Granted, it's another unit, but today I picked up a 5000 mAh battery pack and the sucker lasts forever. Costs about 50 bucks. (Mind you, it takes forever to charge, but if you play hog heavy games like ingress, it's absolutely worth it, if you don't mind being wired up to something else.. (It's about the size of an old iPod). But for a better battery that you wouldn't know is there, that one looks not bad...

I bought a different power bank instead which my brother misplaced sadly. The cost was around 15-17 $ as far as i remember and the capacity was 5000 mAh. It used to take 6-7 hours to charge but was capable to charge the phone around 2.5-3 times on every charge.
Have a look at this:

I prefer the 2800mah one, which acts as a phone casing too. More convenient I would say.

best slim extended battery?

So im in the market for a new battery. A higher capacity one but slimline. I do not want a different size battery door. Anybody know of any good ones for a decent price?
Great question. I'm wondering the same thing.
I bought this one. I had to wait a month for it since is came from Hong Kong. I can get ~16 hours running the screen at 80% brightness, texting alot, 3g radio always on, constantly checking email. No complaints other than the time it took to ship.

I was sceptical but the reviews swayed me and I tried these- http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003XOUM12
I'm pleasantly surprised, I notice a definite difference in battery life and the wall charger is a bonus. For the price it's hard to beat and delivery was within a week.

$24??? Ouch man. I've bought tons of them and I always get them for $17 for two of them and a charger with free shipping. It usually only takes 2 weeks to get here.

Personally I have found these batteries no better than the stock htc red. With juice defender I get fair batt life with either...10-16 hours or so. I do find the wall charger useful as the battery never gets fully charged when charging in the phone.
There are no slim batteries that are better than stock, the only thing to increase your battery is to add a few millimeters oh my god, to your phone and get a 3500 you won't be disappointed, and yes like someone already said, use the search button next time this must be my like 6th time answering this question muskeg let alone if someone else did too, which I feel has happened too

i get 17-22 hours with my best buy platnium battery (seido knock off) tht i bought off ebay.. so i would disagree there are some extended battery tht does work and there are some that doesnt have the right mah...
I have the 2000mah battery and its marginally better than my OEM battery.
The Seidio stock size extended battery sucks. Doesn't even charge past 90% anymore, and I didn't really notice a difference.

I just bought a 2 pack (2 batteries and 2 covers) for $18 with free shipping from Georgia. Hope to get it soon. Should I really expect a short life for this battery?
I bought 2 extra batteries and a wall charger for the battery itself(1). I never run out of juice cuase i always have 2 extra batteries in my car. The items did come from hong kong and was only like 9.7x anyways it was really cheap and works liek a champ as some1 said before. These hong kong items are an american buy

I have 2 sets of extra batts and an extended batt. I rotate every day and it seems to keep the batteries fresh. Plus I don't charge them in my phone so I don't see that loss of 7-8% juice when you unplug.

Thanks for the info. I've got my battery in and used for about 3 days. At first I was worried b/c it drained quick. But I let it drain all the way and then did a full charge and it's running like a champ. I'm going to cycle it one more time as well.
Currently I'm sitting with an uptime of 37 hours and 5 minutes with 35% battery life. This is with my normal use during the work day that consists of texts, some web browsing, phone calls and random games/facebook. Doing this usually requires me to charge my phone at work or it will die pretty soon after being home.
So far It's been a good $20 invested for both my battery and wife's.
I just ordered the Seideio 3500 mah battery from Newegg. I've read nothing but good reviews for that battery, I hope it works out good.
I have been using the "Chi Chi Tech" 2x "1900" mAh batteries & charger from Amazon. I have been using them for about 5 months, swapping them out a couple of times per week and they last just as long as the original 1500mAh battery that came with the EVO, maybe even a little bit longer.
Not a bad deal for $24.

On my previous phone 6$ battery with 3500mAh worked much longer than stock battery.
I might get this battery. I am getting a decent amount of battery life now. I want to see how fat the mofo will be first!
I've used a 3200mAh from Mugen for my Desire and it worked fine. Will try this one, should give you round about one business week.
I keep you in touch when I got it.
Had an excellent experience with the same battery for SGS and definitely going to buy this one for my SGS II!!!
Mugen batteries are quality batteries.
If a 1650mAh samsung battery costs about 50$, then 99$ for double the power is a logical price.
mugen makes great batteries. bought one for my nexus one and it works great. you take risk buying those el cheapos on ebay. not all are bad, but by the time you finish buying one that is rated at face value you might end up spending $99. haha.
And your beautiful slim-lined phone is gone...
No thanx!
who needs slim? some people like meat on their phones. and for them to keep going and going all night long.
I just pulled the trigger! Got it directly from mugen which ships on the 15th:
http://www.mugen-power-batteries.co...ung-galaxy-s-ii-si9100-with-battery-door.html
I've used their extended batteries for the nexus one, the G2x and the Atrix and all of them have been awesome. I'm not really bothered by the thickness or weight of the phone as some do. I prefer the extended battery life. Didn't think twice about this one.

Yeah it will. Mugen makes very good batteries.
The only issue now is to see how many MM they've added onto it! It looks pretty ugly right off the top. But that's OK I guess.
I get 1 full day of usage off of the stock battery. So the extended will give me 2 days as it's just under 2x the power.
15.5 mm with the mugen accessories. so almost double thickness.
srsly?
Nearly 100 quid to make your phone look ugly as hell?
I easily get 2 days out of my battery, no need to dismember it like that.

And do you actually USE your phone? Yesterday mine was on standby for about 24 hours with 1 hour of screen usage in the 24 hours. This morning I woke up, I had 65% left. Which is fine! Perfect. But with me actually using my phone all day? I'll get 18 hours. Now! Imagine playing games and streaming content all day with that huge battery hehe.
I like the battery, I won't like the design of the phone much afterwards. I'll wait for someone to get it and take lots of pictures and even a video review. I'm not dying right now for battery life Not to mention, an OEM battery is about 24 euros. So I could get essentially 3 OEM batteries for less than the price of the Mugen!
Interested.....
Waiting for opinion on the batery
Cheers

But one is MUCH cheaper than the other... Man, $100 on a battery is not something I'm willing to spend.
I've been using a generic ($10) 5000 mAh one last weekend, during a trip to the beach. It was enough to be sure to last all day even when using the phone a lot (maps, taking pictures, looking up adresses, reading, whatsapp...)
The one by Seidio is VERY good, it last double than the original as it is expected...
Thou shalt not defile the appearance of their note with an extended battery.
i purchased 2 of those batteries they sell as oem batteries instead of buying an extended battery. I love the shape , lightness and slimness of my sexy gnote so i couldnt bare to ruin it. So easy to carry the batteries around and replacing them is a piece of cake. You don't have to wait for the phone in plug to be fully charged as well. So u can buy a cheap charging device which is also very light and portable and leave the spare battery on charge when u are on the go with ur gnote. One of the replacement batteries do perform as great as the oem one that comes with the note itself but the other one sucks. With using problematic one i have weird random lines on my screen which i suspect is because of wrong voltage. I bought these batteries from two different sellers.
Sorry. God doesn't recommend on the battery.
Just jk. External or extra battery?

[Q] Mugen Power 4600mAh battery for S3? Review?

I found this thread where G1_enthusiast reviewed Anker and Seidio batteries for S3, but I also found the 4600mAh battery from Mugen Power earlier than these, and ordered it.
All I head is that cheap batteries are made out of almost expired materials and work for like 200 charge cycles, which explains their price. The expensive ones like Mugen or Seidio work for 400-500 charges, which is better, but would be awesome if some one could review the 4600mAh one. I will post my results later when I receive it, but I don't have experience in doing such tests.

reason why they are not popular is the price tag, i used to think their company is out of japan but in fact they are base out of hong kong (people tend to think china stufff are ****ty). so what make their battery better than anker or hyperion? having say that, i have own their battery before (G2 and SGS2) and they do make battery longer than stock. however i was not into crazy testing at the time. i will not pay 100 bucks for battery again, as long as anker is in bussiness.
seido is the only battery company that is base in texas...thats not to say their factory isnt in china either. they also make quality battery in the past

Well, as I head many times and experienced myself on older phones (I have a 3900mAh from Mugen for Nexus S that works for 1.5 years already) - industry standards cannot produce a good quality battery and sell it for 10$. Those batteries are usually made out of expired materials. The issue here is not just the capacity but the battery life cycle. Cheap batteries have confirmed to last for 100-200 charges, however batteries from Seidio or Mugen last for 400-600 charges, not to say about warranty and safety + NFC support.
Also, for me personally customer support and brand presence is more important than being cheap. If I can afford a phone that costs 800$, I surely can get a good quality battery for a 100$. I will get the battery soon, btw, and will let you know.
I also posted this here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30770441&postcount=85
I wonder if the Mugen battery will work with the extended cases that are being offered. I got one from Hyperion that I like. Judging by pictures it looks like the Mugen extended door may be a little bigger or designed different.
If the Mugen would fit with the other extended doors and TPU cases I would buy it. I've had great luck with them,

If a cheap extended battery lasts for 200 charges and I charge it every 2 days, it's still going to last over a year. I expect to have a new phone by this time next year if not sooner. So what's the big deal?

That is why you go for tested name brand but not super expensive. a mugen costs more than 5 times what a hyperion, qcell, etc. costs. but it is very unlikely they will last 5 times as many charges. there is nothing like a fresh battery!
Well, they're always out of stock...I guess they never back back-logs. Anyways, I've received my S3 battery and now I need to calibrate the phone according to their instruction. They say that it's necessary to charge 4-5 times for 8-12 hours before the phone recognizes the new capacity. Does anyone know why?

Why didn't you buy a stand with extra battery that recharges both at the same time and just carry the extra one with you? I did, 18 pounds in amazon.uk. That way there is no extra bulk, and it's much cheaper!

Yup, when the other extended battery costs less than $30 bucks, why pay much more?

Thanks. Is this the official Samsung extended battery kit? Also, does the S3 fit in this dock when used with either an Incipio or SGP Neo Hybrid case?

This is not the official one, it's Chinese. But in a emergency the extra battery does the trick. The phone won't fit with the case, you have to take it off.
