My truck stereo supports bluetooth audio, and I have a Jawbone Era. My phone auto connects to truck when I get in. If I turn my Era on, it can't connect to phone until I shut truck stereo off. Vice versa as well.
My iPhone 4 could connect to both at same time, and so could my even older blackberry. This allows me to listen to music on on, and take calls on the other if I wish.
How do I enable this on my HOX?
Is this and android limitation, or an HTC limitation?
You can only have one profile active at a time. If your truck and headset both use the handsfree profile, you'll have to turn it off for the truck so you can connect to the headset.
My car only uses the a2dp profile, but when I connect it to my headset too it only uses my car's a2dp and not my headset's a2dp.

Ok that makes sense, thanks.
Can I choose which device gets access to that profile, like on the iPhone, or is it always first come, first serve?
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
In your bluetooth setting menu next to each device you can long press on an entry and choose options to disable a specific profile.

When I going to blue tooth devices, I see my devices. Long press does nothing, but clicking on the button beside I can see the profiles.

But when I try to unchecked a profile it just tries to connect to using that profile. Long press doesn't seem to work here either. Maybe I have to be connected to the device to disable the profile.
I am on the right track now, thanks.

Oh yeah, sorry long press was Gingerbread

Yep, you have to be conn cted to the device before it will let you disable a profile.
Thanks for the help, all working now.

is there a remote out there that can change the songs and what not on the evo...my van has a dvd player connected to the ceiling and i hook up an auxiliary cable to it and play music through the car speakers that way, sometimes a song comes on that i dont want to hear and its kinda of a pain to have to turn on and unlock the phone, i was hoping there might be a controller out there that connects with bluetooth or something i can hook up on the dash somewhere and just hit one button to skip songs, etc.
:/
+1 I need of those on my car
If you use cyanogenmod theres an option for holding down the volume rockers to skip forwards or backward. Otherwise I don't think theres a remote.

I know there are auxillary Bluetooth receivers that allow you to play music. I imagine some might have controls on them. EBay is your friend.

I know your not looking for a headset but this one has a remote, you can still make the sounds go out the AUX port.

It might look kind of funny holding a headset to change songs lol
the only thing i can think of is dowloading remote for itunes, plugging a laptop to the aux cables, having another phone tether wireless, connect the remote for itunes to the itunes through the wireless that the other phone is tethering.. but thats alot of trouble.. lol
Hmm. Headphones wouldn't work since the auxiliary is adlready in use.. what about bt headphones? Can you use both at the same time?
Gimme a couple a days to come up with a new sig that is cool.
Try searching for the Satechi BT Media remote. About $40 on amazon. Works great for changing tracks and volume on my phone.

Hi! I switched to Modaco's Rom from AOKP and one feature that I am missing is the ability to skip tracks by holding the volume rocker while the screen is off. I use Poweramp and it's supposed to have this feature however I cant get it to work :/ Should I enable it as a setting (i couldnt find anything related in the settings) or is it just not compatible with my rom?
Thanks
This topic was heavy talked about on Poweramp forums. The poweramp developer said that volume button can't be control by Poweramp unless it has root. Which he at this time have no interest unless Google changes to allow apps handle some hardware without root.
It is a rom feature. You could ask Madoco to add the feature into the rom. You also could use button saviour app till its add to the rom. You can find the app by searching xda.

So you mean that if my phone is rooted it should work? My phone is routed and it still doesn't work :/

No, he is meaning that poweramp could use volume rocker to change track if your phone was rooted, but it wont happen because they dont have any interest making special things for people with rooted phone.
It works fine with aokp and power amp.

Is there a mod (.zip file) to add this to another (non-AOKP) rooted rom?
I use codename and can switch tracks with poweramp. I have to now because I bought an amp and can't with my klipsch ear buds anymore

There's playerpro in the market which has the very option in the menus I switched to that fro. Power amp. Try it. Under lock screen. I'm using cm9 atm

I have one of thoose F USB to M Micro USB adaptors, and I can use it with my wireless keyboard on my Xoom to control it. With my Xoom, I just plug it in and it works.
With my One X, nothing happens and no mouse appears.
Is there anything I need to do for this to work? I'm running CyanogenMod 20121223-NIGHTLY.
Thanks for any help!

Could you describe your keyboard a little bit more? Is it bluetooth keyboard, or some proprietary connection (like Logitech keyboards)?
In case if it's a BT keyboard, then you can just connect it via BT, but I'm 100% sure you're already aware of it.
It's not Bluetooth as far as I know.
There's just a small USB receiver for it which I plug into my computer, and in this case, my One X. However my One X doesn't recognise it.
It doesn't recognise a wired USB mouse either. :?

For USB devices to work you first need to receive the jb update.

Sense JB ROM has OTG enabled can't be sure about AOSP if it is enabled there may be a problem with your OTG cable as I can use mouse and keyboard without problems.
Aosp doesnt have usb otg feature as of yet.
But Kholks kernel does support this feature on aosp roms i guess.
I use Insert Coin and with an OTG cable, my USB keyboard works fine

Running latest version with stage fright update & latest Google app.
Audio output from Google Now is muffled & quiet over BT.
Also frequently it won't recognise the Google Now voice command and/or fails to recognise the instruction after opening, sometimes saying cannot connect to Google or words to that effect.
It seems to be rock solid without BT.
I'm sure it was fine before the stage fright update.
Note, this is following a full RUU reinstall/reset, then OTA
Any assistance gratefully received.

Another oddity & probably related.
When adjusting the volume whilst Google Now is saying something, the volume slider is showing the speaker icon instead of the BT which I see with everything else.
Before you ask, yes the audio is definitely coming out of the BT device.
Anyone else experiencing this?
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
Can anyone please try Google Now over BT and let me know if they get the same issue.
Try asking something like what's the weather tomorrow so there's a reasonable length output to listen to.
Thanks.

Works fine for me.
I'm still on 4.16.401.10 though.
Curiouser & curiouser
When I disable Phone Audio in the BT device & leave just media checked, the output is fine. Tick phone audio again & problem returns.
2 of my devices are giving me this issue
A car unit Pioneer MVH-350BT
A headset Mpow Swift.
My Sony headset SBH52 works just fine.
A bit disappointed that no one else has verified this isuue one way or the other.
Please try.
Thank you.

I'm guessing that's a different issue, maybe try clearing Google App cache and/or data
Please, please can others see if they can replicate the issue. It's driving me nuts.

(fix at end of post)
Problem:
Hello, so this is my biggest annoyance with the Robin, which I have been using for about 6-8 months now (and recently FINALLY was upgraded to N).
My problem is that, with any bluetooth device (speakers, headset, car head unit), there are only two styles of volume. This is likely caused by Bluetooth absolute volume (or synchronized volume). I don't know how to disable this without root.
1-3 is VERY quiet, I can barely hear it at all.
4-10 is VERY LOUD, I can't even wear my headphones and listen to music.
I mean, 1-3 goes from like 1-2dB, and then 4-10 jumps straight to 90-120dB. There is no middle ground, and it doesn't help that every bluetooth device now pairs with the volume control, too. I can't set one setting on my phone and fine-tune the volume on my device like I used to be able to a year or two ago.
I would like to listen to music using my phone again, but this is making it impossible..... I don't want to root this phone as it's a work phone and the stock robin android is very good, so I won't be able to manually adjust volume settings (unless that no longer requires root)
Cheers!
Resolution:
Android N simply switched to absolute Bluetooth volume controls. In the past I only knew how to bypass this with root privileges, however my stock Robin OS now shows a new option in Dev options to manually disable Bluetooth absolute volume. Disabling this fixed all sound issues I was experiencing and increased the quality of bluetooth sound.
