Hello everybody !
I'm looking for the good-quality headset with mike and remote control (VolumeUp/Down FF/Rewind and answering button.
Are there any really good one compatible with our great HOX ?
Thank you in advance,
Best regards,
Try the urBeats that comes with the HTC sensation xe the remote works well with the one x or else try the sony smart headset (wired)

Ya they are also good but they also have only one button on the remote and do all the functions through the provided software!
I've tested today in 4 Sony's and HTC brand stores, Sony works like Ipone headphones - u can listen, but can't control, only one button active - start/stop. The same with HTC RC E190, only DrDre Monster in-ear recognized by stock player and PlayerPro - you can FF/Rewind/Start/Stop and answer a call plus better sound than others. There is no way to control sound level (volume) by DrDre monster as far as i know, i will try to resolve this by the ProPlayer settings.

I have heard that the HTC RC E190 works with the one x from the other threads and the sound quality is also good for its really cheap price !
But I personally use the urBeats that come with the sensation xe they work well and sound quality is good in my opinion !
And to control the volume I use the remote control app with the beats headset so the play/pause button can be used to control the volume..Press 5 times to decrease and 6 times to increase it !

Cool!!! Thanx, it's really works!
i have a phiaton ps 20 bluetooth headset. they are semi in-ears. you can adjust volume, fast forward or back songs and answer or decline phone calls with them. sound quality is actually pretty good. they can be pricey (in the $120+ range on amazon) but i did see them somewhere for about $70. my only complaint is no voice dialing function.
love my Jays a-Jays One+.. even though there's only 1 button, most audio players these days have options to utilize the single button with single/double/triple clicks so doesn't bother me in terms of control. and the main point, they sound great.. way better than the urBeats (or any Monster/Beats in-ear headphones for that matter) ... and are way cheaper
i have the sony mw600 bluetooth stereo headset. it links up to phone and controls music etc and also calls from it. also can just be a stand alone radio if needed. very pleased with it.
I'm using Bose ie2 (I guess) - the ones with remote control but not for iPhone...
In combination with headset button controller.... I really like it
sent from my HTC One X
I bought some NOCS NS400 - 3 buttons remote, but it's made for the iPhone: I can only use one button. I am very happy with the way they sound.
NOCS also has NS200 made for Android with a 3 buttons remote.
JP.
I'm currently using urBeats (came with my One X)....they sound pretty good and the remote buttons works perfectly...i've also got a Sony Ericsson MW600 Bluetooth headset but I haven't paired it up yet to test
For those who said that buttons don't work on their headset, I would purchase/download Headset Button Controller (or even download the trail version first). You can assign commands to the non working buttons on your headset remote...it's great for all those headsets that are designed to work on iPhone
I just bought NOCS NS200 as per the recommendation above. Got it for 40USD.
Got a pair of white NoiseHush NX80 for about £15. Awesome effect combined with the beats audio plugin on my One X. The a-Jays android app works with this. So double click skips to next track and triple click goes backwards. Click and hold increases volume and double click and hold decreases volume.
Gives an excellent performance and on the cheap.

Bought the headset and it is so good. I can't wait to break them in for 20 hours and feel its real power. Mine is with one button. I suggest you use the NOCS software in Google Play. It kicks.

I have some cheap sonys. Like $30. Play/pause works and skip. Prev and volume doesn't but no biggie. Important bases are covered.

i have the beats by dre ibeats and they work perfectly
Currently, only one button headphones work with android. Three button headphones only work with Apple devices. As i understand, this is a limitation of the Android OS, though i wonder how hard would it be for a dev to patch this functionality.
Most 3rd party players from the market (doubletwist, poweramp) have built-in controls so that you can play/pause/skip/etc via the one single button.
I am using a pair of Shure SE535 with my phone and only my center button works, the other two don't function.

S4a has only one button, though it can be assigned multiple commands using the free Klipsch Control software from the market - you can customize the button, including double-press, etc.
I haven't used the controls much yet but they work with the Galaxy Nexus, which was not the case from my old Galaxy S. the sound is quite good from these headphones.

Not true - the iBeats that come with the Rezound work perfectly. Problem is, I can't find any Monster iBeats that have the three button control, all of the ControlTalk ones I find are single button.
Anyone have a link to the iBeats as sold with the Rezound? In Google Music (only app I tested them with), play/pause and track/forward back worked as it should.

Agree, I get mine for 50% off and I love them. They are just.. well amazing.
Got a pair of Sol Republic Amps that work. Three button remote, Play/Pause (Double tap = Next, Triple = Prev), and then volume controls.
I just picked up a pair of Etymotic Hf3's from Best Buy (on clearance for $80, reg $180) and using Klipsch control. Works great! I am pretty sure three Klipsch app works with a lot of headphones.
I think there is another similar app in the market by Jay's...haven't tried that one yet.

fyi who ever tells you to buy the ibeats by Dr. Dre are not doing you a favor. The sound quality on those headphones is terrible. I bought them and returned them within an hour. My $17 Phillips ones sound better then the ibeats. They are the worst headphones I have ever tried. Also they were not defective I had them exchanged as well before I returned them. They don't get loud at all.
I highly recommend this headset. Comfortable and high quality. Works better than expected.

I'm about to pick up a pair of the S4i's (thank goodness for friends who work at Future Shop). Awesome sound, and the centre button works with the GNex (and I'm pretty sure you can customize it with the Klipsch app, or another, just like the S4a).
Bonus of the S4i is that it'll still work to use with my iPod shuffle (relax, I only use it for working out)

I just picked up a pair today from BB an hour away from my location. They were only available there. So far, loving the crispness of these, and just wondering what you did to get the volume control to work?
Btw I bought these because I went through all these headphones and these were the only ones that looked really good at a great price. And you said they worked with all the buttons. If not it's no big deal, I'll just return them and find something else. Plus the bass is really lacking, I read it in the reviews but didn't think it would be this flat
BeatsTours with control talk

Hi there,
Bought a pair of the Beats Tour earphones with Control Talk for my HTC One X today. The Play/Pause button works as it should but when I pressed the volume buttons it does nothing...
I have read a post somewhere that HTC phones (especially the One series) will work with any earphones with in-line remote control...
It seems so strange to me that the One X delivers the Beats technology but does not work with Beats earphones...
Is it a pair of genuine Beats Tour? Try w/ an iPhone to see if it work. As far as I know, volume controls only work for the iPhone and iPod.
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
Try the Headset Button Controller trial app in google play. You can map out the buttons like long click for volume up, double click to skip tracks etc etc. Tried it with Desire HD's stock earphone today and it worked (Used DHD's stock earphone because I don't have any other headset with 3-button control)
try klipsch control.. free and full config.. even with other headset working..
I've got some ControlTalk Beats too and the volume control is the only thing that doesn't work. They were bought for an iPhone so I'm not entirely surprised. I bought the Headset Button Controller (think that's the name) App and it allows a lot of customisation, including skip forward/backward, but still no volume control.
It just seems like only the centre button works, not the extra side buttons.
can anyone show me where i can buy this for my htc one x ( Beats by dr.dre Urbeats ) in UK ? I found many sellers in ebay but the price not the same ( 35£ or 99£ )
Hi
Considering getting this. Does the mic and call answer at least work with this "HTC ControlTalk" cable? I know the standard Beats one doesn't.

The Beats Tour ControlTalk controls are designed for iPhone. Like most of the guys have said here, download a third party app to map the controls

Beats
The HOX says its Beats compatible.
and whernever i use any earphone or speakser, the BEATS is activate.
So, is it necessary to have the Beats Earphones for getting the Beast Dre effect ?
or its built in already in my HOX. and can be same effect with normal earphone which came with HOX.
thanks,

I'm using a set of etymotic headphones designed for iphones and my mic doesn't work either. I think there is a small converter you can plug in between the phone and the headset that should make it work, but I don't need to use the mic and haven't really looked into it.

Same problem. It seems that headphones with the 3 button apple control do not work (mic + buttons except for the center button sometimes) and they don't even allow the phone's microphone to work while plugged in. I have used apple headphones and klipsch image s4i's.
The center button works fine for me. It's the only one that does. Using CM9, not sure if that makes any difference.

I had the intention of picking up the klipsch s4i when i was in bestbuy. The one i never go to happened to have the s4a which i did not know about. I've only had them a few hours but the main issue is finding a working remote, install the klipsch app and you can customize what the buttons do! Amazing headphones once again from klipsch, worth every bit of $45 premium sound and a android compatible remote with mic. I highly recommend them.

Hey folks, quick question...
Does anybody out there knows if Sony's line of IPhone-compatible headsets is also compatible with the SGS2? Particularly the DR-EX61iP (image attached).
I've always been quite a fan of Sony's in-ear earphones and I use them with my S2, but I've always missed the very handy mic and button than comes with the stock earphones shipped with the S2 (which, in my personal opinion, are decent earphones, but lack the audio quality that Sony earphones have) and I've noticed some of these headsets Sony has been manufacturing exclusivelly for the IPhone/IPad/IPod line.
Now, the only reason why I'm asking you guys is that here in Brazil there is only one model of Sony headset available by an absurd price (the DR-EX12iP, around R$ 100,00 or US$ 50,00) and I've been thinking about importing the DR-EX61iP, which, with brazilian customs, will probably take a while to get here...
So, I've been wondering if anybody out there has ever tried one of these Sony IPhone-compatible headsets with our SGS2 and checked if at least the earphones work properly as well as the mic and the central (or "home") button - I don't really care about the volume control...
Thanks in advanced...

Thanks mate. Since I never had any contact with urbeats, HTC or Nocs headsets or headphones before (quality-wise, I mean) I'll look into Sony's Smart Headset for purchase online. Since Amazon won't ship the DR-EX61iP to Brazil and it is not available here, I'll look into it a bit further before purchasing it on eBay.
If in the end I decide to try the DR-EX61iP, I'll let you know if at least the mic and the central function button work (I've done some research and for what I've read, the volume buttons probably won't work, but that's OK, my S2 is always in my pocket)
Thanks again

Hey folks, just want to let you all know. Sony's DR-EX61iP is compatible with our beloved SGSII. The mic and central buttons work like a charm, but the volume buttons do NOT (then again, a wired headset is almost always close in arm's reach). My guess is that all of the Sony "IPhone-exclusive" headsets aren't all that much exclusive and may work with our SGSII as well.
One thing I was quite pleased is that PowerAmp also works well with it (my guess is it works well with all compatible headsets, though)...
Anyway, I just wanted to shared this with you all.
Best regards.

I can confirm that, i've been buying headphones meant for iphone/ipod and had no problem with the middle button. Of course, for reasons given by thelastred, volume up and volume down do not work. This being said, i have heard that there are headsets with volume down and volume up working on sgs3 (made by samsung afair). I was wondering if these work on sgs2 as well. in fact, it would be cool to list headsets with volume up/down working with sgs2.

- Nocs NS200H-001
Nokia purity in ear and hd
Also htc And samsung stock work as well
I am using sony ericsson's MW600 bluetooth headset. play/pause, forward, rewind, volume, call button all works in my cMIUI ICS s2.
The only problem is the oled display is not displaying the song name/artist. Always unknown.
In continuation of my previous thread for the Galaxy S3 (Here), I've decided to start one for the HTC One. Just like before I'll be counting on user feedback, especially seeing as volume control on A LOT of headsets don't work with the One. I'll add to the list as the thread gets updated but this should hopefully help quite a few people. Prices will be from UK stores unless I can't find them, in which case I will put up the price based on US Dollars. Anything highlighted in BLUE writing is known for sounding very good. You can then look online for reviews to see if they fit your taste of music (Bass heavy, Clarity over bass, Best of both and so forth). A good place to start is Head Fi (Here)
Tip: Apps such as Headset Droid allow you to configure multiple button presses. A neat idea for single button headset users is to have 3 button presses to raise volume and 4 button presses to lower volume. Obviously it's not as nice as having individual buttons, but in the case of the Sony MH1C, the additional buttons make the headset rather ugly and bulky. Headset control apps CAN NOT change the function of the 2nd and 3rd buttons (next/previous or vol up/vol down) due to HTC design

The list below goes on the basis that you will use a different media player if you wish to change tracks using the middle button. I have tried 4 different headset control apps and they allowed me to change tracks ONCE with the stock media player. Bose MIE2i
Hi,
That's a pretty nice list
I have the Bose MIE2i. Any idea will they work properly (with the inline remote etc) with the HTC One or do you suggest me picking up one from your list??
Thanks.

The i in the model generally indicates that they will not work. In my experience with the i model none of the buttons actually functioned.
I swapped them out for the non i model with just the one button and they work well, but I didn't miss having volume control when I switched from the iphone.

The i model definitely doesn't work. I would've assumed that the standard MIE2 was compatible but I'm not sure. In theory, most one button headsets work well, but there are a few that just don't play nice. Over on my S3 thread a user stated that their MIE2 didn't work at all apart from playing music.

Bose MIE2 no mic/ no volume/ no one button. Basically they produce sound and that's about it.

I'll need clarification from a ONE user that the MIE2 does actually work before I put them on this list.
One user. The MIE2 will play/pause music and if you double tap will dial your last call. They sound great but no functionality with the one AT ALL. I'm gonna give those RC E240's a shot. Thanks.

Is it possible for you to try double tapping to skip a track, with a different music player. All of the one button headsets on this list will redial your last caller on the stock music player. Doesn't happen with Poweramp for example.

Did you tell poweramp to listen to double/triple tap button presses?
Settings>Headset>Double/Triple Press [Ticked]
The last thing for you to try (this will help me, and possibly you if it works) is to untick poweramps double/triple press in the headset settings, download the free trial of Headset Button Controller, make sure that in advanced settings the HTC REDIAL FIX button is ticked, and then trying a double tap to change tracks
Edit: I've frozen Google Now because I don't use it, but I hear that freezing it stops the redial from happening

I didn't do any of the unticking but I have tried HBC before. I forgot what my results were. I primarily use a motorola bluetooth and over the ear cans and I've given the Bose to my daughter. Once I get the E240's I'll try the ticking.

e240 should work out of the box regardless of media player used
Added To List

Hi, great thread. Thank you.
What about klipsch X10i? I know it's an iphone type headset, but I've read some reports of it actually working (except for the volume buttons) on android phones, both on older models of galaxy and HTC One X. Some needed an adapter (like this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005I0GHV8/ref=cm_cr_asin_lnk#productDescription ) to get the mic to work properly, others seemingly did not..
Any idea if I'm going to need such an adapter for the HTC One??
I also found this possible mod (for us who are not afraid to use a soldering iron) for maybe getting the volume keys to work: http://www.instructables.com/id/Galaxy-Nexus-and-others-headset-remote-with-medi/?ALLSTEPS
Damn it, I wish Klipsch could release a X10a(II) already :silly:

I used those same headphones on my one And they did not work for the controls at all actually you couldn't even take a call while using them with the HTC one. Never believed that when the box said made for iPhone that it would only work on the iPhone
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
Either way they won't be added to the list to their clarified as actually working.

I had volume up/down/play/pause work but I've never tried them for calls since I live in a windy place and headphone mics always suck in the wind. Could headphone support be baked into trickdroid and that's making them work for me?
its not that great

Doubt it. All my headsets work across various roms regardless so I doubt it would be something thats specific to TrickDroid

What?
Ladies and gentlemen our prayers have been answered, well sort of.
Just got my samsung HS3000 bluetooth headset, it supports the aptx lossless codec as does the one.
I can report it not only works with poweramp, but mx player as well.
I can play/pause ff/rewind, change tracks, comes with volume control and on off switch, even has some earphones bundled with it.
Not exactly perfect, but it'll certainly do for us folks who have better phones?
