"Invalid Package File" error. - HTC One X

Hi everyone. Since yesterday, whenever I've tried to download a file, that's say over about 25mb from Google Play and has the "Wi Fi" symbol in the rectangular box next to the app name, once it has finished downloading I get the error message "Invalid Package File" displayed. I can download and install smaller files from Google Play no problem though. I'm using my mobile network to download the files and have never had a problem before downloading files from Google Play. I've read on some sites that this can be down to problems with the mobile network connection. Could any kind person please help me out with this issue? Thanks alot.

mmm... maybe the app isn't compatible with our device...
EDIT: no , i was wrong, i have downloaded it and it works here...
How odd.
Does it work if you log on to play.google.com from a normal browser and try to remote install it?
take a look here... this is what i've found
-recognize your browser, whether it is firefox, or google chrome, or internet explorer...
-recognize the version of your browser....
-remember.... different browsers have different ways of finding the version...
-and than you need to clear the cache files and the recent browse history, and cookies...
-im just explaining this to you generally...
- just follow through the guide here at this link.
- it'll help. hope it works for you.
Good Luck...

Has it worked before?
Some apps can't be installed from some countries (based on the active SIM, usually)
What is the actual error message?
It worked before! Actual error message: "an error had occured, please try again later"..

It could be a fault at google side, maybe a server down or something !
Just thinking out loud here

Error installing apps from play store!

I never had this kind of issue before. I can't install apps from the play store. When I click on install the downloading icon comes up on my notification bar but the app is not downloading. It says downloading for a long time. I waited for 30 minutes but even then the app did not download.
I tried clearing the cache and data of play store and download manager but it still didn't work. Please help me.

The playstore must be updating. If it still doesn't. find an apk for play store and install it. You can also try removing google account and adding it again.
I experienced this many times... it happens mostly when I use Internet pass through... and I will also happen if you used play store after a long period... actually I leave it by itself and It starts downloading ... after the first attempt next downloads goes normally...

[Q] App Updates not getting downloaded on WFS CM7

Hi All,
I have HTC WFS running CM7 (CyanogenMod-7-20120712-UNOOFICIAL-marvel) and facing issues with downloading installed app Updates from Play store. Play Store Version: (3.10.10)
Notification shows that I have like 10 updates available and when I select the update to download, the progress bar does nothing, no downloads.
At the same time there is no issue with downloading new apps, it gets downloaded without any isues.
Using link2SD to move stuff to SD card.
Any suggestion why only Updates are not getting downloaded?
cheers!
Are you connecting to the Play Store by 3g or wireless?
If it is 3g, then it is possible that you have set the Play store app to update over Wi-Fi only. You can check this in the settings menu for the Play store app.
I am using normal mobile network, i.e. 2G network and can confirm that have not enabled update over wifi.
Also attaxhing the screenshots of the errors which says could not download app eroor 475 or something.
i have even tried uninstaling the play store updates and then clear all cache etc. so it goes back to initial market version 3.1.7 .... but after it again came back to 3.10.10.
new apps install well, only updates it does nothing.
any further suggeston please.

You can try Clearing the data for both Google Play Store and Google Play services. Then reboot.

i had that error but its due to slow connection.once connect your phone with wifi or 3g and then download.and also if your market isnt updated so might possible you can see this error.wait for a while first till your market updated.
Slow network I can take that as one of the reason but what concerns me is that I am not able to download say a 456kb update and can download a new 4mb app.
i wil try wifi network.

If you are from Balkan Area/Kosovo, it is a random issue. Play Stor is not working properly in Kosovo. for what reason I do not know. I asked internet providers and they have no clue about it.
However try VPN Hotspot Shield, it helped me to solve the problem.
After i revert back to stock rom with RUU, i have successfully updated my Htc One X to 4.2.2 with Sense 5
I had the same issue after the update Cant Access/download anything from Google Store
Here is what i did
* I did a Factory Reset and Re-entered my Gmail account.
Then it worked fine
But now i am left with an unstable wifi signal. im just in my room and it said "not in range"
Note that my room is not far from the modem router.
Do you have this problem also?
Sorry for drifting the topic.
Hope my " Fix" will work for you @psicop
I have tried a few solutions, i cant install anything from play store even if i use the computer, i dont any option to delete my google account and i dont want to reset my phone, that the st thing that i want to do
