I have the network unlock code for my ROOTED Orange HTC Desire which says it is accepted when entered. Once the phone has booted on the non-Orange sim it doesn't receive a signal from the network and an error is reported when I try and search for available networks. Each time I reboot the phone I have to re-enter the Network Unlock code again.
The SIM card being used is active as I have proved it on another SIM free phone.
I am running Redux-2 2.31 ROM with the original Radio.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Does anybody know how to overcome the problem?
Thanks in advance!

Search for a tool the Advance Ace Hack Kit. That will both root and unlock your phone.

Hi
I bought my Galaxy Nexus from someone on ebay and I assumed it would have been an unlocked phone .. However after using it for 2 months, it was suddenly unable to access the network (Vodafone, UK).
After upgrading phone to 4.2.1 and changing SIM card, there was still no improvement. Then Vodafone informed me that my phone is "locked" to their network and I need an unlock code.
I have, since, purchased an Unlock code, but the device does NOT prompt me to enter an unlock code when the Vodafone SIM is inserted. The directions in the unlock procedure have been advised as below:
1.So... type *#7465625*638*
2.Then type YOUR UNLOCK CODE
3.Type #
4.Press ENTER or OK
I have no idea how to type a number in the dialpad and press "Enter" because the only option I have is to "dial" .. which leads me to a "no network" error.
At my wits end ... any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
thanks !
If it's a Vodafone phone then a Vodafone SIM should just work - the SIM lock would only apply to non-Vodafone SIM cards...besides, all Galaxy Nexus' were SIM-free AFAIK

I don't know what network the phone was tied to earlier .. but I bought it and was using it with a Vodafone SIM. It's not a Vodafone phone per se .. and I was quite sure my phone was a SIM-free unlocked phone anyways.
But the tech support team at Vodafone say that the phone is locked to their network.

Please let me know if there is any way to unlock a mobile when it is NOT prompting for an unlock code when the new SIM is inserted.

Hi I have a SGH-T989D (telus/koodo) showing Network unknown (emergency calls only).
Bought unlocked phone with 2.3.5 Gingerbreard (telus software) phone is Koodo worked on with Virgin mobile SIM. Updated using Samsung Kies to ICS 4.0.3 after that network status reads Network unknown. My SIM dosen't work, Tried Koodo SIM worked for a sec. then shows network unknown. Tried Rogers SIM asks for Network unlock code. Put in Bell SIM shows same as Virgin SIM network unknown.
I flashed the phone with ICS 4.0.4 Koodo (T989DTLLG2_T989DKDOLG2_T989DTLLG2_HOME.tar.md5) found at sammobile. Phone still reads network unknown.
I am a noob so can anyone help me to get my phone to work as a phone again.
EDIT: Thanks for all the help phone is working
