Just a heads up if some of our devs wanna cook up a rom the official jelly bean for sprint has leaked.
Can check it out on the sprinit forums.
What happened to all our leaks? They seem to have dried up LOL

Man, its nothing to get worked up over everybody. Even if he was in the wrong (which I disagree) its not like hes posting in the dev section or spamming every section.
Considering we haven't had a leak for almost 2 weeks now theres a good chance a lot of people aren't checking everyday anymore. (The usual routes for getting the ota leaks are still not working anyway). Dont know how theirs was released yet.
I for one would not have known until someone mentioned it.
I appreciate the updates immunityx has been giving us personally.

Thread cleaned and closed
Wow. This is posted in the right place. Some of you need to learn to read for comprehension. Even more of you need to think long and hard before you post. The information has been passed along, this thread is closed.
So as of late we have been seeing a lot of fellow members saying good bye. Then New good bye threads pop up here and there and get locked.
This thread is for farewells and what not. Let's keep thread clutter to a minimum and let us know why you moved on.

No thanks I like it here even more than the GNexus forums. Going to the Note 2 soon but I won't be saying any goodbyes. It's like oh dear god I never said good bye to HTC evo forum... I better post a thread so they don't send a search party.

Uh I believe I'm the culprit for starting goodbye threads. I left the E4GT for a note 2 and thought I'd be nice to say goodbye. Boy was I wrong!
P.S. I would give this thread about 20 to 30 minutes before its locked as well. Sad to say it's a sign of the times.

If a thread is locked trust me it's all for a good reason. The moderators have experience and can tell when a thread will turn bad, thus they will lock it or simply clean it if possible.
They lock goodbye threads cuz they are nothing but clutter. No one wants to scroll thru a dozen or more goodbye threads just to get to the actual general section. This one will probably be stickied like the other official goodbye threads in the other device forums. I've moved on to the sgs3 but still pop over here to see what's going on, my wife will be getting my sgs2 at the end of the month but she's not a phone nerd lol. She's got a photon for now which will replace my og evo when the new digitizer gets here for the photon. Then next month ill be off to the note 2 waiting for the price to come down a bit and my upgrade isn't ready til Dec 1.

Well if that's the case, I think they should unlock my original thread, and make that one the sticky considering that it's the OG goodbye thread.

Actually its not, about 15 or so were locked before yours they've been locking them since forever, along with best rom threads. If you scroll down the general list/click thru the pages you'll find a bunch of locked goodbye/best rom threads. They lock them on all device forums, and have now started creating and stickying official goodbye threads so ppl can post their peace without clogging up the whole forum, if everyone created a goodbye thread there would be so many of them no one would be able to find anything between them all.

I have made this a sticky. All other goodbye threads will be closed from here on out. OP Please change title of thread to official goodbye thread.
Lets keep the goodbye short and sweet. No fighting at all and everyone be polite and civil. DO NOT argue about other phones, services, or any other garbage in here

It has nothing to do with that. My theory is just keep your mouth shut. Its a internet blog not your high graduation. Trust me if you leave a forum and your not a developer then NO BODY WILL MISS YOU. Just buy your new toy and be gone.

I got a Galaxy S II almost a year ago and have been a part of the XDA community ever since. It was my first android phone and my first smartphone. All of you guys in this section of XDA have been absolutely fantastic. All of things you guys have contributed, like roms, tweaks, apps, themes, scripts, etc that made my phone amazing. And all of the times you guys have been there to help me will always be appreciated. You guys made me love android and XDA. I've learned so much about it over the past year, and have even contributed some things to the development section with success. But it's time to move on. I've sold my phone to buy the new Nexus 4, which is amazing guys. I love it. Great upgrade and a great price. So, I will unfortunately no longer be part of this section of XDA anymore. But before I leave, I just want to say Thank You. Thank You, the XDA Community, for everything. There were times I wanted to kill all of you for complaining and staying off of topic in threads, (lol) but I still love all of you. I hope the Nexus 4 community will just as great as you guys have been. You guys will be missed. Goodbye. </3
Good luck with your new phone man
We'll see you around man, good luck. Nexus 4 board is gaining a valuable member! I imagine we're going to lose a few more, myself included. My 8X shipped today, XBox music being the deciding factor. I have plans to pick up the Nexus 4 sometime after the first of the year though.

dumb
I thought users from the i9100 forums were idiots but thus far, GNex tops it. Never before have I seen such a large collection of idiots on my life. 10.1 is available if you compile it yourself. But I doubt you're capable of completing such a task.
Edit: It appears as though someone has already made a self compiled kang of 10.1.
Try Jellybro.

And then you get threads full of discussions of people doing mental gymnastics to justify why its okay for them to ask because..
a.) they just asked if there was a timeframe, not an exact date.
b.) they asked politely.
c.) people are rude to them when they ask.
d.) they donated once, or thought about it, or their cousin did.
e.) they are noob and haven't had a chance to read.
f.) there is too much information to go through it all.
g.) they are such a huge fan that an exception should be made for them.
h.) they didn't see the last 10 threads about it.
i.) insert first thing that comes to mind here.

j.) they're ungrateful little ****s, who deserve to have their phones smashed. 99% of the people that use custom roms need to stick to stock firmware or switch to iphones. it's clearly too complicated for them, nor do they understand the work that goes into creating something from scratch. i honestly don't know how developers tolerate such nonsense.
This type of threads annoys me alright.
But what's with the "terror thing" of someone asking for a date? It seems something from a pirate curse or witchcraft.
Jesus. Too much is too much. From either side of the fence.

I wonder why people always feel the need to respond to every question out there on the web. Do you honestly believe that with billions of people online you will never find anyone's post that does not follow your specific set of rules? A little naive don't you think?
All you pro's, nerds and whiz kids out there know very well how forums work: you don't reply and the topic is out of sight within hours on a busy forum. Just accept reality or don't read at all. And yeah relax, life goes on.

I know the frustration of seeing someone complain about something know to be issues or someone thinking it's a problem with the rom when no one else has issues. Just remember we where all noobs at one time or another and remember that one person that helped you out with something vs the person that flamed you for not knowing.

I was that at one point also, when the G1 came out and JesusFreke was making roms, and people had to use ADB to obtain root and be able to flash things. I learned since then and read and read and read. The problem now a days is that most don't care to read a little, or at all. Most of the questions asked in a thread are answered, or been discussed, or don't even belong in the dev section. This is extremely aggravating to the devs, or themers, when they right up a huge OP and no one uses it, and just clutters up their dev thread with useless questions and/or nonconstructive criticism. I don't blame him for quitting or locking the thread, if people feel it's at its prime, then leave it alone and don't touch it anymore. Most of the TouchWiz roms have the best version yet to come, or they came and went a while ago. Most of the mods they incorporated are flashable on your own, anyways. Thank him and respect decisions, or use one of the other 10+ TouchWiz roms.

Jesusfreke was the pioneer of modding for Android. Without him I believe that we would not be as far with android as devs, manufacturers, or even android its self.
Look at thouchwiz its self with the toggles in the notification Window. This came from cm. We the community can end up pushing for devs with true innovation to go back underground where their work is not seen in mass people, Google, or manufacturers. Then android may end up missing what could become greatness all for petty arguments. I follow one such dev in a private forum and it's a shame he was forced to by thing like this.

I let this thread go for awhile (I was logged on when he created it) and you all have said your piece/peace, in an almost professional manner which I for one appreciate very much. But now it is time for this OT thread to be closed. I do invite you to the Official OT thread to continue this discussion, as a few have already been doing.
Thanks you for being civil about it, but the time for this thread has expired.
