hi i just rooted my verizon galaxy nexus i have android version 4.0.4 im not sure what roms to use do they have to be compadable with 4.0.4 like the gummy or the the other roms i just dont know what to use i know how to flash ans all thats stuff can any one help me with my first rom please
Well. Most of the big roms out there are built off of Android 4.0.4 (Gummy, AOKP, CM, etc). But some like Android Revolution HD aren't. You can switch between Android-version based roms on a whim though, so just pick any you like!

Is there a Stock 2.3.x Android Rom for the Samsung Galaxy S2.
I'm not talking about the stock Samsung on that it comes with but just plan Gingerbread.
Thank you
Edit: I have searched around and came up with nothing. I don't even know if it a completely stock Android rom existed.
CyanogenMod 7 Roms are great stock gingerbread.
look for CM7 roms. they are as close to stock android as you can get for our phone. and personally i would trust a CM rom before one from the factory. as it comes with tons of wonderful extras that make the rom run smoother and give more capabilities. do a little reading about the CM7 rom for our phones the thread will have all the information you need.
I saw the Cyanogen mods and they look close to stock but didn't know if there where.
Thank you.
If anyone else knows of any other roms close to stock please speak up
Edit: I was on Cyanogenmod site and I didn't see a "T-mobile Samsung Galaxy S2". Just a "Samsung Galaxy S2", Will this also work even though it doesn't say T-mobile?
Hi there.
I have rooted my Japanese Nexus but never taken the plunge and flashed a rom.
I'm keen to try out Jellybean but I have a few questions;
1) Should I flash the stock rom or a customised one?
2) Which version do I use with my phone?

1) It depends upon what kind of ROM or features you are looking for. It does not matter whether you flash stock or custom one as long as you are getting the features that you need.
2) All versions compatible with GSM Galaxy Nexus will work with your phone. So you can use any version you like.
I am personally using ARHD 6.0.0 which is based on the latest JB 4.1.1

I'm not looking for anything special, just a little extra speed in games and better battery life. Even a little would be nice.
If there is 100 threads about this I'm sorry I swear I searched.
Is there any STOCK pretty much JellyBean ROMS for the Verizion Nexus? I have the GSM Version so I only really know mine but I told my friend I would put JellyBean on his Verizon Nexus and just figured I could put Android Revolution HD on it and be done but the LTE Verzion Version of this ROM seems to still be ICS despite being labeled 4.1.1. Is there any ROMS like this that are Stock based or just all ASOP/CM. And if not which ASOP/CM mod has the closest STOCK look...?
Look around.
There is no pure stock version but very close custom ROMs.
BTW, Android Revolution is a 4.0.4 ROM and says it in the description, the version number of the ROM itself is 4.1.1 ironically.

I am interested in getting my father a new phone for Christmas and as he is more tied to Google for a lot of things (gmail, drive, etc) I think and Android phone would be a much better choice over the iPhone ecosystem. As he is already on Verizon, is it worth it to try and get him a Galaxy Nexus, root it, and put a custom ROM (as close to 4.2 stock as possible) or try and make the switch to a carrier that can use an unlocked Galaxy Nexus?
My goal is to get him a pure Android experience on Verizon (no custom ROM, no bloatware) just like I have with my Galaxy Nexus on T-mobile. It would be much easier for me to help when they have the same ROM and version. Plus, I feel the pure Android experience is just better than all the other custom interfaces and modifications of Android.
If you want to install the Stock current OTA (4.1.1) - Download Toro from the Factory Images page
If you want something more recent like 4.2.1 , I recommend MMuzzy's AOSP JOP40D build , what I'm running with no issues
I have a rooted n5110 4.2.2 note 8.0
first of all I'm not a noob. However I have been spoiled. Up till nowi have had Motorola decices that have great apps like rom manager and team black hat leaks to help you decide what roms to flash.
I'm at a loss when it comes to all the options in this forum. I see some roms based on 4.2.2; 4.3 and isn't CM 11.0 based on 4.4? If I flash a 4.3 rom and dont like it cani flash a 4.2 rom or restore a backup to get 4.2.2 back? That was a big no no wirh moto devices. Once you upgraded you had to stay less you got a hold of the spf file.
Ive looked into both PAC rom and CM rom: the stable and nightly versions of both. I know nightlies may be unstable so I would stay away from them less it is easy to flash back to a 4.2.2 stable release. And downloaded the right gapps package. Why cant developers just included that in the roms?
So a bit of help please. What are the differences between the 4.2.2; 4.3 and is CM 11 based on 4.0?
I also use twrp as a recovery but have used cwm in the past. I habe both onmy sdcard in case of trouble.
any help or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
Come on....anybody?
