I know, there are similar topics, but I've read them and they weren't very clear to me..
Whats the best way to sim unlock Xperia Arc S?
Is there a free way you can do this? By flashing, etc..?
If not, what's the cheapest way to do this?
(Is it just to take it to mobile phones service and pay them to unlock it or...?)

As far as I know you can't unlock sim via a code it has to be done by software like setools, s1tools via test point.
these are both paid for services which will unlock the sim but also unlock the boatloader, if however when done and you don't want boatloader open you can re lock the boatloader.
There is an xda member who does this remotely for £15.00 his name is jinx13 you can search for his name via the search bar.
Benefits of using these as opposed to any others as it will still allow your to update via seus or pcc and not lose drm or track id, not that these are any big issues.
I can recommend jinx13 as he opened my arc via setools sim and boatloader using the test point method which was painless and very easy.

Can't unlock AT&T Play
Just go the AT&T play, and can't unlock the bootloader using the instructions on here nor on the official sonyericson instructions. Basically, can't get into fastboot mode at all, using search button and usb plugin as instructed.
There are two dudes on there forums that can do the bootloader unlock. I think its like $24usd. I'm gonna do mine payday (Friday). Pretty sure once you unlock the bootloader, the root should be easy. Look in the general section those dudes are in there.

I can not get into fastboot either...
I tried pressing search and menu

yes he can, he just did it for me last night. Was fast and easy, he even helped root it and answered any other questions i had.
Do i have to physically send the phone?
I am new to android (jumping off the iphone train) but i was under the impression that it wouldn't be hard to root the device myself.
I'm hoping to be quickly corrected here.

You don't have to send your phone. You install a few software needed for him to remotely do all the stuff in front of your eyes. And you open the back cover of the phone, link two points with a paper clip or something like that. A lot of people have done it and I haven't seen a single complaint (except for some people who think this is a ripoff and want it free).
The problem is that there are a few versions of "lock", carrier sim-lock, locked bootloader, not being able to use fastboot. But this method unlocks everything in a few minutes.
Jinx13 also does bootloader unlocking for like 15 bucks

I have PMed Alejandrissimo and I am hoping this phones bootloader can be unlocked. I have AT&T Xperia Play(R800At) and the bloatware is killing me(and lack of freedom). Phone is brand new & it will be a shame to have to return for Atrix. I will pay the money as long as future updates dont re-lock bootloader, sim, & take root from me & I dont have to keep paying.

I have an R800at that he unlocked yesterday. Also got root going and will remove bloat this weekend. He can certainly help you out.
will arc get the one click bootloader unlock like the x10 etc? just asking so we dont have to go to sonyericsson
to do it.

I didn't go to S.E to do it, and my phone was network locked.
how do you unlock your bootloader without using se then. my arc is world generic.
Omnius or the remote unlocking via remote usb

Only way for most Xperia's is a paid method. No you can't do it for free.
Try a site like http://unlock-bootloader.com/ you send a contact form on the website, they got back to me within 24 hours, cost is $24 USD, and they're really great in walking you through it. Basically you download a set of tools provided by them, power off your phone, and bridge a point in the back with a paper clip. (they give you pictures on how to do this) after which they remotely unlock it.
This DOES void your warranty, so make sure you're sure. I personally did it, tried a few custom ROMS and went back to stock (rooted). No disrespect to the ROM devs, but I find most too buggy for day to day use, and the Sony skin has been growing on me.

Yea its very easy to do I did mine after a week of having my play. Your in total contact with the guy on the other end via google chat and if you don't get it first try no big deal they will guide you thru 100% of the way! You really can't lose

hello guys i would appreciate some help and feedback with my problem,i just purchased a t-999 from swappa.com the thing is that it has aokp installed which i like alot but i use at&t and want to unlock my phone so i can use it with at&t ,i am going to purchase my unlock code from cellunlocker which i have done in the past with several phones my question being do i have to return to stock to unlock the phone or do i just need a stock rom ?
i have searched various threads here but have not run across my answer any help in this would be very much appreciated ,
and if any of you know a better way than an internet site to unlock this phone can you plz share thanks

well for anyone with the same question yes you can unlock your phone with aokp or any other rom with the unlock code,so it doesnt have to be a stock rom like i originally thought. hope this helps some one
If you call your tmobile and ask for the sim unlock code they will give it to you. Best way to unlock your phone and not risk voiding warranty.

Thanks for posting I had the same question. Good to know I can unlock SIM without being on stock Rom.
Btw did you end up using cellunlocker to get the code? And it worked fine?

yeah there the best cellunlocker.net i paid 25 for the code and received it withn 5 min,which i consider super fast as ive used other unlocking sites which take days to send the code.

I checked the site for instructions but found nothing and checked the download file, found the setool2g, but when trying to use the setool it said i need a smart card? I couldnt even find where i had to buy anything since everyone says its paid. Also i contacted the website days ago but still havent got an email back. Can someone inform me how to do this?

You need to contact Alejandrissmo again in the Mexico timeframe. Make sure you pay first through paypal and he will priortize you.

No. Unless you want to buy the software. And then buy the credit.
Im fine with buying the software and credits i just wanted to know if it was possible to do without needing him to do it.
Yea if you read up and learn how to do it but you will also have to buy a SEMC smart card for your pc
