Hello, I need help as soon as possible.
Today I was running with my HTC Desire listening to music and also using app MapMyRun. After all, I checked my phone, pressed power button and it restarted and entered to safe mode. I turned off safe mode, and then, when I was pressing power button to lock my screen it locks, but when I want to unlock it, then phone restarts (in safe mode it worked.). Moreover, volume down, menu and search buttons seems to be not working. I have done factory data reset.
Thanks.

Hi. Currently in cwm. Just did a full wipe, and all of a sudden, my power button no longer makes selections in pwm
If I press the power button, the screen turns off. Pressing it again turns it back on. The volume up and down buttons are still able to navigate the menus, and the 4 buttons on the bottom of the phone all do the same as the power button: they turn the screen off when pressed, and turn it on when pressed again.
What can I do? Don't want to remove the battery as I don't have a rom installed
I have full wiped and flashed new roms hundreds of times. This is the first time this has happened
Many thanks
EDIT: Problem solved.
Just fixed the problem. Turns out I had disabled the back button. Disaster averted
This application blocks the ringer mode to avoid changing the mode when the phone is locked (screen on)
this is a workaround for the following strange behavior / bug on stock android 4.2+:
Note: my phone uses a pattern to unlock screen.
- Steps to reproduce the problem.
1.Lock the phone, and light the screen with power button.
2.Long press power button until the power off menu appears.
3.Press the power button to close the screen.
- What happened.
4.After that, every time the screen is lighted (but not unlocked), press the volume keys can change the volume though no music is playing at all.
The volume keys keep working each time I turn on the screen without unlocking, and it is back to normal when I unlock the phone use the unlock pattern and lock again.
- What you think the correct behavior should be.
The volume keys should not work at all when the phone is showing lock screen, it has accidentally muted my phone and led to missed calls. This is worse than power off menu it self. Since power off menu only appears with long press, but when ever the menu appears once, the volume keys work every time until I re-lock the phone.
And also I don't think the power off menu should appear by long pressing during locking state, since it is quite possible that the power button can be long pressed even in my pocket during taking the phone in or out.
P.S. When the phone is rebooted and went into lock screen the first time, the volume keys will work on lock screen without the necessity of showing the power-off menu.

Took my phone out of my jacket pocket earlier since I thought I could hear a weird buzzing noise every ~8seconds. Looked at my phone and can see it's stuck in a boot loop. I can't hold the power button to turn it off it gets as far as the HTC screen and then goes black. I've tried to get into recovery mode (just holding down the volume - button). It does work to get in there but I only have ~8 seconds before it goes black and reboots again, doesn't seem to be able to pic any of the different options in there though (with - or +)
This phone is stock O2 (EIRE) never been touched not even rooted. Anyone have seen these issues with HTC One X? :crying:
Is there any recommendations that I can do? (key combo) Hoping that when the battery dies it'll go away... doesn't feel to stable though!
I have an idea ...... turn it in for warranty right away
anything to try first?
Hi,
Try this:
Hold power button together with volume down simultaneously till the phone reboots. Still holding both buttons you should go to service menu. Then choose bootloader with using volume key down/up and when the bootloader is selected press once power button. You should go to bootloader menu, from which you select power off and press power menu.
Your phone should be power off.
Then try to press again power and volume down buttons till you gonna gain in service menu. From there you should find and select factory reset and press power button once.
Your phone should be resented and then just reboot.
If everything is correct your phone will be with everything reserved and also your data and settings will be gone, but at least will work. Then you should set again your settings and preferences.
Hope this could help to get your mobile working again.

Thanks dude, that almost worked... got a bit further after factory reset... went to the O2 splash logo and then back to beginning... actually tried it again before hitting reply, wanted to make sure that I actually had time to hit the factory reset before the phone rebooted (8seconds, less actually seems to be 2-3 seconds then a bit longer after...)
I've got a feeling the phone is/has overheated and resetting itself. I think it's rubbish you can't take the battery our of these!
Finally stopped rebooting, battery must be knackered. Will leave it for a while and then start a charge, think it's going into an O2 outlet Monday!
As soon as I started charging the phone booted up and back to loop...
Sorry mate ...like i said, warranty case
So I have my htc one x for a year now. Rooted and custom rom, all worked fine.
The keypresses of the power button will be simulated very fast with no actual pressure on the power button. So after some minutes off locking and waking my device I pressed volume down and power button. Now sometimes it simulates the volume down and power button.
So sometimes it shuts off the device.
So I opened the device and there appears to be nothing wrong with it. I turned my HOX on and quickly unplug the ribbon cable from the power button off. But the power button is still pressed really fast, like 2 times a second.
I can't even go into recovery to backup, restore or flash anything because it will press the power button really quick and after 10 seconds it turns itself off.
It happened before on Slimbean rom. But the problem went away after some days. Now i got MIUI and the problem is back. So I don't think it is rom related.
My solution:
Is there a way to disable hardware keys in the recovery? Then i can try to restore my official RUU nand..?
Hi guys
Got my sw3 today and set it all up and then now it's randomly turned the screen lock on and I can't unlock it!!
Question .... Can I somehow do a factory reset without unlocking it?
Or is there a default screen unlock combo that may work.
Please help!
Help
Turn it off by holding the power button for a few seconds.
then when it's off, hold the power button again until the insert USB image shows.
Then on that, press the power button twice and it'll take you to another menu.
Then on the menu you'll have 4 options. I think it's the last one that says factory reset. When you get to it press the power button twice again.
Hope that helps.
