All the smart people out "dev's" Please no one who has never built a ROM 'with all do respect". Do you think HTC ONE camera app will be able to be ported? Or is there a camera barrier that would not even be able to snap 20 photos in 30 seconds or shoot pics while recording? I know the US version HTC ONE has a separate processor, so just curious?
No offense, but this question has already been asked and answered. The answer is a definite no, with the reason being the disparate hardware, as you have surmised.

well, coming from the Rezound, the nexus camera has been...quite unimpressive to say the least. comparison shots here:
http://imgur.com/a/r6EOP
the nexus camera seems less focused, less sharp and overall just more blurry. this camera really is just quite bad, IMO, compared to the rest of the phones that came out at teh time (even the motorolas, eww lol) so i'm wondering, what apps are you guys using?
i've been running JB since i got it, and although i love the cool features of the JB camera and the quick shutter speed, i feel the quality of the camera/pictures/videos is not where it should be. therefore, are there any mods to the camera that maybe make it less compressed? (we had a rezound mod that did that, and pics would go from 1.5 mb to 3.5-4 mb, and we made the audio codec encode at a higher bitrate on the videos, along with a higher video bitrate as well)
basically just looking to see what i can do to somewhat make this camera atleast equal or close to my rezound! thanks!
Subscribing. I've been unimpressed with the camera as well and have heard about different camera apps making a difference.
+1 Rezound

I don't use/want/need any of those.
Also excuse the brashness but who are you to be all high and mighty about what apps are essential. Ego big enough to put you username in the title.
Thanks but no thanks.

Haha.... but I have no big ego... I'm just participating in the xda-community....by posting this thread.... these apps I thought were very useful... since I find my self using them all the time!... and though I'd share my top 5 with my fellow N7 owners.... you don't have to use any of them if you don't too... as everyone has their own opinion and is different...

Nice video. Thanks for the suggestions. The only one that makes me scratch my head is the rotation one. Why not just recommend an alternative launcher such as Nova that gives you rotation capability plus a whole lot more?

Sorry let me be more specific. While googling good apps to download for the Nexus 7 most lists are these and popular android apps that everyone already knows about.. I was hoping to see an extended list with some more apps that may not be on everyone's radar.

I'm looking for the best document scanning app for our Galaxy Nexus phones
I'm currently using CamScanner, but I'd like to see some other options that are focused on documents. OCR, clearer document creation, etc

I've also been looking for a good scanner app but havent really found or tried any that really satisfied me here is a search from play store, unfortunately doesn't seem to be a large offering of scanner apps
https://play.google.com/store/search?q=scanner+pdf&c=apps
I haven't really tried it, but give it a try

The original poster said he is already using that....
I've tried Handy Scanner and CamScanner and I think they are both decent apps but CamScanner is a little better in my opinion.
Only one I found that still has all the good features, no watermarks and is free is ScanToPDF Free. Definitely worth checking out.
Can Scanner here. Not the best app but does what I need.
Camscanner.
good day.

The camera pic are nicely sharp and awesome looking.
I see the Panaroma feature but do not see the 360 feature (that is available on the Nexus 4 JB camera). Is that hidden somewhere on this S4?
that feature is a nexus 4 exclusive.

I saw online videos where there was a 360 camera mood, maybe on international version only?

This is a standard 4.2.2 feature, as I have had it on my Nexus 7 and Galaxy Nexus. Samsung decided to leave this out.

Ok. So maybe if someone can extract that camera apk from N4, 7, or 10 as camera2 so we can run it also on our phone whenever we want to to take 360 while camera apk is remain samsung stock. I wonder if that will work.
Samsung left it out for a reason, they made their own version of the 360 pic it's called orb and it's coming to the s4 later on.
