Anyone know why my Epic Touch 4G keeps resetting? I am on AOKP build 37. Random reboots are very annoying.

I'd suggest going back to stock to see if it's ROM related, if you get no reboots then re-flash the ROM and see if it happens again.
By any chance are you using Wi-Fi or have it enabled when the reboots happen? It's the only thing that I've seen which has caused it for me - but I'm also using a custom wpa_supplicant.conf so it may be a setting in there that the binary may not always like.

Yea it is usually enabled. I already flashed back to stock though. I just went through 3 batteries letting this thing reboot itself nonstop.

hi guys.
Im having an issue
I changed from stock to rcmix3d rom and it keeps rebooting by itself.
Everything is working fine but the reboot issue is killing me
any help please?
Did you check the MD5 of the ROM before flashing? Does it actually boot so you can use it? Or are you stuck in a bootloop before it actually gets to a point where you can use it?

Do you get any error messages or strange behaviour before it reboots? What apps have you installed if any?
even i had the same issue with rcmix3d ,problem started after i flashed a new radio file though...nothing helped i had to flash a new fom..if by any chance you are running any UV script reset it with reset.zip UV is also known to cause tis issue
I guess I posted this in the wrong forum last time...sorry
Hi guys, I'm running this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1485722 and I'm having one major issue....recurrent bootloops from no where. I'll often check my phone after it having been in my pocket, and it will be bootlooping. Or I'll be using an application and it will happen...phone freezes, starts bootlooping.
A battery pull fixes the loop, but it happens time and time again. I tried fixing permissions in CWM but that didn't fix it. I love the rom and want to use it, but its unreliability is such a flaw that I simply cannot.
Tl;dr: I like the rom, want to fix random bootloops. If this is not possible, do you have any suggestions on either similar roms, or straight up better ones with reliability?
Thanks

Again, did you try wiping and reflashing? Are you overclocked

I will wipe and reflash tonight, thanks for the tip... hopefully it works =D
I've been having the same problem. The odd thing is that it seemed to only happened to sense roms. I tried Mikrunny, TSMtrinity, TSMvanilla, and Sabotage. I full wiped before each flash and didnt overclock. After a few minutes it would randomly reboot. I got frustrated and restored an old MIUI backup and it hasn't rebooted since.
Working thus far...thanks guys!
Is anyone else having this problem, was fine all day now is randomly rebooting. What must be done to fix this?? Install was done correctly
Random Reboots tend to happen because of the leaked ICS kernel/ROM. it also causes FC's. Lets just hope soon we get the official ICS.

Random reboots are mostly being caused by using 4G while the Hacked Hotspot is setup on your phone. Currently the work-around is to turn-off 4G or to ask your dev to remove it from the ROM.
I have the Verizon Galaxy Nexus running on CM10; and just this morning my phone began to randomly reboot. I had been running this configuration stably for the past month or two.
The random reboots manifest themselves as a frozen/locked screen for a few seconds before the phone reboots. It looks to be a hard reboot, since it does go back to the Google screen. I have found that using my phone heavily (e.g. gaming) seems to slow the frequency of these reboots(if not stop them completely). At worst; they appear to happen every couple of minutes.
Coincident with the random reboots, my phone appears to have lost all cell network connectivity - it does not even report a signal strength anymore. No phone calls, nothing.
So far, I have tried re-flashing CM10 with ROMManager; fixing permissions, and uninstalling some apps. I don't know enough on where to look to fix the issue, and any help would be appreciated.
you try to flash a custom kernel?

No. I haven't done any major tinkering lately. Never even tried a custom kernel.
FWIW, when I get to the screen with the Android on its back (on the way into recovery mode), it says that my CDMA baseband version is Unknown. Is that normal? Realted maybe?
What radio are you using? Check to make sure it's the latest, I don't know the Toro radios but if it's the same as Toroplus its FH05.
I did some searching, and found other people having issues with their Galaxy S3 rebooting randomly, but they were having that issue with CM 11. Since I'm still on 10.2, though, the methods that they suggest (mainly installing the updated gapps for CM 11) won't work.
Heres's the background info:
I'm on Sprint, and have been having issues with LTE reception ever since I switched from Touch Wiz to CM back in October. The issue started a couple weeks ago when I found out that the MK3 modem was available. I was still on MD4, and having issues with LTE reception, I thought this new modem would help. I downloaded an install zip file I found on this site and used CWM to install it. That same day I also found out about an updated apns-config.xml file that had helped out other people that used Sprint/Ting with LTE reception. I found that file here (I'm still considerd a new user, so replace _ with a period):
help_ting_com/entries/23423026
The install zip that I downloaded from that site didn't work, so I backed up the original apns-config.xml, and manually replaced it with the new one. I had to change permissions on a couple folders in order to replace it, too.
That day is when the random reboots started happening. I've since reverted back to the MD4 modem, and have also reverted to a backup of the old apns-conf.xml. I've also changed the permissions to the system and system/etc folders to what they were before, as well. The random reboots keep happening, though.
Any help would be amazing.

When I 1st flashed a cm11 based rom, I had random reboots. I solved the problem by changing kernel governor from interactive to on demand. I have not had a single reboot in months. All phones are built differently though. I've had mine since they 1st came out.

Thanks. I tried this, and it didn't seem to work. Phone's still randomly rebooting. I'm on 10.2, btw. Haven't moved to 11 yet.

The best way to truly fix your issue is to start back over at square 1... Odin it back to stock with the tar or MD5 file. The last thing you want to do is make things worse trying too many things.
If you can get back into recovery wipe everything, (but not your Sd card ) as long as you've got a Rom on your Sd card to flash. Don't flash the same rom again, your issue could be a number of things.
- If you made a backup before flashing then revert back to it. Then try to download the rom again, or if you can download the latest slimkat on another pc and copy it to your sd card it's small a quick download and it will get you back up and running.
That is, if you don't feel like using Odin.

So I wiped, and started over, and then restored data, but the random reboots are still happening. Should I not have restored data? I'd like to avoid losing everything if I could.

Data restore could very well be the culprit.

So I'd have to start from scratch? Is there any way I could keep my data?
