My goal with this ROM is to achieve that stock gingerbread look and feel. I'm one of those people that just prefers a fresh stock feel and I'm hoping quite a few of you guys are.
Much love to the guys at Cyanogenmod and everyone that helps them, please donate to them and continue to support all of their hard work.
This ROM is as close to what you get when you pick up a Nexus S as I can get it for now.
This ROM features:
Gingerbread Stock Launcher
Nexus S live wallpaper
All Nexus S/Gingerbread Ringtones & Notifications
CRT Monitor animation for display sleep
Whats not working:
Microbes Live Wallpaper (I've got the wallpaper loading, but freezing after a few times locking the phone)
Trackball Wake/Unlock (Will work on making this standard tomorrow, should be an easy fix)
BUGS:
Wifi needs Fix Permissions & reboot on most devices.
Please note you must use Clockwork Recovery 3.0 or higher

Changes phone model from Gingerbread to MyTouch 4G
Speed Increase
Phone will no longer default to "Silent" ringtone upon first boot.
Fixed USB bug when connecting to computer USB connection would crash.

Yes, as of now any gingerbread rom is going to need the newest recovery.
This ROM has the CRT animation, stock launcher as well as all ringtones found on the Nexus S.

Thank you for putting this together! I'm downloading it right now! How did you make this one? Is it just a modded CM7 or Nexus S build, or is this a real AOSP build of Gingerbread?
That's what I've been lookin for is a complete AOSP build of GingerBread for the MT4G.
What Version clockwork do we need?

Sorry guys, posted an incomplete rom, Default should be the Nexus S live wallpaper.
The ROM posted is incomplete due to lack of stock apps like google's music app & car home.

I did a full wipe and installed the new version. I still have the mountain wallpaper?
I did not download the gapps again as I don't think you changed those?

I didn't change the GAPS, are you still able to go manually change the wallpaper to Nexus S live? I'm still working on getting the microbes wallpaper fixed I have it running but then freezing after a few times locking the screen. Hopefully I'll stumble across whatever it is causing the problems with the wallpapers.

Thanks, Yes I know it can be enabled but as you said just above the Nexus S wallpaper was supposed to be default so I was just wondering why I'm not getting it?

I will for sure look at that and see if I can't port that into this rom here, I myself would also like to have that feature. The change to 14 is already implemented into this ROM

I'll be annoyed if it does as my other half wanted to skype to her friend but we had no camera other than the xoom and now I got a camera for her laptop as I couldn't convince them both to use googletalk

Yep. Major buggy. Couldn't get vid to work, mute and speaker buttons not working. Still have to sign in and out everytime otherwise it constantly runs (not a bug, I know, but a bloody big annoyance). Uninstalled to an earlier version.
i'd use gtalk if i had friends on gtalk... then again i have no friends on skype either
i'm still not big on the whole video chat to be honest anyway!
It's still got issues. Having to sign in and out all the time. Having to type password each time. Some online contacts don't show for ages. Getting missed calls without so much as a ring. But so far video was very good but as expected big drain on battery due to screen on(video) and skype seemingly running in background.
Overall I'm happier. Now where is that conversion kit to use the back camera as a front camera. What came of the OneMoreFace concept. We could do with something like that nowish.

tried it from my Desire (froyo) to an iPhone/skype.
I received the video from their end, but couldn't send out my video signal :-(
I'm on Reflex S and its no good, my video initializes but then as soon as call is answered, blank screen it just goes black, but I can still receive theirs....
Tried it today, didn't receive nor i could send my video.. Quite dissapointing, but fingers crossed they fix it soon.
Has anyone tried this on the stock 2.3. It didnt work for me.
I tried this on skype this morning managed to get it to work. Seems to look alright on the computer over Wifi. Havent tried over 3G yet. Audio quality does need improving though, but the video seemed alright, a bit slow but alright.
I can report that using InsertCoin CM7 HBOOT/STOCK 1.0.9, the new Skype version does not allow video for me.
I use instead the patched version here:

version 0.6 based on the previous version.
seems to work really fine once you set the resolution to Force 320 X 240.

i think maybe cause its is an Ace S based rom (DHD i think ?)
Yup, I have Insertcoin 1.09 using latest v06 snq kernel and it seems not working.
works for me here with plain IC 1.0.9 and using v0.6 of the skype mod (not Kernel), but need to set the camera option to "force 320x240" otherwise it will not work.

On my desire with CM7 new skype is not working properly. I can't send video.
Patched version mentioned by Biafolio is working on Cm7 Rc 7. 1 if black screen problem checked in advance settings. Thanks.

It worked for me either instead of version from the Market, but the phone unexpectedly rebooted two times. I guess it's some kind of a bug.
The most strange of all that I was not using the phone at that moment. Well I've uninstalled patched version and now I'm waiting for the next official release from the Market.

I was told by a dev that this download unsuccessful issue that some or all of have is a android issue In 4.0 + and its because of the way files are handled during the download .my question is Any1 no of or have a fix for this? Its driving me crazy!!

I never had that problem. Can you post a sample link that gives you problems? Did you try chrome or dolphin?

Not just one link its all kinds, mentioned in Franco s kernel thread and one of his testers had said it was a known android issue, went looking around and quite a few having that issue . What model GN u have? Radio? If u don't mind sharing?

Happened with dolphin browser also
Clear the app cache and retry the download. Should work.
I have encountered this as well. I am able to re-download the file, but it is annoying. I am not sure if I have had it happen yet on chrome beta.

go to manage apps, all, download manager.. now press the clear data button. now, try downloading something.
I use XWind to download, just because the stock method is terrible...

GSM version UGKK7 radio + AOKP b26 + stock kernel (for now).
I use chrome, ICS Browser+ and Dolphin and none of them have this problem.
it's weird that it happens with dolphin too since dolphin has its own download manager.
Does it happen when you are connected to a reliable Wifi network too? If not then it might be your career's data connection.

ya its not my network , i tried same files same network on my other 8 androids running ics , its somthing with the phone but , i think i found a fix testing now , waiting on a reply
It happens to me when my screen cuts off as long and my screen doesn't cut off it downloads just fine. I was on wifi when it kept doing it to me. If i go outside of my house where there is no cell service with verizon in 30 or 40 mile radius it fails but i think thats from switching from extended network to verizon so much.

Some phones with custom roms can't run at 350 min MHz , mine is one of them the UV in core CPU to low, so if my screen shuts off my data shuts off but I run at 700 and its fine, but I'm not sure if that's what you mean or if your issue but ..... my issue is with the download itself, I replace the downloader .apk's with the ones from cm9 and now I think issue is gone?? Testing this week . Thanks
Happens to me every now and then on both stock and Chrome browsers. Clearing cache is not necessary, just retry the download, may have to a few times. Sucks, but it seams to be a normal thing from the looks of this thread. Also, I use "Download ALL Files".

Try replacing download.apk and downloadUi.apk with ones from cm9 or just use cm9 it worked for me not an issue anymore . But yes exactly what I was talking about
I used to get this problem with earlier custom roms. I can't remember exactly when it stopped doing it but I now currently use CM9 with Francos kernel and haven't had any problems.
That definitely worked!

I have the same problem here. sometimes i have to download something several times. especially at francos nightlies folder i must download it at least 3 times to work. I m using chrome beta only.

Yes, Networks are shown, but can´t connect. Just reflashing it one time to make sure its not a bad flashing Prob.
Tried out every Channel and it was listet in all of them, but sometimes it dissapears and come back again.
And another big bug: You still have the CM9 bootanimation
Flashed it again without Gaaps. same Problem.
It tries to connect and than it is listed as: Saved, secured with WPA, but not connected
it shows the connecting but than again Saved, secured with WPA
and sometimes it just go to not in range, with the pad next to my FritzBox
Just opened a guest account on my Box with no security and the same.
Connecting than saved, than not in range
Just putting it right next to my box and wlan is working, but very very very slow.
20 cm away and its not running
BTW there is not SU am I right? will try the root.zip
Su is there, but not working. I am not able to update binary, so no SU for Titanium

Thanks, but wipe doesn´t helped me. tried it a dozen times, but no Luck.
Even flashed back to stock and then the Rom again, but still no luck with wifi.
Even tried TWRP Recovery, too. Nothing.
Damn I hate thinks like that
So will wait for the next nightly and going back to the latest CM9 nightly for now.
wow, great work guys....i dont know how much longer i can hold out on this. i am currently rooted but still locked. thankfully i have mostly fixed my lag issues in the browser. i want to jump on the JB wagon ASAP, but hate to loose my warranty. i would love to hear from ASUS about an official update to JB.
looks great so far though. if this becomes fully functioning before an official OTA, i WILL be flashing it.

Yep storage and mic are what I'm working on now.
As far as Google Now FCing, most cards work for me, some FC. One FC'ed because it tried to open Google Maps and couldn't, there should be a more graceful way of saying "I can't handle this card", but it just FC'ed, so try to install Google Maps/other Gapps from the Play Store and hopefully that'll fix the FCing.

I hate you...now i have to blow my warranty and get this running.....ugh
great work....i may hold out another week to do it though just to get most of the large bugs worked out. since the camera is Borked, does the gallery work? i heard some build (for other devices) that had camera issues had gallery issues as well.
HEY THIS ROM IS AMAZING.. i HAVE FEW ISSUE.
1 i have re flashed to stock.. and on my S3 I747M from Bell.. ok I flashed TWRP and Flashed Dandroid from scratch... 1. when your in MMS or messaging app and click attach Video under Capture Video for MMS when you click it it fails to open the camera it says Message Size Limit Reached only way to record videos and send em is using the camera itself now it was working on your earlier Builds.
2. Is there anyway to remove the Toggles at the Top without having stupid Gapp if u click hide and turn off all toggle it leaves a line...
3. Is there anyway to get the Camera from earlier Build the themed One.

I use go sms pro for now,but i'm really curious to see the solution....
