Theme extractor - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

Every now and then I surf the market like you wouldn't believe just to see what's out there.
I came across an app called ThemeX which basically allows you to select & extract icons, wallpapers, dock etc. from GO Launcher & ADW Launcher EX themes.
No more need to extract the apk within a file manager and hunt down the needed files.

Changing Icons

Hey,
I got my magic for a few days now and I'm running eclair 2.1..
I like the standard theme, but I was wondering if I could change the icons? and how?
Thx in advance
You can replace the icon by fiddling around in the ROM (/res/drawable/ folders).
You can open ROMs and APK files with WinRAR. And push them with adb, don't forget to remount first.
Or you can download an application called 'FolderOrganizer' from Market and change icons there.
other options from the Market:
ADW Launcher (free)
Desktop Visualizer (free)
BetterCut (paid)
i use bettercut its great

[Q] Epic Default Wallpapers

Does anyone have a dump of the Epic wallpapers? There's a couple of ones I'd like to use on my Evo, particularly the space shuttle launch one. Thanks.
Here is a zip with all wallpapers from the samsung epic!
EDIT: Just as a reference, usually the wallpapers are found inside the launcher, all I did was download a custom rom, extract the zip, then change the file extention of "launcher.apk" (found in /system/app) to launcher.zip. Then I unzipped the launcher and looked in the folders till i found the wallpapers. They were in the /res/drawable-hdpi folder.
Enjoy!
been trying to figure this out as well, thanks urushiol!

[Q]Why hasnt anyone changed themes in stock SE Theme manager?(2.3.4)

Sony Ericsson was wonderful enough to include a stock theme chooser in our Xperia Plays so I have wondered why are we not customizing them? I see no threads about this at all or where we can share themes for our stock manager so I wanted to start one.
The process of customizing the stock theme manager is very simple and can be done by swapping out pngs within the DefaultThemes.apk. (Simply unzip, swap pics, & rezip)The images are located in "res/drawable-hdpi" folder. These "themes" are not full themes but instead they only affect the background of the dialer, contacts, alarms, calculator, stock messaging app, stock calendar, settings, & music app, & can be used with other themes (i.e ICS).
I do not know how to change the name of the preview images in manager (i.e. Fluorite, orchid, ruby, flow, sunflower, onyx ,& willow) as of yet, but I think I need to edit xml to change this. I would like to get some feedback on this and hope someone will enjoy the customized themes I made. (I have only replaced the stock images so I did not create the wallpapers or images.)
To install this:
1. Your phone must be ROOTED and you should have Root Explorer app(or other Root browser) from market.
2. You should make a backup of your phones DefaultThemes.apk file that is found in System/app folder (but I have included it to download also if you like)
3. You need to change permissions of the file before you move it into its folder. (Picture is included to show the correct permissions)
4. Lastly replace file and reboot phone. Once rebooted you should have new themes (modified themes) in stock theme manager.
Many Screenshots are below. Again...Feedback is appreciated
There are 2 customized versions and the original SE 2.3.4 Default Themes apk. Basically 14 new themes here.

No problem. I figure there are some really good themes posted here like ICS, Galaxy s2, & someone even just did motoblur. They all put in a lot of work & they came out great.(I use ICS personally). So I thought if I made custom themes for the manager it makes them look even better imo. If you have some images that you want to add or suggestions let me know & ill see what I can do.

Where can I find the icons

Hi,
i have installed the B330 for PLK-L01. It came with new icons (imgur. com/453jDMn - I am not allowed to post outside link, co please erase the space before .com), which i really like. Unfortunately I dont know where to find these icons for if i want to change the theme. For example the icons changed after I installed deodexed yoda rom. So now I cant change the theme if i want to keep these icons
Is it possible to download this iconpack somewhere?
I use apex launcher and i didnt download any specific theme or iconpack. These icons were simply there after i installed B330. I think that they were there even before installing apex, so it shouldnt have any connection to this launcher.
Thanks in advance.
I think they are not the default icons, you should check it again by installing Apex, so that we can confirm.
Other than that the background boxed icons file is situated at /system/themes/.
Hope this helps you.
