Do you also not have the option to wake with the trackball anymore?
Don't know why, but no its not in the new version. Same question was asked in their forums and still didn't get a real answer. I think they're going to put it back in eventually.
I bet if they put their source code out we would have trackball wake.

If they put out source their whole sms system would be forked across all roms in a matter of hours.
MIUI's toast notification of sms with reply is the only reason i really enjoy MIUI.

That's the wonder of open source though. If google didn't make Android open source we wouldn't have MIUI, therefore imo MIUI source should also be open source.

They're shopping MIUI to the big name phone manufactures, seems the most likely to buy it is Motorola, so it doesn't make much sense for them to out their source code.
I really enjoy MIUI just too buggy for me.. I've been running it since I had my og Droid and it sure has come a long way, still needs some work for sure.

I think the last few updates have been not steps, but leaps backwards. Each release has another new bug that just drives me up the wall, and its never fixed.
1. notification bar in lock screen constantly has date
2. carrier logo is permanently in notification bar when unlocked/no notifications
3. can't send sms to recipients with "-" in number/camera FC with flash
those are the last 3 most recent releases.

multiple people confirmed it on miui.us, and i confirmed it on my buddys phone with the same 1.5.6.1
With #2, the carrier name is ALWAYS in the notification bar (unless there are active notifications) I used changecarriername to change it to something else, but either way it annoys me.

for #3 ye i also get it when i try to enter them to sms it doesn't show their name.. i have to go into contacts and click their contact info and press send sms.

#3 camera FC with flash...
You have to wait for it to focus then snap the pic! if you dont wait youll get the FC.

Must be a dark theme only thing, except that I thought this problem arose on 1.4.30 which is what I'm running right now.

It doesn't actually turn off, I've noticed this too, what it does do, is turn the screen off, but not the backlight. So it's still wasting battery, and it bugs me cause I'm OCD about things like this! It's been bugging me for quite some time!
but is this due to aokp rom ?

What device are you using exactly?
Have you tried testing the proximity sensor when using Stock ROM on your phone?
Also - have you made sure that inside Viber's settings the proximity sensor option is turned on?

Using the Galaxy Nexus on stock ICS the screen turns off but the navigation buttons still are lighted up and that wastes a lot of battery

Are you sure you couldn't find the proximity sensor option inside Viber's settings?
It should be inside More-->Settings
If you still can't find it, please contact our support team through this direct link: http://bit.ly/ukGVJ0, and they'll guide you through a solution (or log the error, and make sure it's fix in future versions).
On Razr I, intel cpu based phone, there is no proximity settings in latest viber app. And ofcurse screen doesnt turn off on call :/

Viber keeps the screen on during calls both on my stock s2 and stock nexus, and there is no proximity option in the settings menu.

If it happens on Skype I can test it. What's app and viber haven't got any issues I will see what is happening hopefully by next release

I fixed skype and i havent had a chance to test line i only know 1 person with it and just need to find the right time to test.

Similar problem for me. Sometimes while receiving incoming calls phone app gets stuck. The only option left out is to reboot my phone by holding power + volume up keys.
Any help is appreciated

Please dwell on this. Not sure what you're referring to.
If you referring to Hangouts Dialer, its working.
Using the Google Voice app. You get the "Call not sent" error.

I think the issue is that the Dialer/Telecom isn't giving the Google Voice process enough time to prepare the call routing or something. If you select "Ask every time" in the Google Voice app routing settings, and wait a couple seconds after the pop-up, it works.

The most important thing that your rom must have is NO problem with notifications like stok or 3rd party mail apps,viber,facebbok & messanger, instagram and when im saying NO problem i mean that you will test it with screen of (for about 30minutes without interaption to be sure the phone is sleeping in doze mode) and recieve a mail to see if the divice wakes up alove and see in lockscreen the notification.

Notifications seem to be a different case for everyone. For starters I don't believe it is caused by doze, but by Huaweis implementation since disabling doze does nothing or did nothing for me. Don't experience any notification issues on this one.

I have installed Truecaller in the 5t. It is not showing names etc. of unknown numbers when I receive a call, but it shows them after I end a call. I have tried playing with the settings of Truecaller but can't seem to find anything. Any help?

I've used Hiya, since it came bundled on my Axon 7. I installed it on my OP5T and it seems to work fine. No ads, either.

Active Users: If you compare Truecaller with Hiya in terms of users, then former one has a huge user base then the later one.
No one in my area is on Hiya so it is not useful for me. Any other help for Truecaller?

Thank you for replying. But my friend who's having Oreo in his 5t can see the names of unknown numbers by Truecaller. But in my case I can only see them after the call has been ended.

Try uninstall and install again and make sure you not optimise true caller from battery optimisations. Also when you run the setup of the app allow it to ignore the optimisations.
True caller will work but would be a little slow to detect as per my testing on Oreo beta

Works fine for me on the beta, just a bit slow sometimes .. I guess you have to want for a trucaller update

Don't optimise battery consumption solved my problem
Solution
Goto Settings->Apps->Special Access->Draw over other Apps->Truecaller->Permit drawing over other apps
If this doesn't help:
Goto Sttings->Apps->Special Access->Notification Access->Truecaller->Turn it On
It should work now
