No sound in video recording - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hi,
I just came from a concert and like every fan, I made a lot of videos through my GNex.
But in one of the best performances, for some weird reason, there is no sound. At first I thought it might be because of the size of the video (second biggest). But there is another one (biggest) with a higher size and it has sound without any issues.
Also all the videos before and after it have sound, just except THAT one. Man am I confused beyond measure.
Does anyone else has this issue? Is there a way to get the sound back on that video? I really want to get it working.
Thanks in advance for your help.
G.

Hmmm... transfer it to your computer, and see if you can play it there? Idk what media player you use for your computer, but I recommend VLC Media Player, plays everything I throw at it, perfectly. Come back with results.

Actually I found that out on my PC once I had transferred all the videos. And with more digging, I found another video (from the concert) that didn't have sound. So its two from the pack. But it only happened in last night's videos, never happened before.
And I did use VLC to play 'em.
I've read some threads in Google about people complaining for this issue, but they see it more consistently than I do. If it indeed is a mic issue (faulty mic stops working in GNex) then I'm screwed. Didn't expect that to happen on a Google flagship.
But if you guys do have any suggestions to fix it I would be glad to hear 'em. (or find the sound file hidden somewhere in the crevices of android directory structure)
Also if this issue persists, could someone guide me to a Video recording app which shows you your mic equalizer (or spectrum) so that you know when the mic is recording and when its not. So that for videos where you don't see any movement on the mic spectrum you can restart and start taping again instead of losing that magical moment for all eternity... no thanks to you Google!

"Sorry, the player does not support this type of audio fffuuuuuuuu!"

Oh, I've searched for a solution far and wide but none work have worked so far.
I like to rip audio from YouTube videos using Tubemate. This is especially awesome considering that Rebecca Black's Friday is the perfect ringtone to interrupt meetings with. Anyway, Tubemate warns that not all MP3s will work. It has been hit or miss so far. Just updated to unrooted GB, but the issue has popped up even before that.
The issue at hand is that for the past day, every attempt to rip a MP3 has ended with that message popping up.
"Sorry," really? Google, are you really sorry?
I've tried everything. I've retagged using multiple apps, opened with Winamp and Music, restarted after pulling the battery, and unmounted/mounted my SD. I've even cleared the caches and data. I still get that damn error and that taunting "Yea, our bad," message.
Is there anything I'm missing? Thanks for your help ahead of time!
XDA App - EVO - 2.3 unrooted. Help!
There's a reason it's not supported, the audio file you made probably isnt the right codec. I'm not positive about that ripping app, but the one I use only rips the audio that was in the original file. So if the audio from the original file was a 2 channel ac3 file, thats what you get. You would only get an mp3 file if the original video used mp3 for its audio.

music playback issues

I love the phone (got it launch day) puts my Mytouch 3G to shame. I love everything about this phone....... well except for one thing.
I am having a hell of a time with audio playback. 60% of the time i try to play back music on stock music player it tells me that the audio format is not supported on this device. using Winamp wasnt much of a help as it will just cycle through songs and freeze up.
resetting the phone helps sometimes but not everytime.
I also tried removing all the music from my phone and re-copying all the files. still an issue.
I've also noticed it acts up a lot more via bluetooth (i have a pair of rocketdog behind the ear headphones)
I'm stumped...
Any ideas? Anyone else getting this issue?
codec, song encoding comes to mind
also try with different amount of songs
i know on the old SGS if you had more than few hundreds of mp3 or mix format songs in it, it can drive it crazy
so try a couple hundreds, then work your way up, until you find the amount of files it can read before it becomes too much.
all this can be fixed once rooted, and installing better media players
winamp for android sucks by the way
you should try the ICE cream leaked media player from stock android, it's better
Curious why not just stream the music from ur pc?? google music is practically flawless
Seen a user in another thread had to format their card in this phone, then add music. Try that.

I tried this last night. didn't help much. I'm 99.98% sure it has something to do with my bluetooth headphones. Going to buy a new pair and see if it makes a difference...

If you get the sony ericsson mw600, you'll be amazed at their features. I love them and use them all the time and the battery lasts longer than the specs say. I can get 14hrs out of them.
Just picked up a new set of headphones.... does the exact same thing.... odd.... wondering if its just my phone or if this is a glitch...haven't seen anyone else report this.
Pandora and google music work great with my motorola s10-hd headset...

I'll be getting my phone tues. I use sony dr-bt22 bluetooth headphones.... will report back.
I have this problem when steaming music over A2DP through stock Music app or Google Music. All 320kbps fixed rate MP3s. I've tried via my integrated car audio, computer, headphones... all same result when playing local media. Streaming via Rdio works completely fine. Playing local media without A2DP also works fine... Logcat reports some kind of permission related problem...
Weird, I play FLAC or 320s all day long on this thing and no "Format Unsupported" has come up on regular headset/aux cable or BT. I have however, had a problem with the music stopping when I get a notification..the time continues to move but no sound.
Just an update, my stereo BT headphones work fine

Super fast audio on videos

Hi guys,
So I just got my GN a couple days ago and I've been LOVING it... but I just encountered a huge issue with video recording and I cant seem to find another thread that discusses this problem. I went to a Young the Giant show a few nights ago and recorded a few of their songs but when I went to watch them tonight, the video was normal, but the audio was sped up exactly 2x its normal speed. Once the audio finished, the video continues on the phone, but on the PC the windows media player errors out and closes the video. I have 6 videos which all do the same exact thing.
Has anyone else had this issue? I would really like to know if I just got a bad phone...
No, definitely i haven't seen anything like that by now. Seems like an issue with codecs.

I thought the same thing... but this is on the stock ICS rom. It is rooted, though.
Nope, no overclocking has been done. I simply rooted the phone, keeping the stock rom in place. Any suggestions for a third party video recorder?
Wow... thanks so much for the tip Acererak, it was the volume boost app! I was using Volume+ because the phone's max volume is just so low. I guess I'll have to find another method. Thanks!

Crackling or shattered sounds on the speakers for the 10.5 T805

I've been experiencing this for a while now, every now and then when I'd watch movies on my tablet using the stock video player or even others such as MX Player and VLC, a crackling sound comes off that it sounds muzzled and blurry at the same time and the only thing to resolve it is to pause the movie or video then resume It right away then it's gone. The issue is it comes back time to time but rarely happens on YouTube as I recall, now I'm not sure if this is a hardware issue with the speakers, I'm not rooted and haven't modified anything at all, I've had this tablet for 2 months. Anyone else experiencing this issue? I wouldn't want to trade this is for a brand new device but if I really need to I would. Was just thinking if there was a work around for this without rooting the device.

Can you record the sound? Might be the app and the video itself if everything is fine on youtube. For my device I use allstar video player and its all fine. Could be an app issue with the video maybe? I havent tryed those video player apps but stock is fine for me also.
Not sure, thanks for the reply though. I could try recording it. Maybe it's just my speakers, cause I usually use the stock video player for my movies and that's where it happens.

[Q] Crackling/Popping sound coming from my galaxy tab pro's speaker.HELP!

So i bought my wife a tablet for school. However we keep hearing this crackling sound/popping sound coming from the speaker when playing youtube videos, playing games such as jungle heat. It is really annoying because when we are watching videos we can hear the sound. If anyone could help us, I really appreciate it. This is the 3rd time we exchange this device but the result is still the same. I dont know if its just me. Thank You!
Can you post some music or a movie from youtube where you ARE sure you hear a lot of crackling? Just so we can check it out ourselves?
I have yet to experience this at all. It is weird if you have had that issue on 3 devices now. Do you have bass boosts or equalizer on?

Give me a youtube movie or clip of music. Not your recording mate. Just something original that makes it pop. A name of a song or a video. Doesn't matter. Do the people you talk about have the same tablet as you? Or random?

ok no problem
If it is a hardware issue then Samsung should repair it if it is within the year warranty. Best buy should cover it if it is pretty new as well.
Are you running stock System? Have you checked to make sure you are up to date? Install Kies3 on your computer and see if it finds any updates.

I don't hear any popping or crackling sounds from my tab pro 8.4 I have tested with its internal Speakers, The Headphone jack, and using a bluetooth headset / headphones.
Does it have this problem when you plugin headphones or is it only the speakers? if it does it on all audio outputs then its most likely some kind of interference happening first try the headphone jack which is analog like the speakers.., bluetooth is digital with a2dp so it probably won't happen on that (though this could also be a temporary solution to use bluetooth external speaker or headphones)-
If it is interference then you need to find the source and hope it is coming from your own house , best way to find interference is to either unplug everything you can find or go to the house circuit breaker box and switch off the main switch this will turn off all electric in your house then use the tablet and play back a video /audio you have saved to the internal memory and see if it still happens.
Many people have this problem (including me). Any time the app you are using has something that emits sounds (even if you have muted your sound), you can hear crackling based on how heavy the CPU is working. It is most likely interference coming from the CPU. Not much anyone can do about it, except for Samsung. It would probably need a rework of the components though, that's why a simple replacement of the speakers will most likely not work. As soon as you put something in your 3.5mm jack though, the crackling should stop. (Most likely because the speakers get turned off physically instead of just being digitally muted) So really, the best we can hope for is we can find someone who may be able to create an app that emulates the headphone jack being used whenever the sound is muted. At least the crackling stops when the sound is muted then.
