Okay... I'm a i8150 user (Galaxy W) and i have been experiencing Wifi problems since 2 weeks ago. I'm not so sure what is wifi drop, but my problem is that my wifi is unable to scan for any network which is actually available... I am sure the problem does not lie on the router. (Btw, my router and broadband are integrated). To support that, my wifi can't detect my neighbours network and my friend's wifi hotspot. There's a day between this 2 weeks, my wifi worked but lasted for half a day before it comes inactive again...
Tried flashing many different roms and kernel, but to no avail. Tired and most probably turning to my warranty soon.
However, if anyone came across this problem, do share your solutions with me.
Latest resort -> I flashed the latest Malaysia stock rom

For a few weeks we have 2 N7100's.
With both phones there are problems with WiFi.
Sometimes it won't connect, but worse, it won't disconnect.
WiFi keeps telling that it's connected to our AP even when we're out of town.
This way we won't get on 3G.
The only solution is to throttle the WiFi.
One phone is rooted.
One phone is un-rooted.
Both had WiFi-static, but I've removed that on the un-rooted phone.
This didn't help either.
Is this something in the software?

I've never had any problems with it on my Note 2. The first week i was stock and unrooted. Then rooted with ARHD and now i'm using ParanoidAndroid, still without any issues. Can connect to any network just fine, with password and without and disconnects fine too.
Did you try and do a reflash? factory reset? reset router? Perhaps some app is messing around with it.
Must be an issue caused by the modem/router, my wifi works flawless and is super fast mate.
The problem is on different AP's (locations, brands, settings) and both Notes had this problem from the beginning.
I'm wondering if it could be caused by having multiple SSID's in the settings of which some are working with static settings.

Hi all,
I recently got WIFI connections in home and my phone wifi is acting kind of crazy.
It connects without any problems but internet doesn't work. I have to turn OFF and ON the WIFI in the phone for couple of times to make it work.
I flashed and running stock 4.3 from the sammobile after the release.
I just want to know it's is just because of 4.3 bug or my router is causing the issue. It works fine with my office WIFI network.
I can use all other phones and computers in WIFI without problems.
Any advice will be appreciated.
So I bought a Nexus 5X 2 days ago. When I first started the phone it was running Android 6.0.0 and it didn't have issues. But a update for 6.0.1 showed up and I downloaded it. And then the issues came. It cannot find any wifi network... The problem isn't from my network, because every other device finds my home network and all the neighbors network, but the 5X doesn't find any... I tried factory reset, network reset, cache reset, nothing helped. I even tried Android N beta and for a moment it fixed the issue, but this morning the wifi problem occurred again. I sign out from the N beta and through Mobile network it managed to download the last stable version(that's what google is calling it) - 6.0.1 and the problem was still there.. after some restarts of the phone and some factory resets, i thought the problem was gone, because it managed to find every wifi network in the area, but after i used the phone for 25-30 minutes, the wifi problem occurred again and ever since... So, is this a common issue with the phone, or the android 6.0.1, or is my phone a defected one? Should I go to the store and ask for a replacement? Or will the next phone do the same thing ?

Hi something similar happened to my 5X (6.0.1). It was able to find wifi network but I was not able to use internet even-though internet was working for other devices. I have restarted phone but my phone stuck in to WIFI Obtaining IP address...
I have restarted my router and problem resolved. Happened two times. Might be some bug in software.
I'm currently facing this very same issue, no WIFI networks are showing up. I've already flashed latest N preview with same results, funny thing is that this morning was working just fine. But I had to reboot the phone and now it won't detect any WIFI Network at all.
I'm starting to think I have a failed unit, but since I'm outside the "US" I can't send it back for warranty repair. So I'll just keep it and keep restarting until it's fixed again. This is really frustrating, never happened to me with any device I owned before.

Is it every wifi or just your wifi?
If it is just your wifi, try factory resetting your router after recording the settings, or try removing some entries that my be using NVRAM.
I've seen cases where the router runs out of NVRAM to record the DHCP entries and that causes connection issues. It doesn't show up for other devicdes because their entries are already stored in NVRAM. It is just the incremental new device you add that triggers the problem, so you naturally think the problem is with the new device since all your other devices work with the router.
my solution for wifi not found/working
i´ve upgraded from the nexus 5 to 5x.
i had a really weird issue with my wifi.
only found my wifi when i was not in airplanemode. so i read 1000 of articles about the wifi of the n5x.
just the standard blabla. so i did my own research
while my n5 and my n7 + 2 laptops had never issues my new 5x didnt find my wifi. i really thought it was an hw-issue. but it wasnt.
i am using a fritzbox router. newest update, made a reboot, rebooted phone. nothing happened.
then i checked my wifi channels, set it to manually and instantly found my wifi. i really never expected that the channel got such a big influence. may be the latest update brought a bug for the wifi channels or the hw is just not capable of some channels, dunno. but this is what helped me and it was nowhere mentioned in any forum.
tl;dr
try to change your wifi channel of the router.
edit: btw i found the 5ghz while the 2,4ghz wifi didnt work. but i wanted the 2,4ghz wifi to work because of the short range of my 5ghz wifi.
atm i am on channel 8 and i got no problems with the 2,4ghz wifi network

I don't know about Europe, but usually in the US we only use channels 1,6,11 to prevent overlap.
This is because there is overlap in the channels so you can't really use the in between channels due to too much interference. If you are the only wifi transmission in your area it is fine to use any channel, but if there are others and they are using standard channels for no overlap/interference and you are using in-between channels, your signals are probably going to interfere with each other.
When everyone is using the set channels, then they can negotiate properly and everything works better. With overlapping frequency bands, the negotiation doesn't work well because your signal sometimes looks like noise to the other device.

Hi, thanks for your help but unfortunately it's every wifi... it just hangs on "Searching for Wi-Fi Network..." and stays there...
I already talked with LG and they asked me to send the unit for repair, but I'm no in the US anymore (I was for a short time of period and that's when I bought this phone). So that would not be an option, right now I'm only using 4G and trying to measure it, lol
Just another question, do you guys think I could use a WIFI external dongle through USB OTG? Could that be possible on the Nexus 5X?
Thanks for your help! :good::good:

Hi, thanks for the suggestion but the problem I'm facing it's with every wifi network around, not only mine.
I guess unit is defective, but could a simple reboot trigger this kind of behavior? This is strange, never happened on any device I've owned before. :crying:
Hey!
I've had my Oneplus 3 for a couple of weeks now, and I am having major connection issues while using mobile data. Most of the time I am unable to get any connection so I can't even make a phone call. I have read about similar issues and how they have been resolved, but none of the tricks have done it for me. If I enable airplane mode and then disable it, I get a weak connection for a while (maybe 10 minutes). I have two IMEI-codes on my phone, like I should. WiFi connection works well. I am on OOS 3.2.4 at the moment.
Here's a list of all the things that I have tried:
Another SIM-card
Another service provider
Manual APN settings
Different OS versions
Turning radio off and on from the "secret menu" (*#*#4636#*#*). This has the same effect as the airplane mode, which means that I get a weak connection for a moment.
Every bit of help is greatly appreciated.
I had the same problem with 6 ROM (all based on CM). After a day or so i lost connection.
Now i'm on Official CM13 and its all working for 4 days (fingers crossed).
The only thing that i've done different is that i didn't use Titanium Backup and also CMThemer.
I don't know how helpful this is, but that's my experience with the matter.
Cheers !
I am having same issue from the day 1 of my usage. Upgraded OxygenOS, tried different SIMs, changed APN, toggled preferred connection LTE to 3G etc and even on Official Cm13, the issue persists. Even when I am outdoors, the connection is poor and unstable. The same SIM works very well on Oneplus 1 without any issues. I am really fed up and regretting my choice to buy Oneplus 3. Is there any way to solve this issue? I stay in Dubai and there are no Oneplus service centers here and neither I can return the device, as the return period has expired.
In the last 6 months or so I have been experiencing frequent wifi issues, regardless of the custom ROM I'm using. Usually some time after a new installation I am unable to connect to the networks I normally use (my home network and the one at work which uses a proxy server). No matter what I do (clear cache, factory reset, change ROM...) the problem persists. In settings a number of random messages are given: secured, disabled, authentication problem, etc. Every now and then I can get a connection (never at work though) but it doesn't last long. Any help for troubleshooting this would be appreciated. I hope it isn't hardware failure since I'm still enjoyng this tablet after all these years!
Mine started having wifi issues off and on a couple of weeks ago. The wifi started to not turn back on after waking it up, at first just in manually turning it off and then back on seemed to work. Last Friday it just wouldn't stay on at all. I would go to the wifi in settings, it sometimes would get stuck saying turning on. I finally did a factory reset on it, it at first seemed to fix the problem, even spent a couple of hours trying to get everything set back up. Then the problem returned, it just keeps turning the wifi off, if i can even get it to turn on at all. I was going to try and use my phone as a hotspot through Bluetooth (not sure if i can or jot, never tried before), but even the Bluetooth won't stay on. So Sunday, after spending way to many hours fighting with it, i went out and got a new tablet.

Have you tried using the Samsung Kies app to flash the latest stock rom, Dont use Odin or other non Samsung approved flashing software.
I have had my T800 for over 4 years and had no real problem with the wifi connection, But i have heard that there can be compatibility problems with some wifi routers, Also try changing the channel number on your router, Auto channel was giving me poor connection on my PC, I ran the inSSIDer wifi app and it said to manually change my wifi channel to channel 1 the clearest channel as other wifi and bluetooth and wifi dongle even you smart gas/electric can cause interference., auto was picking channel 13 for some reason and it fixed my problem.

Thanks, but since it's the router at my workplace there's not much I can do on that side. Question is, are there any specific steps I can take to verify if it's software-related or if the wifi module is just gone?
Wifi and Bluetooth both use the 2.4ghz frequency, So they can interferer with each other and can cause constant disconnect`s, I have seen this many time, Use 5.0ghz on your T800 if you can, Or disable Bluetooth.
Does your wifi work OK on other brands of router?, Or is it just the one you are using at work.
John.
It's kind of tricky to answer: let's say the times this issue appeared it always stareted at work, but then also at home I couldn't keep a stable connection. Once the problem starts, I get no connection at work at all and very difficult connection at home (meaning it does connect intermittently).
UPDATE. After other attempts and a complete restore of stock firmware, I have both wifi and bluetooth not working, constantly "turning on...." but never activating.
