Hey.
Anyone know how to add new themes/skins to HOX without the need of root?
I have searched but cant find it anywhere on how to do it, except through golauncherx or other such apps.
Cheers.

wihtout having root, you are unable to modify skins and or framework of a rom. The Only way you can have skins or themes on stock is to have a aftermarket or other apk file that does not rely on the system's framework or resources. Try fancy widget, hd widgets and different launchers, because that is pretty much all that will work on a stock odexed rom.
But there shud be some some way to do it yeh? Because you can download new skins from htc market so i was hoping you could put some in urself as well.
Anyways thanx a lot for replyin :good:

Yeah it is possible, but we need to wait till m10tools is able to handle these apks,
I think
Yesterday I came across a HTC One S skin in Market, its called Beats Audio by Mcluvin Mods(just search for Beats Audio Sense 4)...So that goes to show that developers are probably working on skins for the One X which can be installed without rooting your One X.I guess all we have to do now is wait patiently till they start launching them.
Isn't it just a case of downloading a launcher and applying a theme via that?

For themes...yes!but getting 3rd party skins to work on htc one x is different story altogether. You need to flash them and need root access.....

But that isn't what the OP is asking?
I also didn't realise that you could use nearly any theme with Apex Launcher. All the GoLocker ones work I've read. I haven't tried any, but there is loads on the market for Apex, and I haven't tried any of these as I've made my own.

I think what he is asking for is something similar to this..."http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1641505 "...and you need root to apply it.But on other android you can simply install it in the form of .apk without having to root.
But then again,u might be right, its hard to tell who is aware of other mods out there and who isn't.

I'm really sorry if i wasn't clear enough.
I meant installing skins, and not themes using launchers. For unrooted HOX.
Skins, which are also available at the htc store to download. But there are only a few limited ones.

I don't know if one exists, but I do know that you can simply just extract the keyboard from a rom if you like how it looks. You don't need to go through the bother of flashing the rom or anything.

Would like to know as well...
I'm interested in this answer as well. I'm actually pretty happy with the "SlideIT" Keyboard, but I'd like to know if we can skin the dialer without being rooted. I just got my EVO this week, so there doesn't seem to be a ROOT method that is consistently working for the new build.... hence I'm waiting til there is one to ROOT. In the mean time, I was wanting to skin my dialer to look like an iphone dialer.

I agree, I just can't believe no o e has a response. I've seen plenty of skinned android keyboards, and dialers. Too bad I'm not knowledgeable in themeing otherwise I'd give it a shot. I wish there was a place just for metamorph themes.. I checked everywhere I possibly could.

I have been searching for a flashable zip for the keyboard in Virusrom's Anthraxx Rom...cannot find anywhere ;(
This is the keyboard I want to theme/be themed. I just wish I could find something on it, the keyboard you showed appears to be the DroidX/2 keyboard which almost has the same feel as the keyboard I posted. The keyboard I posted is the stock keyboard from CM6. Although, if it's not possible to find a themed keyboard (CM6 keyboard) then I will have to stick it out with the DX/2 keyboard, let me know what you think, and thanks for your help! Really!

Are you referring to the keyboard I just posted? Let me know if it is, I think that's what you were just talking about.
Edit: The keyboard in the Anthrax ROM is just an HTC_IME mod, themed HTC keyboard, go click the link in the earlier posts, you can make your own.
Edit: problem is now solved, I'm going to stay with the themed droid x keyboard. Sorry for all of the trouble, and thanks for the help that was given.

Blehhhhh! I can't believe you guys like this lwp! I really liked the old neural network better... Gingerbread's looks are also disappointing. I like that they finally went to the black bar but there are way too many green highlights. The hero sense rom had the perfect amount of greenhighlights but GB has way too many. Its almost like a secondary color really. And then the new market with the giant green splash on the carousel, yuk! Well anyways... sorry for *****ing. It just seems like I'm the only one that thinks GB is tacky as hell...
Good work on getting the lwp ported to CM, either way!
Has anybody been able to get this live wallpaper to work with a sense rom? I tried flashing the zip that was said to have worked as well but I still don't see the nexus s live wallpaper in my list. Help please

I just don't have time to do it - too busy with work...
I still have NO idea which images to edit inside these apk files...
This is what that link says:
In the drawable-sw600dp-mdpi folder:
ic_lockscreen_handle_normal.png
ic_lockscreen_handle_pressed.png
unlock_default.png
unlock_halo.png
unlock_ring.png
unlock_wave.png
In the drawable-mdpi folder:
ic_lockscreen_camera_activated.png
ic_lockscreen_camera_normal.png
ic_lockscreen_glowdot.png
ic_lockscreen_handle_pressed.png
ic_lockscreen_ime.png
ic_lockscreen_lock_normal.png
ic_lockscreen_lock_pressed.png
ic_lockscreen_unlock_activated.png
ic_lockscreen_unlock_normal.png
I don't have ANY folders containing the letters MDPI. I have the HTC One X Running CM10...
And I want to edit pattern lock, not slide to unlock...
EDIT : Are the lines binding the circles maybe an XML file?
Edit: didn't read. Anyway looking in mdpi is not going to get you anywhere as that's only used by.. Mdpi phones. Look in drawable-xhdpi or in one of the xml folders instead. I'm pretty sure it's xml work though, unfortunately for you.

You can just install over a newer version? I thought you had to delete cached copies of the new one as well as the base APK before doing so? I flashed the black version one and no matter what I do, after installing the old one again, a phone restart brings it back to the new black one ): Tried the APK you posted, the old one stays until a phone reset, then it goes back to the new black one in the OP D:
And all "My Apps" seems to have disappeared, although it says Installed in the "All" tab.... ):

Go to settings and applications, then all applications locate the play store and clear data and cache. Go to system/app and remove the app. Reboot and install the old one.
