain to control music while driving with all android devices I have owned, that requiring unlocking the screen and making sure to press the correct buttons etc.
Or maybe there is a car doc for the S3 that puts the phone in dock mode and keeps the screen on like a GPS?
You can buy an adapter that's mic used to turn an ordinary headphones into a wired headset. They normally have a button on them one press to pause 2 to skip etc. I bought one from shure awhile ago.
Link please, I also just found out the Infuses 4G car mount actually fits and works with th s#. Now i just have to find a place that sells or at least ships to Canada.

see my car is not fancy enough that it has a remote which if it did would solve all my problems. I think the best option here is to buy Car Home Ultra. Its 2 bucks and the trial actually works good and has built in media controls, so you don't need to navigate away from the screen.
This works out best coz i can buy a universal dock so all 3 drivers can use the dock and have the same function since they are all Android or at least until i can find a infuse car mount.

Here: http://www.i-luv.com/product_detail.asp?idx=1387
amazon sells it. You can also modify the resistors inside and get the volume buttons to work too.
i'm not sure if you know but the S3 also has voice control if you're using the stock music app.
it only works well if there is zero cabin noise while driving. the 2nd mic is terrible when it comes to background noise suppression.
just turn on "Voice cmd for apps" under "Language and Input" in the Settings.
^ Thanks I know and have it enabled. I use it for my alarm and tried the music app as well. I find i have to yell at the phone especially to turn the dam alarm of in the morning.
@sbddude Will check out its exactly what i need. Still will get a cheap universal dock + Car Home Ultra.

[Q] Possibly A Tasker Question

Hello All,
I'm not sure how to have searched for what I'd like to accomplish for lack of "proper" wording?
But, I have the Jabar Free way with two phones. I'd like when my Galaxy Nexus connects that it would play a tone such as a"notification" sound for a text.
If I buy tasker, would I be able to set up a task that when Bluetooth successfully connects to my device, then prompt sound x to play over speaker to let me know it has connected without having to look at the phone and see?
Or is there a simpler way to get a sound alert to play for what I think would be called: Bluetooth Connection Audio Confirmation ?
Yes you can do this with tasker. You can set up a task to run on connection to a specific bluetooth connection and play any sound you like and also pick which sound stream to play it through (speaker, bluetooth audio, etc.) You can also set it to play a sound on disconnect if you wish.
I use tasker to auto launch car dock mode and pandora when connected to my car bluetooth system. Works pretty well.

[Q] [Help] Is there a Bluetooth Hands free app

Hi recently I have installed a Android tabled as my stereo/Head deck in my car. I was wondering if there is a Bluetooth hands free apps that I could install on my tablet to function as a hands free device for my phone to connect to?

you mean something like android auto on your tablet?
never heard of it, but it is a nice idea.
maybe you can mirrorlink your phone to your tablet? losing control of the tablet though ...
my personal setup right now is a nexus7 (wifi only) with music and offline-navigation connected through AUX/headphone jack and my phone connected via BT to the stereo. i can control the phonebook and dial from the car stereo and of course answer calls with just one button. but the smartphone-part of my oneplus is pretty much useless as long as im driving.

My Headunit app turns a tablet into a headunit, but it doesn't do anything with Bluetooth at this time. See my sig for the thread.
But I'm not sure this is what the OP wants.

Imagine you have a normal bluetooth stereo in your car. When you get in your car your phone automatically connect. If you receive a call it will come through on the cars speakers. and so on..
Makes more sense?

For my setup, I don't have a normal stereo in my car, my tablet is the stereo, so I need hands free capabilities so my phone can connect to my tablet(Stereo). Since its illegal to be using your phone if it is not connected to handsfree in my country. (New Zealand)

mmhh... nice, but I really dislike the thought of only a software volume... plus no FM is a no-go for me as traffic messages are quite OK here in Germany
But it is a nice project!
Thinking of moving a 1-DIN slot to the central vent for a classic stereo and the install a tab for music and navigation... but I think it's not worth it for my 14year old car

There is hardware volume, the buttons on the steering wheel. They also have next song mute and so on. and you can get FM easily by using this http://www.sdrtouch.com/, you can get a device for about $10 and you can get way more than FM radio, you can get police scanners and so on

I bought the SDR-Touch radio app and it's good for what it does and is still one of a kind for Android.
But the downsides of SDR include somewhat limited audio quality and high CPU and power usage and the related heat.
