Fix your hardware....if the volume rocker gets stuck you will have problems even to revert to stock...do it now and get it fixed.

My DHD is not under warranty and HTC support is so bad in UAE, if I take it to repair it will take at least 3 weeks took a sensation for a screen replacement, it took them 1 mounth after a week the screen is dead again I took it back now it's there for almost 2 mounts
I really don't to send them my DHD
Can't I just diable the dock mode?
Thanks for your input guys.

Same problem, is there no definite solution apart from send it in?

[Q] Silent mode isn't silent on CM7

Okay so I noticed a few days ago that the silent mode wasn't working on my G2 when my phone rang despite it being in that mode. The icon was in the status bar, and I couldn't figure out how to make it actually become silent. It had worked before, but I'm not sure exactly when it stopped working. So yesterday, to try to eliminate any problems, I wiped user data, and pretty much everything and flashed a fresh install of CM 7.0.3. I tried putting the phone into silent mode through settings, through the lockscreen slider, and ultimately by trying to just use the volume rocker. It was then that I noticed that on the volume prompt that the silent mode icon was showing but there was still a bit of the volume percentage left in the bar. I really can't figure out what to do now, suggestions?
Reflash rom or try another

I'm having the same issue on MyTouch 3G Slide. It was working normally for the few months that I flashed this ROM... but for me it started after I replaced the Flex Cable the other day.
Playing with the "Sound" and "CyanogenMod Settings > Sound" settings does not do anything. The only way to really get silence is to manually slide the volume bar in the "Sound" settings to empty. Some things still have sound though such as my camera focus/shutter - before I was able to take a photo silently but not there's the ridiculously loud camera noise.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Okay so after flashing Virtuous, MIUI, and CM7.1 RC1, my problem still persisted. I was finally about to give up, so I just flashed a backup I had from about two weeks ago. When I restarted the phone, the volume settings were just fine, and back to a normal state. I must've flashed something recently that messed it up
@Hvargas
I'm not really that experienced with these kind of hardware problems, sorry bud

[Q] phone freezes when idleing

I have I really annoying problem, when I use sense roms (only sense, not AOSP) my phone freezes almost instantly when going to sleep.
This results in the phone not ringing when people call me, and first receiving texts after i reboot the phone.
And the only way to reboot it, is to remove the battery.
If anyone knows what is causing this, please let me know how to fix it, this problem have made me miss many really important calls.
Thanks in advance
i had the same problem with official 2.2 sense rom (don't know with 2.3, i switched yesterday) , but only when i was on a place with bad network.. In big town like Paris no problem, but when i moved to smallest town with bad network i experienced same freeze...
When you hit a button only the button backlight turn on?

Did you use setcpu?
Usually it happen when you use setcpu and you make screen off profile 128 mhz.

Not anymore, because I had the same idea that that could be the problem, but it still freezes
Thanks for the reply
Today it has frozen 4 times.
And every time with massive battery drains, about 15% in a short period of time.

Phone switching off problem in call.

Hi, I'm having a problem with my Desire, whenever I am phoning someone or recieving a call the phone screen stops working and shuts off, plus none of the buttons work. I have to remove the battery or get the other person to end the call in order to get it working again. The speaker still works though. Any things I should do before I restore. Oh and I am rooted running the latest Acesmod Rom.

So you cannot turn on screen by just pressing power button? Turns the screen immediately off when you receive / make call or only when you hold near it your ear?
All the buttons are unresponsive. And no I'm not holding it up against my ear. Thanks for trying to help though.

Nevermind I've fixed it. I found a post that said to try blowing between the screen and ear piece. And to my suprise it started working again.

Sorry to bring this old thread up again, but I believe I have a similar problem and don't find a solution: sometimes my desire freezes or crashes, I'm not sure, but I can't wake it up from standby and there's no reaction to the buttons either.
I know from my girlfriend that she tried to call me in that state and to her it seems that I'm not picking up, which is why I think that only the screen freezes.
Also when it is not in standby and I get a call, the screen sometimes freezes and I can't get any reaction of it.
In both cases, only removing the battery helps.
I've encountered this problems in 2 custom roms, at first Reflex S 2.1.7 and now Redux2. Here are some specs:
Rom: Redux2-31.08-TEST
Android: 2.3.5 rooted
Recovery: Amon Ra, have to look up the version...
Radio: 32.56.00.32H_5.17.05.23
Kernel: 2.6.35.13-stable [email protected] #1
Screen should be SLCD, but how can I check to be sure?
Stock partition layout, S-On, PVT4, I did not change the h-boot...
sd card: 16gb sandisk: 1 gb ext3 for app2sd+ and dalvik cache, rest fat
To flash redux i wiped data, cache and dalvik cache
Does someone know how I can fix this? Or how I can find out if an app is causing the problem? Or if blowing between screen and earpiece really should solve the problem, why this occurs?
I really love my Desire now that I have som much more space than on stock Froyo, but if it's so unreliable for calling I will have to revert back...

For Redux:
ondemand, 245-998, did not change that since flashing. Freezes happened with both lower cpu when screen off (screenstate scaling) turned on and off.
Don't know for Reflex, if it was even possible to change anything I never did, so it was the standard...

Maybe a chunk of dirt/filth gets stuck in the groove there and tricks the proximity sensor into thinking the phone is always close to something so it turns off the screen as it's meant to.
As for the issues you're having, I have a PVT-4 Desire as well and I've often found that I get odd little issues with otherwise solid ROMs that most folks dont seem to suffer from. I usually wind up doing a complete wipe/format and reinstall the ROM to ensure nothing has been left over from an older or other ROM that's causing issues and that normally fixes most my problems.

Well, I don't think the problem is related to that, because a friend of mine has the same problems, and has no PVT4 Desire...
could a slow SD Card or an app cause the problem?

auto enabling loudspeakers when receiving or calling

Im on cm7 ..after I factory reset everything is fine till I reboot ..once I reboot and try making or receive a call the loudspeaker is enabled automatically ...how to deactivate this?
I've tried formatting almost everything possible and I've even reflashed cm7many times...currently I'm on day latest cm7
Try a stock ROM and see if you have the same issue.
If you do, it must be a hardware issue. This happens if the micro usb port is unclean and it thinks it is connected to a dock. I had this problem once on sense. Cleaned the port and it started working again.
Remember that you can damage the port easily so be careful. Look up some guides on how to do it.
Take this as a DISCLAIMER.

Guys this is not a prblm its a feature of HTC phones wen ever u pick the call it enables loud speaker right its bcoz of sensor u activated.this happen with me too. go to settings>sound>incoming calls untick this options
1.quiet ring on pickup
2.pocket mode
3.flip for speakers
But this things all working oly stock not in Cm7.anyway u check for this in Cm7
See the screen shot
Hope I helped
Sent from my HTC Wildfire S using Tapatalk 2
That is not entirely correct.
What the HTC features do are:
1. Quiet ring on pickup - Silences the ringing as soon as the phone is picked up
2. Pocket Mode - Louder ringtone while in a bag/pocket (When the ambient light sensors is not picking up much light)
3. Flip For Speaker - Turns on speaker phone when the phone is upside down on a flat surface.
None of these will switch on the speaker on start except the car mode.
Flip for speaker does it..Tht option make the loud speaker on wen every time u receives a call

If it does, you may have the same problem as the OP. Could you please try disabling that option and trying it once?

No now the prblm has been solved!! For me aft I disabled Tht option

Who knew! You're using the stock ROM or a custom sense ROM? In my case, it wasn't that. I remember having tried everything else!!
But that flip for speaker is probably the biggest thing I miss on non-sense ROMs. I found a similar app which switches on the speaker when away from your ear after a time period but that's not as effective and cause havoc sometimes.
I'm using a custom sense ROM

i tried different rom and tried cleaning but still no use
take your USB cable and stab your USB port many times. Some dust may have collected there so the phone thinks it is connected to a car dock and goes into car mode

Install es file explorer from play, once installed enable the root persmissions inside settings of es exlplorer.
Once you have access to root - go to system - then look for 'laputa' delete them there are about 3 or so of these laputa files.
And done. :good:
Hmm
try flashing an earlier version, if that doesnt work i have no idea. good luck :fingers-crossed:
I have same problem but I clean my usb port now tis problem solved

HOX Vibration problem

What's up guys, i'm new here . Three days ago, HTC sent back my phone after a checkup for a vibration problem. They said that they did a software update (false, it was already 1.29.401.11) and sensors calibration. Yesterday, the phone stopped vibrating again. What should i do now? I think that is a software problem (stock rom, never rooted). I'm sorry for bad english . Thanks

Don't think you can do anything much other than give it back and ask for a replacement as it's the second time this has happened... Also, try doing a factory restore and see if it works.

I dit it, but this should be the third time that i send it to assistance. The first one was for a g sensor problem, resolved with a replacement of motherboard, but when i sent it the vibration worked perfectly, i suspect that they broken my phone.

mine keeps vibrating every 30 min or so
i cant figure out what's causing it any suggestions what it would be ?
not a incoming email vibration notification , not a wi-fi drop out vibration notification.

They actually scammed you by saying they updated it(when it was updated already like you say) You should go back, yell at them and take out some frustration if you wish =P
Don't root your phone to install another rom, try fixing it as is on stock rom.
I would try these:
1)Factory Reset
2)Update to latest FW
3)HTC Diagnostics Test (Has a vibration test)
4)Haptic Feedback On(To see if it vibrates on typing and tapping and such)
5)Phone Ringing with vibration
If any of the above work, then its definitely a software problem.
If they don't, either way you have to go back to HTC. Try getting a replacement. Say you're tired of coming back again and again to get your phone fixed, "Give me a replacement or My Money back"
I read another post a few weeks back where the user was experiencing these mechanical sounds on haptic feedback(I also have that problem) but his vibration stopped altogether. He got his HOX replaced.
Anyways Good Luck.

I don't recommend hijacking the thread, create your own thread
Sorry I'm probably stepping on his thread too, but please point in any directtion before I have an inoperable phone and a hard time getting HTC to cover.
However, I an issue that will f-up this phone I'm afraid. I have on a daily basis what I would describe as an alarm of some sorts (can't duplicate) that runs about 15 seconds once to twice daily at full vibration. Not rooted and have reset 3 times.
If you've ever run a battery drain program with full vibration on. Not good for the phone. I'm at a loss in this one, really dreading tech support or my local store. Will run the HTC diags but any other ideas greatly appreciated
No receipt, no box and I traded for it on Craig'slist 2weeks ago..

My friend had the same problem with a HOX - it wouldn't vibrate at all. He tried doing a factory reset and playing with settings, but nothing worked, so he sent it back and got a replacement. I'm not sure you can do anything about it since it's likely a hardware problem.
