[Q] 3G Network unattaching - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All, I am on 2.3.4 sotck rom (Sony ARC) and everytime my phone comes back from idle state, it seems that it unattaches itself from the carrier network. It shows the Warning icon dissapering in the next 2 seconds after the lock screen is shown upon pressing the power button.
Can anyone help me? thanks

I have the same issue, but not always... And when i go to battery stats, it like if the phone has stopped reaching the signal fot some time... So the warning signal does not appear when u unlock, it is already there beacuse the signal dropped off...
Its not properly a bug, but it seems like sometimes the phone lock disables the signal...

Why screen is turning on every few minutes?

I have my Experia set to go in standby mode after a minute so the screen goes blank. But I noticed that every few minutes (around every 5-10 minutes) the phone is still in standby mode but the screen lights up for a few seconds. I think that because of this also baterry runs out sooner. Can anyone give me any suggestion hov to set or too repair this problem so that the screen woudn't go on in standby mode without any reaso.
you can do a hard reset
These kind of things happen at many phones when you have Cell Broadcasts or Area Info enabled.
It's under Start menu, Settings (control panel, whatever) Personal tab, Phone, More tab, Broadcast channels (Enabled).
I'm not using English rom so the names could be different than the ones I used, but you get the idea of where you should look, right?
i guess the thing with windows mobile when the Cell Broadcasts or Area Info enabled it always turn the phone screen on whenever the phone receive new or updated cell info
so i advice u to disable this service plus turning ur phone on 3g or Hspad Mood will solive the problem but whenever the 3g service its not avilable the phone will go to gprs mood that means the phone will receive cell info again ,so just turn Cell Broadcasts off and the problem shell be over

Update your Xperia's firmware on Sony Ericsson's website. This should fix it.

Notification light flashing rapidly during 2G phone call

Hey everyone,
I have noticed that on my nexus the notification light flashes rapidly during a 2G phone call. I Only noticed it because I was sat in the dark.
It only happens when the phone is placed to your ear and the screen goes off.
Here's the flashing in action: http://youtu.be/o8gaPfA8FCY
You can see it start flashing at 0:15 when the call connects.
- The phone had no notifications at the time
- I was connected to an Edge network (O2 UK)
- I have 4.0.1 build ITL41F
Because i can replicate it over and over on a 2G call, I'm guessing it's a similar to the volume bug before that was patched the other week.
Not a massive issue but would suggest there's something not quite right with 2G on this phone.
Really interested to hear your thoughts.
Thanks
Rob
Mine blinks only once every time I put the phone next to my ear and the screen turns off. This happens on 2G and 3G.

Strange Problem

This started happening today. When I turn my screen off my signal status disappears and when I turn the screen on it comes back.
The signal bars stay but the 4G LTE icon disappears with screen off and reappears with screen turned on.
Baffling ?
How do you see anything with the screen turned off anyway?
I'm not understanding the problem here....
Because for a split second before the screen goes off and can see the 4G LTE icon disappear and when I turn the screen on it doesn't come back for 1 or 2 seconds. And I do not receive any messages or updates from apps while screen is off. It's like something is turning off my data when I turn the screen off.
Found out the problem it was a battery saving app that I didn't realize I had on my phone still. Thanks for the replies.

Wifi turns off when in sleep mode

I need help from you guys, I have a D855 and it was working fine until one day i when i turned the screen off and turned it back on a while after i didn't see the wifi icon on the status bar for a second, then it appeared, i knew that the wifi was turned off, i tried to turn the screen off and send myself some messages on messenger and viber but i didn't get them until i turned the screan on again, same goes for all notifications that need wifi.....sometimes it stays on for 5 min, sometimes longer, but it will eventually turn off randomly.
i have the wifi setting to keep it always on when screen is off (in advanced wifi settings) , i have tried every possible solution i found online but not luck, I've flashed kdz file and restored the phone, I've flashed other roms and other kernels but no luck...
i don't know how to solve this, if anybody can help i would really appreciate it.

NFC icon on Notification bar is blinking and I can't turn it off

I recently did a factory reset to my M8 because it was acting up. After the factory reset, the NFC icon on my notification bar came on. It's not on as a solid icon; it blinks, and I can't turn it off in settings because it's grayed out. I tried forcing it off through "apps" in settings and even though I did turn it off through there the N keeps on flashing. As a final resort I rooted my phone hoping to get rid of the blinking "N". I rooted and the blinking "N" did not go away. I installed viper one rom and the "N" did not go away. The N blinks for several hours to a day or two after I restart the phone or if I have been on airplane mode and turn back on my cellular plan. When the N blinks my battery goes down fast.
Has anyone had come across this issue before? IS there something I can do? Based on what I've done I feel that this is a phone issue, not a rom issue... maybe hardware?
Just to clarify, before the factory reset I had never used the NFC function and had never had the icon on my notification bar. I'm on Marshmallow and on a Canadian network.
Same problem here
My phone is doing the same thing, it started right after a FDR. Now battery drains fast, random crashes and overheating as well.
same here, i m on indian network.
