Would be a nice feature.

I'd be happy if the toggles just wouldn't slide across the screen every time I open the notification area, always makes me miss the one I want.

Finally Lidroid made the Mod and here is a Rom with the mod added

How, without root / flash?
I use Notification Toggle: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.j4velin.notificationToggle
I think it's the best one because of its customization options and the fact that I can download stock ICS icons for it. Plus, you can add apps (free, included in app) and shortcuts ($0.99 add-on). Like I have the shortcut for my AudioManager Pro Profile list in there and an icon that runs the Lockscreen app (saves pressing the power button to shut the screen off).
I'm not rooted. The only useful thing root would give me is the ability to directly toggle GPS rather than having to go to the settings page, but considering I almost always leave GPS on, I don't really care about that.

+ 1 for that......im using too and it is awesome.....
elixir2 does this also...
I also prefer Notification Toggle over Widgetsoid. Stock icons and the ability to always have it at the top of the notification screen. My only complaint is that it's a little laggy when tapping thru the brightness settings.
I use AoKp to do this without using a app....:beer::beer::beer::beer::beer:

Thanks for the recommendations, shall have to try these, because besides themes, the notification pulldown with a plethora of settings to play with are what I miss most from MIUI builds on the HD2.

Much easier to install a custom rom than an app right? lol
Anyway, +1 for Notification Toggle. I was using Extended Controls for it but Notification Toggle is much better since it stays on top of other notifications and it also replaces the Battery Widget that I was using to display the battery % in the bar.
so have any of these been updated so that i don't have a constant icon running in my notification bar? i don't know why but that's a dealbreaker for me.
btw, i'm not rooting yet until CM9. temporary solutions without the annoying notification icon?
Thanks OP
Forgot about widgetsoid and how awesome it is. Between this and Nova launcher gestures I now have the perfect setup for my home screen because of this.
Swipe up - brings up the app drawer
Swipe down - brings down the notifications
Home button press while on the homescreen - brings up voice search
Any idea how to change the colour of the battery icon in the status bar using the Notification Toggle app? I want to change it to ics blue.

+1 on this. What's worse is they'll give the option for no icon, but then it just leave a blank spot in the notification bar.............
That's a limitation of Android, so until Google offers a better way, that's how it has to be.

[REQUEST] Stock notification bar- No scrolling

I would like to ask if any forum members have the knowledge or ability to modify the current set of toggles in the notifications bar so that they do not scroll when you first pull down the bar. It may be a minor annoyance, but the precious few seconds i waste by clicking on mobile data whilst waiting for it to scroll across to Wi-Fi is a killer

How about just change the toggles order? The scroll is actually kind of cool to me.
You can follow guide here to change the toggles order. Or you can just flash my theme, I do got one theme which is same stock look, just only change the order.
Unfortunately I don't want to just rearrange the icons and would like to stop the scrolling animation all together.
(Bump)
If you flash a 15 Toggle mod it will disable the automatic scrolling of the notification items.
If you are on a deodexed LF6, here are two options for you:
Stock look
Darker look

In on omega 6.0 based on LF2 will it still work? Or are they that specific to version ?
You know what, I find the same thing annoying. Would love to disable it as well.
I'm running a rooted stock. Don't wanna change the order, I like the look of the stock toggles, so not really interested in changing them. Just want the damned scrolling to stop!!!
Here i thought I was going to be the only one annoyed by this. Would definitely love a way to just get it to load up at the first 5 without having to animate the little scrollback
This scrolling is the first thing i noticed and it annoyed me quite a bit. Keep hitting the wrong button while trying to enable Wifi as used to the quick press on the S2.
Does anyone know of a fix for this?
If not, I think there's a gap for an app!

if you're really bothered and this is a real issue for you - Omega 7.1 does NOT scroll the toggles when pulling down the notification bar.
edit: didn't read above properly... seems this is because of the 15 toggles mod.

use the 15 toggles, then it won't scroll.
Could I use that on the stock rom?

OMG, i'm irritated by this same problem, when i pull down the notification bar just to activate/deactivate mobile data, it starts scrolling to the left. Anyone found a way to disable it without rooting

Toggle Options

I'm using KyanROM, coming from CM10 which I used from day one when it came out, great ROM, but obviously early in it's development so holding out a bit. Anyways, I got pretty used to the toggles, and cringe now that I'm stock again( yes, I know I can go to AOKP or CM9, but want to run stock for a bit ), at the toggles here, especially the "moving" every time you open notifications( what a bad design decision ). So I was wondering if anyone knows of a mod to completely remove the toggles all together? I really like Notification Toggle from the Market, but it takes up too much room and is redundant with the default toggles there.
Really hoping there is a way around this, or in the very least, maybe another toggle mod out there to get rid of the "moving on open" and choose what you want displayed.
Thanks.
+1 on this and please post anything you discover back for others. I would really like to be able to add a Tethering toggle and a Flashlight toggle to notifications toggles.
Ideally a nifty app would let you configure them how you wanted.
Haven't heard or found anything unfortunately, ah well ill be back on JB soon enough when a2dp and camera bugs are worked out

This will enable Navigation bar on Cm10 build 08/08/2012 - I created a new thread because monstaX has spotty internet / has been really sick. I'll maintain this until he feels better. Once he does, I'll give it back to him... no KANG! Just helping out.

All the framework belongs to the CM team. noobnl is the one that put cm10 together for our phone. So big thanks to him. This wouldn't be here right now. Again this is only for 08/08 build. Disregard the words in CWM lol. I am no longer supporting the 08/01 Build. Upgrade your crap man. Seriously... you're living in the past. Move on. Really... keep reading...

Q: Did CM9 ever enable Navigation Bar enabling/disabling?
I never saw it while running it on my Epic 4G.
Sent from Mr. Z's Galaxy S3.
I believe it was an AOKP thing that was ported to a few CM9 devices... But there were mods that enabled total theming of the bar that essentially rewrote the layout xml file, rewrote png files and reordered them after a reboot. This is what I'm doing manually...

Loving this! I turned off the hardware key lights in Settings->Advanced and they also stop responding so everything is now done with the nav bar just like in the gnex and the menu button shows up in apps accordingly. The back button also turns into a hide keyboard button when it is open witch also feels better. Having the recent apps button available with a single tap really helps when multi tasking and not having to press the physical home button to go home (it also stops working) feels better than having to press the button.
Good job! I hope you keep maintaining this mod as progress continues!

Yeah, nandroid every thing before you flash. This won't brick, it's not that deep, but, you'll def boot loop if you don't flash it to the proper ROM or Build specified.
I just put up another flashable in the OP as well as a screen shot for it in the 2nd post. TW buttons with a slightly different arrangement per special order by zanderman112 who is a terrific dev to this community, so giving back to him was an honor (even though I know this guy could do this crap in his sleep ). :highfive:
In case anyone wants to take any of these flashables and make their own layout or whatever, these pngs from atticus182 are all ready to go.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1413582
sometimes you have to rename things, but you'll see in the navigation_bar.xml file in systemUI.apk that conversely, code can be edited with the names of these files. (personally, it's easier to rename these pngs than it is to stare at notepad ++ and code... just saying).

[Q] Editing Power Toggles

Can anybody point me in the right direction for editing the power toggles in the notification bar? I've noticed that the galaxy S4 from T-mobile has the data toggle removed and i would like to add it back so that i completely eliminate the need to install 3rd party apps just for that toggle. If anybody knows what files i need to edit or a link to a good guide for this phone, i would greatly appreciate it, have a good day and thanks in advance for anybody helping.
PS - If i manage to get this done, i might even make a flashable zip with that addition included.
I would love to see that

I think some of the custom TW ROMs have the data toggle added back in if I'm not mistaken. So you might just be able to pull the elements form another ROM and insert them into the stock one. (Or just flash one of the custom ROMs)
Cyaogen definitely has it included so if you can,t find it pure made for the stock TW ROM you can at least get the elements you'd need from CM.
Good luck!

The other toggle you can include is the " Brightness; "
The Brightness toggle is excellent, it's not how it used to be where it was off/on/auto etc.
This one displays a slider with auto option in it.............
Really nice!

I Am trying to get rid of the original brightness slider bar beneath the toggles...........
If anyone knows a way to remove it I would appreciate it a lot.
