Haven't run into this issue specifically, but you can try updating your Superuser binary whether it says it's up to date or not.
It's under the Tools menu in the SU app.
OK there was an update. I see one option failed? Is this important? What is it?

Mounting system as read only. Fail is okay.
Hi,
Maybe not a (your) solution but sometimes Superuser really sucks ,like many I have had problems with it so I switched to Super SU,no more issues

OK I tried but that still didn't work. It still says its stopped.

Could be a Rom Manager issue, does it do it any other time? I've never used RM personally so can't confirm.
It does it when I try and backup/restore and reboot in recovery. I Aldo tried restoring and it didn't have the md5 sums matched up.

Having the same issue
I feel ya buddy, I keep having superuser stop/crash while trying to do anything but flash CWM. Really annoying.
Running ICS 4.04 on GNex (Verizon)
ROM Manager hardly (if ever) works. I'm starting to regret having bought the premium version.
I've read a few places that rom manager and cwm don't 'get along' very well, that's if you're using cwm of course

If that is true, it's a damn shame, considering clockworkmod recovery and ROM Manager are both made by the same developer. (Koushik Dutta)

It isn't exactly a problem...
And non-native app will cause this.
Superuser is granting SU access to allow the phone to reboot.
So as soon as it's granted the process is killed...causing it to throw an error.
It isn't a problem.
Problem solved

The problem was that the reboot returned Andy on his back with a red triangle in his servicehatch, no matter what I did..
Your ultimate guide (awesome guide by the way:good gave me a hint that the problem wasn't with superuser, but with my flashed cwm. I manually reflashed cwm, reflashed superuser. I dumped the su.zip file I had used and replaced it with the file in your guide. A bootloop later, all is good and up and running
Now running CM9 and ADW.
Thx alot for your awesome guide, I will recommend it for everyone looking for the basics, like me.

Yeah you should gives this a shoot as well, but my question is, what kernel are you running then? i can see this zip, external or internal.
The kernel is 2.6.35.7

Ok, I seem to have noticed a possible culprit, I've got ROM Manager Premium and have flashed a custom recovery, however, whenever I try to flash into Clockwork (from the app itself and by holding up+home+power) on my phone instead of taking me to Clockwork it takes me to Android system recovery instead. Any ideas?

Nope, you need to flash cwm recovery through Odin then flash superuser.zip to root. Maybe rom manager has the cwm. Then reboot into recovery then flash the zip but I'm not sure. I don't use rom Manager

Actually there is a way.
Here is how I did it.
Download Rom Manager FREE and Premium.
Flash clockworkmod recovery for GSII Tmobile
Download Superuser from "Download Rom" section and scrolling down to where it says "Superuser"
Install the latest Superuser, and you're done!
It's that easy.
And then to get busybox, you can search the market for busybox installer and install the latest version of it.

Hello,
Noob here. I've run into this issue with my Nandroid restores where I suddenly lose write permissions. I can still read, but if I try to write anything to the root, I get a insufficient permissions error.
Using CWM 5.0.2.6
SuperSU v.0.87
Clean Stock ICS from KIES
Odin 1.85 Flash CWM
Backup
Root w/ SuperSU v.0.87
Success.
Spend hours upon hours making it perfect V1
Backup Perfect V1
Spend hours upon hours perfecting perfection...
Which leads to imperfection(Deleted necessary System File)
Restore Perfect V1
Write access lost.
Is there a way I can regain the root somehow without a clean install?
Thank you in Advance.

Lemme explain what happened. I
backed up my ROM in ROM manager.
So I installed newest cwr touch, placed the files on the SD card like always, I booted into recovery, factory reset data/cache...etc. I went to " install from zip" it's empty. I went to back ups, nothing. Do I was stuck in recovery. Put phone into bootloader (Im drawing a blank on what it's called), installed newest TWRP, booted into recovery. It found the zip, installed it and all was good. But now I wanna go back to my previous ROM to do titanium backup. I bought a jetpack joyride perk and when I installed it on the new ROM its saying I have to buy it. Do I was gonna restore data on it. Problem is, cwr won't recognize my backups.
Thanks in advance.

I don't want to sound like a jerk when I say this... But if something is at least somewhat important to you, it would probably be a good idea to back it up on your computer or whatever. It'd better safe than sorry, plus it's really easy to backup the entire SD with:
$adb pull /sdcard /backup-folder-on-computer
^ Linux command, windows will have a different path

I avoid cmd and Linux command if possible. And it's not gone, it's just placed somewhere else. A Nandroid is all I need usually.

I have the same error message and I have no problem making nandroid backups. I always check the option bank up to external sd card. It works perfectly fine. Also flashes go just fine too. Don't worry about the error message. Not sure but I think saying no files are backed up to INTERNAL storage which is fine because you generally want them stored on your EXTERNAL sd storage anyway. If they went to internal you would loose most of your phones memory with a few backups. So don't worry. All is well. Just store your nandroid to external sd card. When its time to restore simply choose backup from EXTE R NAL sd card. So don't worry about that message. Hope this helps
