Sorry if this sounds like a really nooby question.. My girlfriend has a SGSII on Telus, that I rooted a long time ago, but now I'm wondering what roms to put on her phone. Do I have to use a rom specifically for telus? or can any t-mobile rom work? Do I need to flash a new radio or modem?
I have a Telus Note, and I can use any ATT rom available, just wondering if it works the same way for these phones.
Thanks for your help!
You can use any T989 ROM. Not sure if Wi-Fi calling will work on it. Here is a link from a great dev that made a nice ROM based on your ICS update. I've only heard good things about it.

Should not be a problem as long as your phone is rooted. I have a telus phone and I have flashed ROM's for TMO and Telus. Look at the paticular ROM and the devs are pretty good at giving the instructions to flash a new ROM which are pretty standard.
I'm currently running the official 4.0.3 Telus OS on my T989D and I'm looking at trying out some other ROMs, my question has two parts:
Is it correct that I have to install the Telus Radio first (T989DTLLE4)?
Are there any recommended ROMs for Telus users or will any T-Mobile T989 mod work so long as I use the Telus radio? (Mod recommendations would be appreciated!)
Through trial and error it looks like it doesn't seem to matter the order so long as the preferred radio is installed. If I'm incorrect please let me know.

1) You don't have to install the telus radio before installing a rom. None of the roms that I know of flash a new radio, they just use the one that you had previously (in this case the TLLE4 radio). Also, any radio available here will work with the T989D, and will work with all roms. So you can try flashing different ones and see which works best for you, unless you are happy with the stock radio.
2) Just like with radios, any rom will work. the T989D is the same phone as the T989. However, for stability reasons I recommend that you stick with roms that are based on stock telus/kood/t-mobile. Here are a few that I've tried and would highly recommend (currently running darthstalker)
Darthstalker
Jedi Knight
Koodo V4
Xtremeperia
happy flashing!
Thanks four the links! I am currently running the Koodo 4.0.4 v.4 that is working well. One thing I was having problems with was having the phone pull the wrong APN settings for the Koodo mod as I am a Telus user. At first I couldn't get data service but I got it sorted thanks to another user posting the solution being manually entering the APN settings for Telus.
I will try out the ROMs you linked, thanks for your suggestion!

Hey guys, sorry if I sound like a noob and all, but I was wondering if I could install the new Jellybeer ROM on my Note 2 for T-mobile. The development section for my device doesn't have any 4.2.x roms and I would love to try this one out. Originally, jellybeer had no modem so it could be installed on any LTE note but I'm not so sure about the 4.2 version. I was planning to just try flashing it and getting lucky, but I didn't want to risk it! Any help would be great
My friend has my old S3 that came from ATT and got it unlocked to t-mobile, and i was wondering if flashing a custom rom to it will mess anything up? I'm assuming I need to use rom's for t-mobile...any input or experiences greatly appreciated! Thanks

You can flash any tmobile custom rom since the AT&T phone is unlocked.
Flashing a good custom rom will make the phone run a lot smoother, better
battery life, many extra features and it definitely will look a lot nicer.
I highly suggest to go with the Wicked v10 custom rom.
There is nothing else like it for the S3 at the present time.
It's the most professional custom rom which is available
for our phones here on XDA
Good luck!

Hey Guys,
First off, thanks to all the devs on here for working hard! Without you guys, we wouldn't be anywhere on our phones.
I haven't flashed my GNexus in a year now.
I am currently running 4.2.1 (JellyBean) JBSourcery-V4.3 and my radio bandwith is I515.10 V.FF02/1515.FG02
I would like to update this bad boy to the latest Radio, as well as run a bug-free ROM/Kernel.
I know that JBSourcery didn't create roms for KitKat. But I did love their work and will miss them!
What would you guys recommend?
Btw, I have the GNexus with Verizon Wireless!
Thanks!:fingers-crossed:
P.S. - Any links to the downloads would help out so much!
In addition, should I flash the Radio first and then the ROM/Kernel?
How do I flash again? It's been over a year I haven't flashed and don't want to brick my phone as I am going from JellyBean to KitKat.

I'm not sure about the radio as that is not something I am familiar with, but a quick snoop around XDA lead me to the main GNexus Q&A forums (
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/help) and this thread which includes a section about installing ROMs, Kernels and Tweaks (http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/help/guide-ultimate-nexus-4-root-guide-t2018179)
Thanks for your response!
However, I'm still trying to figure out when I am going from JellyBean to KitKat, how am I supposed to install a radio/ROM/Kernel?
I read those instructions and I think it pertains to only if your on the same operating system (like going from JellyBean to JellyBean).
Also, I'm not sure if I should update the newer VZW radio or should I keep the one I am on? (I515.10 V.FF02/1515.FG02)
Can anyone else please help me?
