the htc one v , although an amazing phone has only a 1 ghz processor speed can i overclock this device without deeestroying it?
if yes then how?
thank you
Yes, you could overclock up to 2Ghz
You could overclock processor on One V up to 2Ghz but not ot the stock kernel.
You should unlock Bootloader and Root your phone first and then you could flash kernel with overclocking support.

2GHz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
whoa!!!
but seriously, would not that COMPLETELY drain the battery in like 2 hours??
and also i dont know where to searck because i am a Noob...
I don't know about the battery, i dont use overclocking, 1Ghz is enought for me
So read related thread. I gave you links in my previous post
I can't understand a word in the Titanium kernel page... a video tut would have been so much better...
flash the boot.img via fastboot boot
fastboot flash boot boot.img
and ur ready to go
try the new version with 1.5ghz
it has no bugs
2.ghz had some
dont just say thanks hit thanks if i helped

As I said you should unlock bootloader first. This will cause to warranty void.
Have you done this?
Then you'll be able to flash the kernel.
WOW!!!
ocked using titanium 9 kernel...(build 3 the 1.5 ghz one)

My HTC ONE V is kind of slow to respond so I was wondering IF your phone responding more quickly after over clocking to 1.5Hhz?

To be realistic here
I havent heard of a One V that can do at 2GHz stable for a longer time
1.5GHz ist stable for nearly every One V as it seems
OC can of course do damage to your CPU in the worst case

Sure it will. But this is also depending on the govener you use sine
it is reponsible how fast your CPU clock will raise on load.

I thought about overclocking before I got the phone, but now that I have it I wouldn't really know what the point would be. There's really not much that could go any faster. There's nothing that takes more than a second to load. Booting may require a few seconds loading time. It's wouldn't be worth the battery drain and the risk for now. but it's good to know that I have this option for the future.

Crashed at 2.0GHz,
Retesting 1.9GHz : )!!!
1.7 is the highest I can go. But on most ROMs it gets too hot.

Sorry for my bad english!
I heard about the very overclock kernel for HTC Wildfire, which may overclock more than 1 GHz, and I need it:
I know that the CPU can overheat, but this doesn't happen with setcpu
Sorry for my bad english!
i also heard about this, i'm not too sure where it was, think it might of been on Modaco? but it was an overclock kernel in Beta with overclock in excess of 1ghz
Really? I would love to read a bit on this. Please provide a link if you have one, because I have never heard of this kernel.
my friend from 4pda.ru saw a man from xda, which have a wildfire with 1.2 ghz overclock, but my stupid friend didn't save the link
If it's stable enough to be usable for more then 5 mins I give it 30 mins before it gets too hot to hold.

Perhaps the battery wont hold it long enough to experience overheating? ;-)

for me 700 GHz or less is good for a wildfire

Lol...... true, running at 768 and I can watch my battery gauge go down at least 25% per hour now imagine running at nearly double that speed, I'd have to take the battery out of my car and get the soldering iron out!

how than i want 800 mhz of 1 ghz
I was making fun of his typo. 700 GIGAHz is impossible on a wildfire
The rule for CPU's, in normal condiction, is to increase the clock max from 20 to 30%, Wildfire have one of 528 MHz and overclocking to 1GHz is too much, need a freezer.
I am running the stock 2.2 Froyo ROM and my phone is rooted.
What kernel should I use to be able to overclock my phone. I just reverted back to the stock ROM from CM7, which was giving me all sorts fof trouble, and want to be able to overclock the phone.
Thanks in advance!
nFinity 2.6.35 its the standard one in cm7 should work on stock rom
Isn't that rumour for Wildfire S..?
Would Be cool
That would be cool if you really get Wildire processor in 1GHZ . Please if somebody know something about it, Please tell. It Would Be So COOOL!
Help me please!!!

Have a look in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1647993
Theres only a 1 in 3 chance it will work (different variations of the tegra 3) even then its not recommended.
The One X reaches it's thermal limits quite easily, this is why it is not a good idea.
Essentially the Tegra 3 is already at its limits in the One X.

Hi does anybody know of a kernal that will enable me to overclock my wildfire to about 800mhz, my wildfire runs smooth at 768 no problem. But i have seen people with wildfires overclocked more than 800mhz. Depending on what rom it may work on i would be more than happy to move to another one. I was using CM9 unofficial but got bored after a while tbh ever since it came out i had it so.... anyways it would be of great help if you could leave a link for download for the kernal(s)
I don't think they're are any atm, and the amount of people that can oc to 800mhz without a problem I think you can count on one hand.
I was like you able to run at 768 on both my wildfires but when I pushed it to 800mhz it was too much. 788mhz was fine but 800mhz and it just froze then rebooted. Also the battery drain was worse at 788 and they're really is no noticeable difference in speed.

Just a little correction: I might be wrong but our Willy has no GPU at all Everything else would be my suggestion, too, but I think OC in general should put up a warning sign - everytime - at least the lifetime of your CPU will be cut even if you try to do it responsible lol

You guys.... stop scarying the people already. Overclocking your device will not break it in any case, most likely will shorten YOUR BATTERY LIFE! But that's it! You will not fry your phone, motherboard, display or whatever. I can ramp my phone upto 2ghz and it has nothing... But 1024 mhz or 1200 is enough!
I had OCed hellboy to 2 GHz...it felt stable but the phone crashed every time i opened an app...anyways 1.2 is best works so smoothly...best for everyday use...

Difference is there. Just to be sure that your phone works at that range (and its not a rom/kernel problem) - install Perfmon from the market and open the CPU section - It will then show you in real time at what range your CPU works. And if 2.0 gh becomes laggy it is because your cpu can go that high. Some cpu's can and others can't. That's just how they work. My old HTC Hero could go upto 691 from 526 default but other HTC Heroes could go upto 740....
Yo Son, Just OC'ed my V to 1.8GHz, it flys. Kill those animation.
When I oc'ed to 2.0GHz stability test Crashed dawg. Stability test it son!
BTW: When I drop to 1.9Ghz throttling issues Nig. So bench your one V too.
now I'm at 1.8GHz it's stable and no heat issues at all.

May I ask why? Not about AnTuTu.. but Quadrant Standard is great!! Even helps in choosing a better ROM.. a little..:cyclops:
The only use I have for benchmarking apps is to compare changes in roms and kernels on your own phone. If you use the same app to benchmark, you can see the different performance gains and losses in various rom and kernel combinations. i really don't think they do any good comparing performance between different phones, but for checking on your own mods they do come in handy.

Use PERFORMANCE as the Governer after overclocking.. And disable 'Force use of GPU for 2D Drawing' in developer options.

the overclocking is based on kernals... bt 1ghz is not possible with our phone... even the max 824mhz is not recommended cuz you may get freezing and random restart problems...

The overclocking depends on custom kernels. If our phone came with a 800MHz processor out of the box, then maybe we could go to 1GHz. But not with this.
