What is the best camera app an on what roms to use ? - G2 and Desire Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi guys. Someone correct me - best camera app is that Amaze right ? or what?
It only works on sense 3.5 roms?
Also what's with versions. I think I've seen version v7 and v8.
Can someone provide me with correct information on what camera to use and on what roms to get BEST image quality ?
Or maybe just use default sense 3.5 camera like on energy rom ?

amaze cam v8 is the best. works on sense 3.5 and no other i believe. its better then stock camera app because it doesnt have compression.
edit: the rcmix and unity v8 v9 v10 kernels have camera flash lag issue. so if you want to use the camera flash properly, use unity v6 or v7 kernel.

SBC Kernel for Virus ROM Sense 3.0?

Was wondering if there was a kernel available with SBC to run on Virus ROM (Kingdom Revolution) HTC sense 3.0? Or can I just grab a Net Kernel and use that.
Yes, grab a net kernel, breaks the camera though
Flashing a different kernel is on good for battery but only if youtube and the camera isnt a big loss for u
yeah you can get the camera back by using his stock kernal....
wonder if the stock #15 kernel would work` and not break the camera...

[Q] Flashing new Kernel on my current costum ROM

Hello!
I am a bit of a starter about flashing ROMs and stuff so i want to ask you guys the following..
I learned alot about ROMs and their costum kernels but nevertheless, i havent heared anything anywhere on this forum about flashing another kernel on a different ROM.
What i mean is, is it possible to use RCMix3D 1.6v KINGDOM ROM and flash another kernel to it..like this one? Could there be any problem afterwards? Wifi not working, or any other bugs?
I thank you for your answers in advance!
Hi,
you got answer in question.
yes it's possible and yes you can have trouble like nomore wifi.
But it can also improve (really really really) speed and battery life...
There is no really problem to flash a other kernel with differents rom.
JUST to a NANDROID BACKUP and try!
Yes sometimes kernals and roms don't play nice with each other. So make sure to do a.nandroid.
The kernal you linked to is for aosp roms, so its not compatible with sense based roms. You can try leedroids newest kernal
No hay de queso no mas de papa
There are only a few roms that play nice with Capy's Rom, It is using (by default) an earlier version of M deejay's Rom (not the latest v1.0 unity kernel)
But other kernels such as Buzz OC/UV, even LeeDroid's
I personally use v23 of m deejay's Kernel
These are confirmed working. I dont know about others.
Well, thank you guys for those answers

So actualy i've made a little "research" and is it possible that RCMix3D KINGDOM v1.6 is now using the newest MDJ Kernel? As it is written in my SetCPU application, the current Kernel that i am using is "Linux version 2.6.35.13-MDJ V23 .. and so on.."(and i did not change it) so the numbers match those from Unity V2 Kernel from MDJ.
Edit:
If i correct myself, RCMix3D K. v1.6 is using v23 MDJ Kernel and not Unity v2
I just flashed Unity v2 on RCMix3D and its perfect

[Q] htc sense camera

im running on runnymede 2.5.1 and i was wondering if i could replace the sense camera app with a newer version? because even though the rom is sense 3.5, the camera is the same as in a sense 2.0 rom...isn't the 3.5 camera implemented in runnymede rom or why does it stay the same? (for sure i did full wipe before installing rom)
If you update your ROM to 3.0.5 you should get the camera? The updated 3.5 sense one.

[Q] MIUI Rom

I am using Acronium 7.1 GB Rom, I like MIUI Rom, but main problems which I face on MIUI are
1. Music Quality (Bass Effect) is better on Stock Based Roms
2. Auto Screen Brightness is better on Stock Based Roms (Stock based ROMs have better brightness even in sunlight)
Can anyone suggest me good MIUI ROM which has good 2Way Call Recording??
Right now I am using Doom's Kernal and Custom Call Recording software which works flowlessly on Stock Based Roms.

[Q] Question about 2.3 ROMS

Hello, I am searching for a ROM 2.3 DHD without sense, I found cyanogen but the videocamera in 720p is broken, there is any ROM 2.3 without sense that works all functions? or there are any posibility of replace the cam of 2.3 cyanogen for sense cam? is there apk or something like that? (I'm noob, ok)
Thanks.
Look for a MIUI GB ROM. I'm not sure about the camera resolution but it's fine working. Try on miui.us or take a in the rom list thread,
The video camera on CM 7.2 works perfectly in 720p. How are you saying its broken?

MIUI roms are great!
I've used 2 roms from different devs and both of them are fully functional.
1) MrGarak rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=970196
2) a user rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1196670
The last one is a little newer but both of them are great.
You could also flash miui.us or miuiandroid roms as they are great as well.

I know you said 2.3 but the ICS and Jellybean (and even jb 4.2 only missing bluetooth) roms are very stable, i did think at first that gingerbread was what HTC gave us, so I should use that, but the ICS roms are rock solid, most with NO ISSUES!!
I would at least get ICS. Jelly bean also smoothens the whole android experience, although Jelly bean battery life seems not as good as ICS or GB.
If you are sure about Gingerbread, Leedroid and cyanogenmod are both excellent roms with no issues (to my knowledge).
