Welcome.
I've tried them all, I don't really have a favorite.
Paranoid Android is my choice because of its tablet mode and hybrid capabilities.
The most popular kernel, correct me if I'm wrong, seems to be Franco.
There's plenty to choose from. If you're anything like me, you'll end up trying them all anyway.

Thanks man. Really helps to get input. I came from a Droid 1 before the charge and was a "flashaholic" with that but the charge only had 1 rom so I was limited. Got offered a nexus and that's all she wrote. I probably will end up trying them all. Also how is kejars gummy rom? I liked his stuff on the charge? Thanks in advance

Gummy. Speed, features, stability, battery life. I haven't tried his latest build "Chronicles of Nyania", but my previous experience with Gummy was amazing.
Check out what others are saying in the thread and check out the features list. Should tell you all that you need to know.

Got one more question for ya haha sorry but if you wipe data in recovery will it wipe all your contents on your internal memory or just wipe your settings?

It's all good. Clockworkmod recovery doesn't touch your SD card data. Don't use stock recovery. Being a "flash-a-holic" you know that though lol.

I've become reliant on AOKP because you can add up to 5 icons to your navbar software buttons, including application shortcuts (and another 5 long press shortcuts as well).
It's nice being able to quickly jump to Chrome, or quickly open up my mp3 player while in the car. Here's what I mean:

Plus I do find the alert toggles really are quite nice. Even though other roms have them too, they seem to work best in AOKP.
looks quite nice man...the big dive for me is fastboot and all the other stuff. with the charge i used odin

So, today I watched the Sammy keynote, didn't like the S3, and so I called up VZW and ordered my shiny new Nexus. It should be here Tuesday (and now I'm petrified it won't for some reason lol). Can't wait, and already know what I'm doing as soon as I get it. Activate it, upgrade to 4.0.4 so I have radios and bootloader, unlock, root, flash TWRP, flash AOKP, flash GLaDOS kernel, and have an epic phone! Can't wait to be a part of this community!
Just curious since I've never done it yet but why not order from AmazonWireless for cheaper?
Also really happy to have a vet of your caliber on the Nexus side of things, welcome aboard I look forward to joining as well come tomorrow when my GSM version arrives
I'm transferring an upgrade and upgrading early too, so I can't. For people who can, it's smart though!

If this is sarcasm, it's not appreciated. I prefer people to be nice to each other and even be *gasp* HELPFUL. So anyway, from what I've heard the large part of the community is awesome, so can't wait.

From my experience, AOKP is AMAZING (on the INC2 though), and if you hate it so much, what ROM should I flash? Liquid and CNA are just AOKP with extra features (I think you get the message). The other one I am inclined to try is Paradigm.
Oh and I'll also try GummyNex!

*Note
This is the RC version of the ROM, testing was done privately for the beta versions. As far as I know, there are no known bugs at this time, but if you should find something, please let me know. Also, due to framework & build.prop mods, you will see a "Not Official Joy OS" popup from time to time, nothing to worry about. I did this just to have something new to flash & play with, hope you enjoy it, thanks.
Thank you sir!!!! Downloading now.
Really cool rom. I can't get data working tho. I couldn't find an option for 4g so I couldn't check that. No 3g at all tho. Keeps saying no data connection. Other than that, really snappy, the icons are real cool, and its a great change from ics. Thanks for this. Btw. I tried to reboot, wiped cache and dalvik again, and no luck w the data.

Hi there. I've updated my GNex to 4.1.1 (GSM version) and at the very beginning everything was superb. But after some time, my GNex starts to lag. And under "lags" I mean home screen freezing.
When I'm using some programs and after that I pressing a home button and immediately switch to the next home screen - its freezing and switching to the next home screen like in the slideshow.
I've used CM10 jelly bro and AOKP nightlybuilds - and they doesnt solute my problems.
If someone had this problem and already got reed of it - can you say me the ways of solution? Thanks.
Btw,excuse my for my English. If I wrote something wrong - try to understand it,or ask me about it again.

No lags here...
Could be an app you have installed using a lot of memory.
Also perhaps try custom kernels, I recommend AK currently.

if you don't like it, get a new phone and leave us be
Rule of thumb: factory reset when updating between actually os updates like ics-jb . Allows for a better experience.

The only time I have seen lag on an iPhone is if it's jailbroken. Also, my iPad doesn't lag. Then again, GB and ICs didn't have huge lag issues for me either, so maybe I just don't see it much

My score is 1126 (47 wpm). Post results, know any better app? Tachnique? Feel free to share it. I used SwiftKey with the standard Qwerty layout in portrait.
Come on fellow Galaxy Nexus users type fast !!
Mod : Also state what feedback(s) were you using & style, portrait /landscape. We can learn from each other. I had haptic disabled and Sound enabled, normal typing.
PS : You don't have to be No 1 to show and post your score, 1000 and above is quite respectable. This is not a who's the best thread (well not anymore!!) so feel free to post your score with the techniques you used.
Please don't flood the Leader board with repeated tests!!

I wasn't doing much today, now that the semester is over. So I felt like experimenting with our great phone. I think we all notice that the international models offer MUCH more currently active support. So I wanted to find out how much some of the mods and such were compatible. I flashed this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2721839, and surprisingly, so far, everything is working out ok. I would highly advise to backup a current nandroid just in case. Obviously this isnt my work, nor am I publishing this mod as in a specific ROM other than the creators. Completely on my time and my risk.
So tell me what you guys think.
