Samsung Galaxy S3 headset for Galaxy S2 - Galaxy S II Accessories

Hey guys,
I want to give you a quick review of the great headset from Samsung, which originally comes with the Galaxy S3 but is also compatible for the Galaxy S2. I bought mine from this link:
http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B007SXEGJI/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00
They have this white Apple look, which looks kind of better than black in my opinion. At the beginning the sound quality wasn`t so great but with my equalizer setting you can see below they sound so great that I had to start a thread and inform people about them
The bass is amazing. Really deep and satisfying. Treble is also great. Mixed together you have an amazing music experience
What makes this headset even better are the controls on the headset. You have 3 buttons. The + and - buttons are stock for making music louder and quieter. The one on the bottom let`s you pick up calls or pause/play music.
The great thing is, that you can change the functions of those 3 buttons with apps like "Headset Droid". I changed the + button to next song and the - button to previous song. It was really annoying with my old headset with one button because you had to double or triple click for next and previous song and that often didn`t worked out because of false timing etc.
So I really recommend this great Headset from Samsung because it`s very cheap and has great functionality. I bought mine for only 7, 44 Euro
You can find the great equalizer app here:

Cool, they look good. Thanks for the review mate
Edit: oops, image verification in the title.. :/

its true the headset are great
me i got em when i bought my gtab+
and btw there are some roms that have volume skip song enabled when you long pres the -+ buttons

how the sound quality compared to the s2 earbud? Is it really worth upgrading to the s3 earbud?

is it the same as the headset bundle with the galaxy note?
saw my friend using the headset on his galaxy mini...works fine

I'm sorry but what's the point of this post, all Samsung devices from S2/S2X/&S3 have TREMENDOUS earbuds but one HUGE flaw Samsung devs did was not allow the control talk to work properly with their own music player? Say your listening to music ok yes the call will come through BUT when you want to control what the earbuds do while listening to your music like stop/next song/volume up or down/& voice command, I could only do everything I wanted was by purchasing Poweramp & Headset Control so yeah

Did't heard S3 headset but for me that with S2 are good too, at least in sound space.

What a price..!! But once again, for germans only..

I bought the S3 headset from eBay a few weeks ago for around $7 Canadian. It's pretty darn good considering some of the similar replacements you find in stores go for about 2 to 4 times the price!
The only beef I had was that it didn't come with different size earbuds. But that's easily fixed by using the old ones from S2

I was using custom rubber things (the one that came with my monster earbuds) with my S2 headset and it was clearer and the bass was more punchy and sharp .
The sound in the S3 is a bit weaker (vocals, treble) but there's more deep bass. I prefer the media control function of the S3 though.

In AOKP and CM based Roms you can skip songs by pressing and holding the louder and quieter button of the device, which automatically makes the S3 Headset a great choice (at least for me) because there are buttons for louder and quieter on the headset itself, which means you can pause/play songs with the button for taking a call, switching to next/previous song by pressing and holding one of the louder/quieter buttons and you can make the music louder and quieter of course. For me this is especially great when riding a bike. You can control your music from your headset completely and no need to take your smartphone out of the pocket.

Should have thought of eBay... Gonna order now!

any colour in black?

Simply can't believe cheap original Samsung earbuds can ever outperform quality earbuds (with or w/o mic). Won't waste my money on this as I have never had original Samsung earbuds that was worth. SE on the other hand is a true gem on occasion (I still have short corded earbuds from W800 and they sounds like a dream, but nothing compared to my Creative/A-Jays/Sony/Sennheiser buds, let alone exotic stuff like HQ Denon's etc. which I do not own).
Sorry, I can't grant my trust in cheap stuff, though it's good you folk are enjoying your music with these. I believe my ears are still good and I never heard Samsung earbuds sound "right" (ever).
Ergo... each to his own, but quality can't be exceptional for 4-10 bucks, no matter what someone might think.
ps: not at OP and his choice.
pps: FLAC FTW... or at least good HQ VBR MP3 (V0 or 320VBR), no 128k stuff...

The quality is very good for the price. Don't forget it's just not headphones, it's a headset with 3 buttons... At that price how can you complain?!

I buy the same on ebay. Works fine for the price. You can use headset controls with it.

Galaxy S2 Headphones are really good, so I expect no less from the S3's. Thanks for the review... :good: :good:

I have tried both S2 and S3 headset.
S2 headset has better sound quality.
When I tried S3 headset I even thought it was not correctly pluged as it sounded like it was not stereo!
Really, it is great to have those 3 buttons but I cannot stand the sound quality. I have never had so bad sound quality before with any of earbuds I got! :crying:

May have to try these. Thanks

just wondering what you guys use.
i'm looking for in ear headphones with some sort of music control/mic. under a hundred bucks is great, I love bass.
so far i've found these two guys: Klipsch Gaming earbuds, and Klipsch s4a's. I hear the s4a's have issues with some phones though.
I should mention I use power amp

problem solved. gonna use the ones that came with our phones. bass is solid, and so far they are pretty good at blocking noise.
if i find the mic/vol controls to not be worth it, i'll just buy a pair of half decent earbuds without mic control. if the OEM samsung earbuds dont provide me with mic control that I like, I doubt any expensive off market buds will do me justice.

I use the original earbuds that came bundled with this phone and Poweramp music player and the sound quality is more than excellent for me. Nice deep bass especially when you turn up the setting on Poweramp.

If you want BOSE, they make a mobile headset that has mic and volume controls. It's called the MIE2i. Also, Beats make a pair called the iBeats. They are an in ear headset with GREAT sound. I own both and use them interchangeably. I will say though I give the MIE2i's a slight edge because the eargels are the most comfortable I've ever worn.
BOSE = Buy Other Sound Equipment
Klipsch S4A, made for android. S4i sounds good, when mine need replacing, I'll buy S4A's.

I did the same and since I don't need the Mic, I started using my Sony ear buds. If I get a call, I just pull the phone out and answer, I have to see who's calling anyways.

As far as in-ears under $100 are concerned (which Im assuming your asking for) I like the NuForce NE-700M over the Klipch s4a. Ive had them both and i feel like the highs are more crisp and it has a bit more low frequency extension.
Also if you care about bass more than clarity the AIAIAI Swirl have plenty of bump and an excellent asthetic.
I use head-direct RE-1's along with cmoybb amp there is crisp sound with great bass.

Do either of those work with Android as well as S4A? To me, that's a big selling point. My S4i's are perfectly suitable sound-wise, but the lack of control sucks.

The NuForce has one button/mic combo. One press pauses/plays, two presses skips the track. The button is honestly a little flimsy though so if button is your number one concern
As for the AIAIAI it looks like the new one has 3 buttons but i cant attest to how well it works as i had an old version of the swirl with only one. I can say that AIAIAI's whole deal is that they are really well designed as far as the tangible parts so i would assume that they took a lot of care in designing the buttons.
what earphones set for Samsung Galaxy S2 SGH-t989 has best microphone ?
hi,
I've already lost the earphones that came with my new samsung galaxy s 2 SGH-t989. 1 of the reasons I got this phone was for the vlingo voice-operability that makes it good for use while driving. Does anyone know what the best ( or at least a good) earphone set is for this phone, especially with respect to the microphone quality?
thank you in advance.
monster has a BYO headset adapter w/mic that works
picked it up or $10. bought 2-one for walking around and one for the car's Aux-in jack.
what's the OP's budget? can never go wrong with a nice pair of sennheiser cans.

What about Klipsch Image S3 Headphone? Do you think they are equally good? S3 is priced lower. My budget seems to be in that range (of Kilpsch S3)
I used Philips Tapster Bluetooth Headphones with my S2, it's perfect!!
Mine's got a Philips SHE8005. These are in-ear type with a volume slider, mic and a button which acts as either to answer/end an incoming call and a pause/forward button for your music app. The wire's also rubber-coated to give you a firm grip on it.
Looks like a good buy!!

How's the original Samsung headphones provided in the package? Good or bad?

Hey guys.
I want to know your opinion on this...
What do you think of the stereo headphones with mic that are included in the Galaxy Note package? My Galaxy Note is black, yet it came with white headphones... guess that's what everyone gets. Although, I saw original Note headphones that are BLACK on the internet... Oh well...
At first, I thought they'd be rocking, since I previously owned a Galaxy Nexus and let me tell you, the headphones that came with it were better than the pair of A4Tech MK-650 I have been using. I wasn't expecting Samsung to have taken such an ugly turn and make the headphones so bad for the Note! They did it perfectly for the Nexus, and now I think I know the reason : it was Nexus, Google thing... with standards...
Of course, when I sold my Nexus, I gave the headphones with it... Didn't think the ones for the Note will be this crappy!
1. They don't stay in my ear properly. Even tried the larger rubber "plugs", even the ones from A4Tech... It's about the headphone's construction itself : it's made not to fit perfectly over your ear...
2. Quality sucks. I can't listen to music with these. At least not drum & base .
So, how are you feeling about your headphones? Maybe I got a bad pair... or maybe that's just the way they are, crappy (I go for that one)...
Also, if just by chance you are using or have used a pair of Galaxy Nexus headphones on the Note and worked... I'd like to know . I'm ready to pay 10 extra bucks for a new pair of Galaxy Nexus headphones, just so they don't fall off from my ear when I'm talking to somebody...

I tried two pairs of Dr. Dre (not the same, one was Stereo one was Mono or something, looked pretty much alike, but were different) at a showroom a few weeks ago... They were the kind of headphones that you put over your head, and they rest on your head, you know... The big kind of headphones. Oh well...
They sounded nice... but when I activated Bass Enhancement in Music Player, they started to buzz and crack and buff and prr... lol.
So... Beats by Dr. Dre... excellent at bass... nope.avi. My A4Tech MK-610 I'm using right now are better .

It's funny. Everyone's saying that the iPhone/iPod headphones rock. I tried them... they're meh. I mean, I got used to in-ear headphones... all other headphones that are normal, not in-ear (like the iPhone ones, for example)... I feel like they're hurting my ear, lol.
The sound quality was pretty nice... although not as crisp as with the in-ears I'm using (naturally).
I'm planning to buy a pair of those headphones for my girlfriend, actually. She doesn't like in-ears. Also, those iPhone headphones have a mic, and it worked with every Android device I tried, so...
Her pair of original HTC headphones got... f***ed up. Left headphone leaks current, rofl.
In my opinion...all the headphones I got with Samsung devices SUCKED...
Extremely poor sound, uncontrolled, random bass boosts and drops... They're definitely not for the audiophile, but more for the conversationalist, who wants to clearly hear the person on the end of the line when...say...driving or walking down the street.
The ultimate sound I was able to get out of my Note was through Sennheiser CX 400 in-ear headphones, along with Power Amp (and a few tweaks there). I'm betting it's even better with something like Sennheiser IE8's, but those are pretty pricey

Impossible. Better than Sennheiser?
Oh well, I've seen Sennheiser that looked worse on the specs sheet than my A4Techs. 16 ohms impedance, and they cost 3x than the A4Tech?
Scribbled from my Note coupled with the best (CleaNote) ROM and (NoteCore) kernel by g.lewarne
My headphones broke so I was forced to jar these before I brought some more.
At first I was cringing at how poor they were, especially as the stock ROM output such poor quality sound.
I forced myself to listen to them and can confirm that they burn in an incredible amount, its like they are a different pair of earphones. The highs are tighter and the mid range has improved a lot. The bass is ok if you get a good fit, and I found if you get some good eq setting on power amp it does a world of good.
IM at the stage now whether I think I need new headphones, I listened to some burned in audio technica m50s and they didn't have the pronounced treble these have, although the bass was tighter.
I've owned shure and klipsch earphones before and although they're not as good as the shures, they're probably not far off the klipsch right now.
The added bonus of a built in Mic and controls is also really useful

Yeah, I like the bundled mic and controls these Samsung headphones have... but God, I can't make them fit in my ear, NO WAY. Plus they just sound terrible.
Never heard of Shure or Klipsch... But then again, I'm not in the mighty America, so all I ever heard of is A4Tech, Pioneer, JVC and Sony... stuff like that, you know.

I was so offended that they were white. My SGS2 stock headphones were black. I had to buy a black headphones just so no one would confuse me from having an iPhone from a far. Apple can suck my Note.
IMO, any and all stock headphones people get are an excuse by the manufacturer for throwing something in. The regular person might say otherwise (that is, if they're not serious about their audio, i'd be more than happy to agree with them) but to these tin ears, they suck a**. Whatever I get gets thrown in an old shoe box with 10-odd pieces and counting. They never get used. Ever. S4i headphones, mic, and button work on the note 2

I thought one of the hardships of switching from my iphone to the note 2 would be the incompatibility of the headphones I bought that have a built in mic and controls.
I read that the klipsch S4i headphones weren't compatible with the GS3, so I figured it would be the same with the note2.
NOPE! The center button on the headphones works to pause and play music, and the mic works for making calls, talking to Google Now, and recording voice memos. One glitch though, if I activate Google Now by long pressing the Center button, the headphone mic doesn't work. However if I activate Google Now with the search widget the mic works...
I have a Bowers & Wilkins C5 which was for my iPhone. I was sad that it's not compatible with original Note, but it works with Note 2 as what exactly you said. All controls work including mic but a little glitch with Google Now, which is not a big deal. I'm very happy because I like my C5 sound. Love Note 2!

The issue is the long press is baked to Google Now and there is nothing you can do to change that, at least until it bothers a dev enough to investigate.
There's an app called Headset Button Controller in Google Play which adds ability to quadruple-press the headset button for volume controls. What the command does is changes the volume to a preset amount (e.g. 20%) and progressively ramps up the volume to max (e.g. 100%). You can change the rate the volume increases.

Get the image S4A model instead. Same thing but designed for android. I have a pair of meelectronics M11P+'s on their way which are very highly regarded over at head-fi (as an android headset). Wouldn't call either set "audiophile" quality exactly. But they're both very solid iems if you must have a mic/remote.
I had image S4's in the past and was quite happy with the sound for the price.

I've got the S4i II (2012 model)
And the volume and mic don't work
Center button is fine though, BUT, clicks also register as input from the microphone
The center button works like it should though..
I wonder if klipsch will give me S4A II's in exchange if i complain :/

U do know there's really no difference in them but the volume controls. The android version have one button. I bought some monster isport, Mic works and they done fall out during workouts like my s4a did, perfect

Saw these Sony earbuds (I love my Sony MDR EX38 - it's really made for the iPhone but I bought it for the audio drivers and the built-in mic, pause, play and skip track by double-tapping the middle button -- built-in volume controls don't work on non-iPhone devices). Had it for a couple of years now. The item above looks promising. It says it works with Android products.
Does anyone know if the Bose MIE2i will work with the Note II? They have a center button and two separate volume control buttons.
For anyone who happens upon this thread I hope this post can save you some money and get you a better headset for your hard earned dollars than what the likes of monster/beats/bose/etc. offer. It's not that they're "bad" per se but you're usually paying $100-$500 for headphones that get destroyed by sets that cost $20-$100, all because they have their marketing/branding machines running around the clock convincing everyone they're the best.
Here's a list of headsets with android compatible controls that can be had for $30-$65
Meelectronics M11P+ --- $54.99 MSRP --- $30 - $40 on amazon
These are the ones I just grabbed for myself. Based on everything I've read, these offer the best overall sound quality in this list and they are some the most comfortable IEMS (in ear monitors) you'll ever wear. In the end, comfort was the decideing factor for me because there will be days where I have these in for 10 hours+
Meelectronics SP51P --- $69.99 MSRP --- $40 - $50 on amazon
These came a close second for me and I almost bought them. Overall sound quality is apparently very close to the M11P+ but they offer 3 interchangeable ports you can screw on to the back to change the sound. You get "Natural", "Enhanced Bass", and "Extreme Bass". Reviews are somewhat mixed but most agree that the natural port lives up to it's name and the enhanced bass port should be very pleasing to most people. The extreme bass port, on the other hand is WAYYYY over the top and delivers a sound closer to what you'd get from a pair of beats. Some people would ovbiously love this but it's not my cup of tea because it ruins the mids and highs. Still, you're essentially getting 3 pairs of IEMS for $40-$50.
Klipsch Image S4A --- $99.99 MSRP --- $65 - $80 on amazon
Ok, everyone is aware of these. This was the last set I owned and I was very happy with them. These are also extremely comfortable thanks to Klipsch's patented oval ear tips. They are the most comfortable IEMS I've ever tried and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anybody if they needed a set with some brand appeal. That being said, they are definitely over priced. Better sound can be had for less. However, as this thread demonstrates, there aren't a lot of other options available for android if you just want to walk in to a store and buy a set.
JAYS a-Jays One+ --- $59.99 MSRP --- $30 - $40 on amazon
These are a pair of bass heavy 'phones. They aren't my cup of tea but I include them for all the beats lovers out there. a-Jays > Beats according to TONS of people and they cost $30 a pair. 'Nuff said.
Do Your Research...
There are tons of other options out there. If you give a **** about quality sound and/or your wallet, I strongly encourage to head over to head-fi.org and do some research on any headphones you may be considering before you buy.

Bluetooth Headset
Hi. I find the Plantronics Backbeat 903+ a very good choice for using as headphones and for calls. I like the sound quality during calls and when playing music. I bought mine in ebay.
Hope you find this useful.
These are the best (of course they cost the most too):
http://ultimateears.logitech.com/en-us/home
http://www.jhaudio.com/collection/jha-pro-music-products
http://www.shure.com/americas/products/earphones-headphones/se-earphones
mic is sold separately as a cord extension, like this one:
http://www.shure.com/americas/products/earphones-headphones/music-mobile/m-mplus-cables
I have the SE535 (I use it as a musician and as my day-to-day earphones for music), it's the best audio I've had so far from my mobile and it's very resilient too, I spent a lot on expendable phones before (I wish I had just started off with the expensive one).

If you want just a better mic you don't have to buy the whole set, just the extension. I recommend that you join head-fi, a fantastic forum about headphones and earphones. They have LOTS of recommendations for all budgets.
It's www.head-fi.org :good:

That, which you posted this extension, this is made for iPods / iPhones
True. it's for apple products... shame. I wonder if they work with samsung mobiles too. I found these klipsch earphones "for android", it's a reputable brand and it isn't too expensive (around US$85 on ebay):

Have you joined head-fi yet? They recommend this one for mobiles:

Creative Aurvana In ear 2...
with my S2 that have Beats Drivers...
then cranking up PowerAmp's Equalizers
Hands-free
which brand is very good for Samsung galaxy S2?
I use the Atomic Floyd HiDefDrum / HiDefDrum with Remote
http://www.atomicfloyd.com/hidefdrum
I've been using them for about 2 years and love the sound, they've been good on the S2 and provide crisp clear highs and not headache inducing bass. I'd say they're about a 7/10 on bass (on levels of overwhelmingness) so its comfortable for long listening but satisfying levels of lows.
They have fabric based cords so its pretty good for avoiding tangles and relatively easy to detangle.
They do come with a 1 button answer/end and microphone however it is about 14 inches from the earpiece so letting it dangle the other end does say the phone call seems to be a bit quiet until I bring the microphone closer
Sorry guys coming from Nokia Symbian to S2 android I had a set of Monster Nokia purity in ears bargain on eBay.
Have to say they sound awesome on the S2. And work well for calls too although the volume/ answer inline button does not work with the Galaxy.
I thought there was no hope for the S2, when it came to playing my mp3's. The i300 sennheiser work excellent, not too expensive either!! Highly recommend.
