Lag with AOKP - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I'm on build 38 and I get a lot of lag on the lock screen about 60% of the time. The bigger issue though is that when hanging up from a call, I have to hit 'end' like 4 times for it to recognize I'm pressing it. It seems like lag....
I'm on franco milestone 4. Other than that no mods.
Anybody else?

Yea I actually was talking about it in the aokp thread it lags with scrolling although the scrolling gets better as long as you don't make the status bar transparent that's why I always end up with cyanogen mod in the end it has the most stable and worked on rom out there but you have to give some of those custom options I think the one I miss the most is the ability to change the height of the nav bar

I'm with you on cm9. Ive got a nandroid of cm9 ready and waiting. I get the same lock screen lag with it though. It does get better when I overclock and put the minimum around 1ghz. Seems odd it should have to be that high on a phone os.
I love the customization of aokp - especially the center clock. That's why I haven't restored my backup.

Really? I've run AOKP since Milestone 5 and never gotten this lag. Up to Build 38, I used Franco Milestone 3. Now using Milestone 4, and don't get any of this lag anywhere.
Usually have the CPU set from the lowest, 192 MHz to 729 MHz. Sometimes 1036 MHz, but that's only for gaming. What background apps do you have going on?

I too have Franco M4 and AOKP 38 and I'm having issues with calls...I have to hit "call" twice before I can call someone.

Did you clean flash it, or over build 37?

try the newest franco nightly? also try the different lockscreen settings/setups? im using the default one (ring with only the unlock and camera targets) and rarely lag. also try disabling lockscreen rotation.

I read in another thread about auto brightness making the lockscreen lag. So if the brightness is low and then you unlock it where the brightness is high, it lags.
So I turned auto brightness off and I have no lag now on the lockscreen.
I'm running Franco milestone 4 with my min CPU frequency at like 1ghz.
I'm still getting the lag on the dialer when I hang up.

Try franco nightly r194 or linaro franco nightly r194 im on linaro and my phone fly... It improves performance like hell

I also run AOKP B39 and I face slight lags here and there.

Maybe we should go to 38?
I'll look at the linaro kernel. Thanks.

Apex vs AOKP

Hey guys
I'm was just wondering which are the main difference between this two roms?
Thanks
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Hey i mean they're both great, and everyone has his favs but i like AOKP even more than apex because there exist even more settings to perfectly fit to your sense. Little differences do exist but nothing really groundbreaking(installed launcher, more/less updates... )
Its a hard choice but your cannot make much wrong
i went from apex to aokp and for me aokp is much better with all the customization and updates. The dev for apex is pretty busy and doesnt get a chance to update his rom as much as aokp.
I always liked Gummy for battery life but he is using the 4.0.3. Right now I'm using Axi0m and it's like AOKP but MUCH smoother.
Battery = Gummy
Smoothness = Axi0m
They all pretty much have the same features of AOKP now, which makes AOKP last on my choice list. Axi0m is a 4.0.4 hybrid, which may contribute to the speed. I use scrollable Twitter and Facebook widgets and Axi0m is the only rom that doesn't cause shutter when I give them a hard flick (top to bottom, etc). Just my opinion!
Thanks for responding guys.
I been using Apex for the last week and I had zero reboots, crashes, nada!
Running really smooth with nice tweaks and great battery life.
Time to try AOKP

[Q] CM 7.2 lag in menu

When i operate with menu with Cyanogenmod 7.2 (by Phiexz) then my menu lags. It has to be like that? It isn't smooth.
No.
Set clock speed higher if possible..
Alsouse less background apls, they eat RAM

My clock speed is 806Mhz and no background apps are running.

your using the adwlauncher that comes with CM7.2?
try rebooting to recovery and clearing cache?
The stock ADWlauncher that comes with CM is laggy. Try any other launcher like Launcher Pro
Yes, I am using the original launcher. I will try something different then.

I'm up and running. Only thing I see as an issue is of course mms doesn't work and on the pull down bar, it says roaming indicator instead of sprint. Thanks for the rom!

That's just how the Galaxy Nexus is. Raise the brightness up a little bit and it's fixed.

Works really well so far.
-Roaming indicator, as mentioned.
-Any settings made under the "display" settings menu don't persist after reboot (notification light, custom display levels, etc.)
-Runs really well with Lean Kernel
Rooting the phone now...will be flashing this momentarily!
Using apex launcher and selecting Widgets from home screen the text doesn't show.

That's a Apex issue now. The picker was changed to Holo theme like it's supposed to be.

For some reason, mms send has proven more difficult than it should be. The problem appears to span across all aosp variants at this time. It is being heavily researched as a type. Wtf is mms still in existence for anyway?! Somebody please bury mms 6 ft under. Ugh.

Gamma settings Jelly Bean

HI all,
With cm9 i always used The presetted color settings from cm9. I really like those settings, so which file do i need to edit to accomplish that ?

i would also like to know
You have to flash a kernel that supports it and use an app like Franco or Trinity Toolbox to adjust them.

Apex Launcher..laggy?

I've been using nova for a month or so. Pretty nice, but lacks in features. So i stumbled upon apex and it seemed really rich and nice, especially the previews. The only problem.. is that its really lagggy.. and it uses like 80mb ram + How can i make it not lag like in app drawer and going to previews. I have force gpu thingy in developer options enabled. I have aokp jb rom and trinity 1420mhz cpu and 537 gpu kernel
It's just sluggish in general, on stock and nova. If i rapidly scroll through the appdrawer and the widgets. No problem no lag. But with apex it struggles to load the widget icons when scrolling and lags. And it shows in normal use

Yeaaaaaah I had that as well. Just down to coding I believe. So now I switched to codenandsammy using the touchwiz port... honestly is so damn smooth its a joke. Couldn't tell you how to fix the apex lag issue.

holo launcher HD is pretty neat aswell, brings a ton of options. bases on googles original launcher2.
I've been using Nova since I got ICS and I love it. No lag and no complaints. Smooth as butter. Sometimes the CPU governor can cause some lag (like conservative or powersave). Double check to make sure that either of those aren't set.
Apex Launcher has become increasingly laggier recently. I switched over to Nova when it was on sale, and it's been so much smoother for me. Little to no lag or stuttering going through homescreens or when bringing up the app drawer.
