Hi,
I just got my HOX today. It is a SH24 and I'm expecting it to have a HW problem. So I connected it to the power before I turned on. It didnt show any LED indication. Then after a while LED started flashing RED. Then the LED kept on (no flashing) in RED. Phone turns on and everythng seem sfine so far. And I see batter chargin in the display. But the LED is continuously turned on in RED. I understand it should be orange.
Should I be concerned?
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you.

Mine is a reddish/orange while charging, depends on the angle at which i look at it. Never had any problems. As far as I know thats normal lol.
Out of curiosity, why are you expecting a HW problem?

Nice to hear that it couldnt be a problem.
Well this version is known to have problems and it is made in China. I have read in many threads that Chinese made has more problems than the Taiwan made.
I just have a 2 week window to RMA so I'm expecting the worst but hoping for the best.
Cheers.

Hey guys, I just purchased an HTC One X, got back home and plugged it on the charger but no light came on. I tried to use the USB cable to charge it on my laptop and even tried my Nokia N86's charger but nothing worked, no light came on. I then decided to leave it on the charger. About 5-10 minutes later a red blinking light appeared, I didn't like the fact that it was blinking and decided to Google it, some people said that it's a battery problem and some others said that it just means that the phone is low on battery. I checked my phone again and noticed that the red light stopped flashing. Should I be worried that this is the start of a worse problem or is it to be expected? I was scared to buy this phone at first due to the problems I was reading online and this red flashing light thing isn't much of a warm welcoming :crying:

Now that the flashing has stopped, is there just a constant red light?
If there is a constant red light now, no need to be worried.
The battery was obviously very low, and as it is a newly bought phone this seems to be the more logical cause.
If there is no red light any more I would take it back for replacement.

It's charging just fine now, the red light isn't blinking. So you're saying that I shouldn't be worried? Thank God, this incident made me think that I've made a wrong phone selection again. Thank you!

Yeah this sounds like a definite low battery. They can get to a point where there so low, they havent even got the energy to realise they are being charged, and therefor will not charge.
As I said, as its a new phone I'd say 99.999999% it is a battery that was left to get to low, which the seller should have kept an eye on. But it has obviously sorted itself out. So leave it to charge for an hour or 2 and your away !

hi, when I connect charger or the USB nothing happens, only the LED that turns red and after a while the screen turns gray. Upon opening it I saw that the "roles" whites, indicating that cellular was wet, are red. some may be told that the screen, I particularly think that the battery is faulty. Who can help me I am very grateful.

I don't now, is not my phone, is a friend, I think so but he would not tell.
Well I have had my note 2 for almost a year now, never an issue. The last couple weeks it has been locking up on me. I had to reset it via taking the battery out. This morning it locked up and it will not turn back on. Charging it also shows no LED lights at all (tried different charger and battery). I have a dongle, tried it.. no go. Also of course tried Volume up/down home combo...no go. Running stock rom/rooted. Any help or ideas would of course be appreciated!
Slight update: While pressing the power button, the red led light blinks quickly, but still no go...

They 'seem' to be ok...Best I can tell anyway.
First of all you need to power up your N2 and for this you need some equipments to check the battery connectors and the mainboard status if there is any short circuits etc...I recommend you to visit an service for this.

I imagine that would be the best course of action. Like I said, I did try another working battery (wifes N2), no go. Mine does work in hers. Has to be the phone hardware I think...
Also take the charger with you too. I burned out mainboard of iPhone5s with a charger because of it's connectors.
Unfortunately I have no service center close. With this international phone I may be SOL...
Sds?

Hello guys,
Wondering if you know what this issue could be. Basically, I had not used my xperia play for a few years and I wanted to try a few emulators on it now, so I tried to start it up and it worked twice, I could see the Sony logo and then it went onto a white screen (this is why I changed it on the 1st place and I think it'll need a Flex cable).
The problem is that after those 2 times, the mobile was vibrating when I tried to turn it on but nothing on the screen at all (not even the previous Sony logo I saw). I managed to plug the charger, get a static red light, which then turned orange and after like 10h that I checked again it was green.
I trid to start it up again, but still nothing. What's happening now is that as soon as I disconnected the charger when it was with the green light, when I connect the charger again it has a blinking red light that doesn't disappear (I've left it charging for hours but same light still there).
I tried to connect it to the computer, but I get a message of USB device not recognized, tried to udpate drivers for Xperia Play or someone mentioned some Zeus drivers, but still the computer cannot see it.
I was wondering if it'd be worth buying a new battery as well to see if this fixes the problem? What do you think? As mentioned, before the problem, I just saw it booting up correctly a couple of times and I didn't do anything afterwards...
Cheers
I could be wrong, but if the phone wasn't used for a few years, I would suspect your battery is part of the problem. I remember that I had an orange light and the phone wouldn't boot for me either when my battery was bad. I bought Hyperion batteries and the phone has worked great since.
As far as the phone not being recognized... I'm not sure. I would probably try uninstalling all Sony related drivers, then reboot the computer and reinstall them. Maybe see if you can get Flashtool to recognize the phone in Flashmode or FastBoot as well.
Do you think the computer should recognized the phone (xperia play in this case) even with a battery problem? for example, if the phone is switched off and the battery removed? (or does it need to be turned on?)
The phone definitely needs to be turned on to be recognized... either booted up normally or on fastboot mode, Flashmode, etc.... I can't remember if it will work in Flashmode or fastboot without the battery inserted... but I'm thinking it won't. I'm at work, but if I get some time to try it out tonight, I will report back.
If you could have a quick look at some point (no rush), out of curiosity, to see what happens if you try to connect it to the PC without the battery? I was thinking that it might be recognizable (as there's power coming in from the USB cable), however in my case I keep on getting the red blinking light when I plug it to the PC without the battery as well and I get the message saying that the device has not been recognized.
I've ordered a new battery anyway to see how it goes. I will learn something from the experience whether it finally ends up working or not...
Cheers!

Ok. I did some testing and you definitely need to have the battery inserted for fastboot mode or Flashmode to work. There is no response from the phone or the computer when only plugged in with the usb cable (and no battery) while holding back button or search button.
If your battery is bad (like we suspect after not using the phone for a few years)....then hopefully you'll be able to get into Flashmode/FastBoot again once you get your new battery.
As far as the screen turning white... it sounds like you're probably correct with thinking something could be wrong with your slider /flex cable.... but that's hard to know for sure. When my friend's flex cable was bad, it started out with lines through the screen and eventually had a strange textured grey/white appearance when the cable finally went completely out.
Just quick update for future reference in case someone faces a similar problem.
The red blinking light when trying to charge the mobile with an old battery was caused by the battery being faulty after a long period without use. I ordered a new one and as soon as I plugged it in to the charger, the light became orange (rather than red) and a little while later green.
Even with the battery charged, I had the problem that I couldn't see anything at all on the screen. The mobile vibrated when being switched on but then just a black screen. It turned out to be the 'flex cable'. It was totally knackered. Replaced with a new one and all working as well now.
Cheers!!

Cool man. Glad to hear you fixed your phone.
hi,
i just recently got a note 4 and i'm loving it. but just noticing that the red charging light does not come on every time i charge. actually, i'm trying to find some rhyme or reason on when it decides to light up and when it doesn't.
i've gathered so far that the light is supposed to come on when the screen is off. that's the only "behavior" cue that i'm aware of. are there any others?
and to be clear, the phone is charging. there's no problem with that. the battery level increases and i get the lightning bolt symbol and the "charging" displayed at the bottom of the screen when i turn the screen on.
but the red light lights up sometimes. sometimes not.
just now, i plugged it in and it decided to light up. but then a blue pulse turned on briefly and now nothing is lit up.
not a critical thing and i'm pretty sure this is what the phone's supposed to do. i just want to understand what exactly it's doing.
thanks.
haha,
figured it out myself. so the red light goes out when you get ANOTHER indicator light. like the blue light i got that deactivated the red one.
so if you clear your notifications, the red light comes back on and stays on... until you get another notification.
got it.
hehe, thanks for helping me think that through.

I do that all the time. I get stuck and can't come up with a solution, so post here. Then I figure it out even though no one has actually helped me. Lol
