I've been using the liveview with my old X10 for a while, no problems. Upgraded to S3 and now it needs to be constantly reconnected anyone else have this problem or found a solution?
Install live charm from the market
Liveview on Galaxy S3
I also recently bought a Liveview for my Galaxy S3. It worked pretty fine actually, there is only one big issue I can't seem to resolve:
Everytime my Liveview becomes disconnected (due to me being to far away from my mobile phone) I need to confirm on my Galaxy S3 that LiveView is allowed to pair with my device. This is so tedious, I tried to fix it with all the various fixes around the net (even bought LiveViewManager) and it seemed to work at a point, but now it's just back to this annoying behaviour.
Any chance to get auto pairing to work without needing to pull out my phone everytime?
Thanks

Same here. Did anyone know an app that can auto reply for Bluetooth pin requested from liveview?
Hi, I have that issue too, it seems the S3 with 4.2.1 doesn't use the linkkeys anymore. I have MBW-150 with burnt out Display so i switched to the live view, but the mbw works fine. the linkkeys file is empty, there are none of my pairded devices in here i tried a grep -Hirn 30\:39\:26 /data/* > live.txt
there is massive stuff in /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db, but i coudn't get a clue about it.
I found it out! It reconnects without the Pin-Window!
I was wrong, it still uses the linkkeys.
so you need to go and edit the following:
/data/misc/bluetoothd/<BT-MAC>/linkkeys
if you don't know the liveview mac just look in the file:
/data/misc/bluetoothd/<BT-MAC>/names
in the linkkeys I already had:
39:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx DFBHF58FH7390FHBKLF 4 0
then i paired my nexus 7 with the s3 for inet and there i found out:
00:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx DFBHF58FH7390FHBKLF 5 0
so I changed it to:
39:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx DFBHF58FH7390FHBKLF 5 0
since then I am fine

It's not working for me, In my case I tried sharing internet with a windows pc, no autorization needed, but when I change the file with liveview's address it starts asking for confirmation again

Hey this works for me
1. Pair LiveView
2. Make Change from 04 to 05 at the end of the string.
3. Restart phone.
Then Liveview don't keep prompting for passcode every time it tries to connect.

there is no 04 in the files, there is "4 0", in the file so you can change it to "5 0"
however it works for 50% of the users

All,
I have this small issue with my HTC Desire and the Parrot CK3000 Evolution. Until now, everything works perfectly (calling, sending contacts, voice dialing, ending calls,...)
However I have one small issue. When I enter my car, and my phone is locked, the Desire will not pair with the Parrot. From the moment I activate the screen, pairing is done within a few seconds. I already tried to leave it there for half an hour, no pairing, touched the screen, pairing within a few seconds.
It looks to me like the bluetooth is not active / alive when the phone is locked (or in sleep). From the moment the pairing is done, everything works fine, also when the phone is back in lock / sleep.
Anybody has anything similar or has a solution for this? I searched the market for some kind of Bluetooth-keep-alive application, but could not really find it...
Thanks in advance,
Best regards,
Speedygerre
Small bump, nobody any idea for a solution or somekind of workaround / app?

I have a similar situation with my Audi A5 (factory BT kit).
It will connect when the phone is locked (screen off etc) but it can take anything from 1 to 10 minutes before it does connect.
Like yourself, my Desire connects immediately if the phone is not locked.
Strangely, it appears to work OK in my Mazda MX-5 which has a Kenwood DNX8220BT system (Bluetooth, SatNav, Ipod, coffee maker etc) - and the Bluetooth is a Parrot system. Having said that, I haven't used the MX-5 much since I got my Desire so it might not be a representative sample.
There is definitely something amiss though.
I have a Parrot CK 3100, and whilst I am happy to report that I do not have the same problem as you, I did have a problem syncing my contacts.
Check out this site, and download the software to udate to the latest firmware. You will need a laptop with either built in bluetooth, or a seperate bluetooth dongle.
http://www.parrot.com/uk/support/onlinehelpguides
I updated the firmware on mine, and now my contacts sync properly.
There is a good chance that updating could fix your connection problem as well.
Sorry forgot to add, that updating the kit really is a doddle, but their software is Windows 32bit ONLY and definitely no MAC!
Thans pergolesi, I hope your suggestion workshop, I will try it when I have some time one of the next days.
However I still think it has something to do with the Desire, since syncing workshop perfectly when Desire is not locked...

I don't know about the Bluetooth but I know my wifi deactivates after about 5 minutes when it's locked even though I have it set to never turn off. Maybe the Bluetooth is doing the same.
Perhaps not much help, but I sometimes play music from my Desire on my car headunit using Bluetooth streaming, and that continues to work fine when the screen goes off and the phone is locked. It also still responds to commands from the headunit (skip, pause, etc).
Once it's connected, everything works OK for me as well, it just is the connecting moment which apparently does not always work

Can I ask what year your A5 is? I've got a 2010 A3 and BT doesn't work properly with my Desire I can get it to pair, but then it will disconnect a few minutes later and the only way to reconnect seems to be to unpair/repair or switch the car off/on. When it IS working it can make calls, etc. fine - but I just can't get it to stay connected I tried my Audi dealer but they just said it's not on the Audi list and there's no update to support it, so interested to hear you got it working on your A5.

My A5 is a 2008 model with SatNav and therefore MMI High. The Desire paired straight away with no problems and both the car and the phone remember each other - it just takes awhile sometimes for one or the other to realise it and connect.
I'm pretty certain that it is the phone that has the problem as I had no such problems with several Sony Ericsson phones previously.

Thanks - interesting. I wonder how many different BT stacks Audi run - I was hoping they'd share some common code and therefore be updated quickly but it sounds like this isn't the case given that it's working fine on your A5. Thanks for the info though!
currently have the gs3 thinking of getting the note 2. on the gs3 with the stock jellybean roms there is a problem that there is bluetooth pairing request every time you pair with a device, even if you have paired with that device before. it does not just connect automatically each time you must fill the request to connect.
does this happen with note 2?
No problem here pairing with a samsung headset and also a nokia one. No repeated request filling.
But of course there are lots of other problems with bluetooth (at least for me), especially with S voice control. Let's say the bluetooth experience on this phone is not stellar... Hoping these things will get better with time
Hi,
Paired my bluetooth once and going fine since then. Never asked to pair again.
Cheers!!

i picked up the note 2 here in the US today...unfortunately it seems we have to pair bluetooth every single time. really sucks. every time i connect to my appradio2 i get i have to confirm the passkey to connect. there is no way around it that i can see and my previous phone the gs3 running cm10 never had this problem. could there possibly be someting i'm missing as to why it asks to confirm the passkey every time?

Hello sir,
I'm also having this same situation when connecting my N7100 to the car audio.
I think this is because the Bluetooth function on N7100 Jelly Bean is in invisible mode (Only visible for 2 Minutes with Default Setting).
Try to change the Visible Time Out on Bluetooth settings to "Never Time Out".
Hope this help.:silly:
Maybe a work around
Hello,
You might have the problem with "old" and "new" pairing method and these don't get on quite well. The problem is that you can't make the pairing code permanent.
You might want to try this work around and see if it works (I'm not sure but I managed to pair the ICS BT in my wifes car this way):
- Turn BT on on your phone and prepare it to send a picture or a contact by BT
- Put the device you want to pair with your Note in pairing mode (so it can be discovered by the Note)
- Now send the contact/image from the Note to the device you want to pair.
- The note will start searching for devices and you chose the device you need once the phone found your device
- Now the notification bar on the phone should prompt for the BT connection and you have the option to put in the code and check the "Do not ask anymore" option. After hitting OK your code should be permanent.
This method was found by a Master Brain called Rayer and he published it on a XPeria forum; you can hit the "Thank You" button anyway if it helps you
Since upgrading to JB (first MB2 and MB4, then MC8) i have a problem with my bluetooth connection to the car radio.
First I couple them and after that, under GB, I got an automatic connection between my Ace 2 and the car radio as soon as switching on bluetooth on my Ace 2.
Since JB there is opening a window in which I have to click on the device I want to connect to. I know, that other smart phones have that problem under JB, too, but again others do not have that problem. So I think it is phone-depending.
Funny detail: When I switch on Bluetooth at the ACE 2 and AFTERWARDS on the car radio, the two connect automatically. But the other way round it does not work - but this is exactly what I need.
Does anyone have the same problem or a solution? Does the automatic connecting work for someone with an ACE 2 under JB 4.1.2 MC8?
88 views and no anser?
I have a Sony bluetooth radio to which I connect my ace 2,mc8
today I tried the method you describe, so first radio on, then switch on bluetooth on my phone. Indeed you get the list with devices, but still my phone connected automatically.(name turns blue)
Short: it works for me!
Maybe delete and reestablish the connection?

Hi everyone, I received today my Sony smartwatch 2 and is pretty good. The only problem I have is that I can't connect it to my main phone an acer liquid e2 duo (the dual sim one).. I can successfully pair it (Sometimes, usually he gave me a pin error) with the bluetooth but then the sw fail to recognize the installed app on the smart phone,it get stuck on the animation that say you to install the Sony app.. I don't think it's a bluetooth problem it seems to be something with the app-smartphone related.
I tried with an xperia phone and everything went good no problem at all.
I really hope someone can help me and thanks in advance.

I have exactly the same behaviour with an acer liquid gallant duo. Please help my, otherwise I'll send back the watch to amazon.
Unfortunately Acer's Bluetooth stack is probably missing or poorly implementing some BT profiles required for a correctly working connection.

So there isn't a solution to the problem? Like a rooted app or something that add the correct functionality to the bt?
A possible solution might be installing another ROM, like a CyanogenMod (if available for that smartphone).

Thank you for your suggestion, I've tryed but it's still not working. Could you please let me know the exact steps that worked for you?
I have a acer e2 too, to me works, but if i power off smartwatch 2 and power on it, the acer doesn't connect. I must restart the phone and it connects.
EDIT: now i have discovered that, when i power off the smartwatch 2, i must kill the process "smartwatch2" from the phone and if i power on the smartwatch 2 it connects! ^_^
Same issue here.
SW2 and Acer Liquid E2 Duo (aka v370) do not connect.
Pairing succedes but after 1 second the connection falls and you have to pair it again and again.
Tried with bluetooth fix repair and once it worked, but it never worked again.
Has someone suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
For me all works great

bluetooth pairing error
Mine too. Could someone help me how to fix bluetooth pairing error. Really need help. Always error when pairing to others device. How to fix. Already try pkill. But didn't find file. Plizz help buddy.
The solution for acer e2 is to install androium 3.5 ROM. It is based on Acer e3 Rom that hasn't any problem!
Which phone and android version do you have?
Dear All,
I have bought this phone 1 week ago but I have problem with the bluetooth connectivity. When I would like to connect the phone to a bluetooth car device the pairing code request dialog not shows up and because of this the pairing fails. Do you have any solution for this? With Redmi Note 4 (MIUI 11.0.2.) the car works well. I tried it with other car devices but there was the same problem.
Thank you in advance!!!!:fingers-crossed:
Try going to Settings-Apps-Manage apps-Bluetooth and Clear data-Clear all data. It helped me for some time but now Bluetooth problems appear again and I have to do it every time after answering the call while listening to music via Bluetooth.

Maybe you need te change the bluetooth notification priority to high and maybe check permisions.allow it to show on home screen etc
Thank you for everyone! I found the problem! The app of my bluetooth watch caused the problem, after uninstalling it the bluetooth works again.
I face a similar problem with skoda car infotainment.
In my case pairing is successful but on the first call connection breaks. Even if connection is broken and car's infotainment starts seeking for a Bluetooth connection Redmi note 8 thinks it is still connected and it stucks there. when connection breaks a message pops up that reads something about AVRCP not supported and redmi note not responding
A have unpair both devices many times but same thing happens again and again.
I have to point that i came from a Redmi note 6 pro, where EVERYTHING regarding bluetooth connections and multiple connections were operated just fluently. I have redmi note 8 just 2 days
On redmi note 8 are always connected an amazfit stratos and a meizu ep51 handsfree and there are some other apps installed like mifit.
Do you thing that i should start first by unistalling all apps?
i unistalled amazfit app and it seemed that was getting better but i assume that phone it cannot deal with multiple bluetooth connections. Unforunately it cannot managed android auto (wired connection) and car infotaimnet (bluetooth connection). On the first call connection drops.
I flashed a custom ROM- based on China roms- but things didnt got better. Having both redmi not 6 pro (which handles all bluetooth connections just fine- even transfering active call via bluetooth headset to the car infotainment as soon as it establishes a bluetooth connection while i am getting into the car) and Redmi note 8 on developer options i copy all setting from Redmi note 6 pro to Redm note 8 but all issues are still there.
I wonder if it can be used the bluetooth app from the Redmi note 6 pro to the redmi note 8 but i dont have the knowledge to do it
I have the same problem. It sucks that redmi note 3 which i had before worked 100% ok...
All these issues make phone quite useless considering that everyone goes wirelessly. I wonder if this disappointing case is claimable from Xiaomi.
just noticed the same problem, both of my RN8pro bluetooth mac is 00:00:46:00:00:01 which is nonsense.
maybe you all got the same mac as mine, which is generic mac.
How can I check Bluetooth mac address ? Do I think there is something can be done?

MIUI 11 - Android 10 version?
The only workaround i found is to keep one connected bluetooth device at a time. So before i get into my car i have to disconnect bluetooth headphones and reconnect them after. Bluetooth management of Redmi note 8 is a big mess. I assume that is a phone's hardware problem its incapability to manage two or more bluetooth connections simultaneously.
I contacted Xiaomi customer care regarding bluetooth issues and i was finally asked to perfrom a test. I wonder how a test could resolve it
In the attached screenshot in developers options the max connected audio devices option is 2 but it's deactivated so i cannot changed it eg to 3. Could it be the solution to bluetooth connectivity issues? Is there any way to activate this option and change it?
