I have a slight issue when I scan tags I received from tag stands that I have made with nfc task launcher. Every time I scan a tag I get a really high pitched beeping. This is something new that I have never had happen until recently.Does anyone else have this happen?

The standard ICS beep when any NFC tag is encountered or something different?
There is the normal lower pitched beep and then a much higher pitched beep that goes on for about 5 seconds. This beep is only audible when the media volume is turned up the other lower pitched beep or ding can be heard regardless of volume.

That's odd. You don't have any sound set to play in NFCTL do you (under settings)?

As the title says, I'm getting constantly earraped by that speaker, even if it's set to the lowest.

Loved the phrase: earraped.
I know this will sound stupid, but have you tried VOL down key while in call?
this guy is hearing frequencies unknown to the human ear. lol #earman
I literally have to keep the phone 2-3cm away from my ear. And yes I've set the volume on minimal whilst on call
I tried some apps from play store and they all tell me that my in-call volume issues on lowest
I guess I have to hold my phone differently

I also have no in call volume. I assume it's a bug. I am running HD Revolution 6.1 and Franco #9
Same problem here. I don't even have to put the phone in my ear when I talk to my dad.
Also, call volume controls felt unresponsive, even in stock ROM.
does anyone else hear a background noise when using headphones? The sound is similar to tapping 2 drumsticks together repeatedly. very noticeable in max volume with no sounds. (plug in headphones, raise to max volume on home screen where there's no sound). haven't tested with other headphones and will report back after I do...
I have noticed a noise in the background... But it's more of a tv static-like sound. But my headphones are also real loud for some reason. When I plug them in I have to turn the volume way down to almost the bottom. They were designed for iPhones, which is what I used them on, but the sound quality is just so much better than the Sammy ones that came with the S3 that I still use them.

There is a constant low level distortion when playing anything through the headphone out on my AT&T S3 - if you pause the currently-playing music etc. it remains audible for a couple of seconds then stops - is this what you mean? Lower impedance and/or more revealing headphones accentuate the problem.
seems a simple reboot fixed the problem :good:
I don't know why this is, but it's frustrating beyond explanation: Every once in a while the volume of my device changes. This is not an "official" change, as I always have this thing at the lowest volume possible, but every once in a while after a reboot or just out of nowhere, that lowest volume most definitely becomes louder. I'm accustomed to a low volume, so for my notification and ringtone to suddenly be louder always startles the hell out of me.
I cannot figure out why this is, and I realize the number of things that could be causing this is dependent on what apps I have which are far too numerous to list, so I'm hoping someone else has had this problem and knows the solution.
Thank you all in advance
Cm12 has a setting in sounds and notification that gradually increases volume over time. If you're on sense there is a setting that increases the volume if the phone is in your pocket or turned face down.

Unfortunately this isn't it - I have "Pocket mode" and "Quiet ring on pickup" both unchecked (unrooted, stock). I also thought it might be somehow tied to Media volume, as the app I notice this primarily in is Google Hangouts (that's about the only sound-notification I get outside phone calls), but that's at a vol of 1 along with everything else.

I have no idea then. I had volume issue with hangouts in particular in the past but it was from the volume being to quiet. Maybe try a different ringtone for it. I'm not sure what else to suggest.
This hasn't always been the case, but maybe it cropped up after the last update.
My in call volume is really low and adjusting the volume doesn't do anything. Maxed out its low. If I go down lower, to its lowest it's still the same volume as maxed. No change in volume up or down.
This is really obnoxious, anyone else have similar problems? I tried googling around but no dice. Found some old stuff circa 2013 for the nexus 5...
EDIT: Only happens in stock dialer app on my mobile phone number. Google voice/hangouts number in call volume works correctly... So it's not a hardware issue.
Yes I have this 50% of the time when on my handsfree in the car. I can ring someone, hear the dial tone is low, hangup and immediately redial and its fine. Its driving me crazy! Changing volume between min and max makes absolutely no difference to call volume.....
Alright, I hope I'm not tripping, but I'm pretty sure alarm volume (at max) is significantly lower than ringtone volume (also at max).
I'm playing the exact same tune, when I select it as a ringtone, it blows my ears away. When I select it as an alarm it's just... softer... a lot softer. Throwing all of the sound through the bottom speaker but nothing at all through the top speaker. Sounds like a problem to me.
I definitely would like my alarm to be louder so... any suggestion?

It is. And the clowns at HTC told me it is "intended that way". Fawking douchebags. 3rd party alarm apps make no difference either.
Hmm, very strange. My alarm is loud as hell and will tear me out of bed. This is stock clock app with a mp3 as the alarm tone. Definitely loud enough on my end.

Same here my alarm is set at 1/4 volume. It is way too loud even at half volume.
This happens because during notifications, only the bottom speaker is on, at least on my AT&T unlocked version. A coworker who has t-mobile version says that both speakers are working during notifications on his phone. I think it's a bug..
